TP Wii 100% Speedrun
updated
Great category tho!
This run accomplishes the feat in a scant 2 hours, 21 minutes, and 47 seconds. Picking up the extra missiles over Any% is why the run takes longer, tho this is also not nearly optimized.

Don't ask what happened to the rest of the run. IT WAS SAD.

Years coming on this huge PB. Good Ordon to start (a 13 flat is a very solid time, not as good as previous PB but that was absurd); in fact, probably the best Forest Temple I've ever had, even with a terrible Diababa. Not the best of runs overall to Morpheel, though we did gold entering Mines thanks to the roll clip past the goron to skip reloading the room.
The run shined after Morpheel through Snowpeak, though. These splits aren't really comparable to old PB due to huge route changes for the overworld collections, but they ultimately end up saving a bit of time. Snowpeak was a nearly flawless dungeon complete with Freezard 1F clip, and I was ahead enough that I didn't feel comfortable risking the run on DoT Skip - so this does still feature the old ToT route without DoT Skip. The rest of the run fell fairly even, and I managed to put together a great PB of about 7.5 minutes. Very happy to have done so.

Well. Well. WELL THEN. This category, at least to me, is done. My goal was to beat a 2:15. Yeah, we almost got a 2:13. This is a 2:14:00.50. Sure, it's beatable, but ultimately, any run that isn't a TAS is. This will be absurdly and incredibly hard to beat, and I sure as hell won't do it for a very, very, very long time.
5:46.32 (5 minutes, 46 seconds, 19 frames)
Golds are down to a 5:43.84 thanks to a gold on Bombs split this run. The reos room was absurdly fast and clean.
Run technically died on Phantoon split, but finished out with a 2h 16m run, only about 20s behind PB at the time... a PB that would be beaten very shortly after. This is the first Bombs RTA time where I finished the run.

Well, this is a run. It's a PB/WR, but it's pretty bad. I died in Sector 3's second trip (which just should not happen in an Any% run), had some pretty bad timelosses otherwise, yet somehow saved 5s over the last run.
Still want that sub-2:15, and I might actually get that before the end of the year. Fingers crossed.

Oh my god. So this run was... mediocre... up until entering Arbiter's Grounds. I had some ups and downs, some good splits and some bad splits. And then we completely dropped the timer off the cliff and crushed the second half. Multiple golds and many optimized splits caused this nearly nine-minute PB where all of the timesave is the second half of the run. While the last PB I had was only by 0.92 seconds (from a 3:38:57.97 to a 3:38:57.05 , ergo, not a leaderboard improvement, which is why I never bothered to upload it), this PB is very worth the upload.
This is the fastest time to beat TP using a Wii version period. Huge shoutouts to a very impressive (and well-worth your watch!) segmented time which this run managed to take down - youtube.com/playlist?list=PLABEC20D51D3EBD7E

The madman does it again. Did it later the same night on stream, but that run wasn't a PB. This is getting scary.
Bug Limit 100% is effectively the second-longest category in Twilight Princess, behind Low%. Bug Limit 100% wants to collect all the pickups in the game without using many of the glitches that TP has. This run completes the task in 8 hours, 23 minutes, and 52 seconds; done on a USA Wii U with a USA Wii 1.0 disc.
Note that bug limit is not equal to intended route. There are still skips in this run, and several dungeons are still very broken, such as Snowpeak Ruins and Lakebed. That said, this is about as close as you can get with a speedrun to a casual playthrough of the game... just one that's very, very fast comparatively.
As has been the case with every run of this category I've uploaded (though I expect this trend to stop here), routing changes are a thing. A lot of splits in this run lack a comparison due to sweeping changes. While it's hard to accurately time changes, this route is certainly more optimized, and that is a good sign that it's faster. I expect there'll be optimizations still existing. 8+ hour runs never really are fully optimized, and this category is no exception. But a lot of that would be beyond me.

What the hell is this? After doing the route once to test it with a ton of saves, and doing the route again RTA, I manage to complete the route a third time, for the second RTA run of it? This shouldn't happen, but it did and it is. And it probably will continue to happen, too. I won't spoil the tricks and how many tries they took. I will enjoy this run for quite some time to come. And I might eventually beat it again.

Strat ends up saving about 22 seconds vs good movement getting the missile in epilogue. This room is 29 seconds longer than crossing the room normally, but the backtracking skipped later is 51 seconds of timesave, so the difference is 22 seconds.
7 minutes, 50 seconds, 22 frames. Starting frame is 9 seconds 11 frames, ending frame is 8 minutes 1 frame.
Uses Floor Skips. As such, this won't qualify as a 100% completion of CoO.

Note: Splits can be a bit weird at times, due to various route changes from the previous route:
- The timeloss in the MDH split is fake as I do STAR 1 here; likewise the timesave in the Enter HC split is fake as I don't do STAR 1 here. Overall this ends up being net-neutral in these splits, but not having to worry about arrows for the majority of the run is of huge importance and saves time through the run.
- Enter Mines split has fake timesave due to not doing some donation during it; this gets paid back during the MDH split as well.
- Surprisingly, the Ball and Chain split *is* legitimate timesave. I technically lose a small bit of time in the Snowpeak split due to having to turn the cannon, but overall this is not fake timesave. That is a real gold.
SUB--7:30 HYYYYYYPE!!!!! Holy cow YES. YES YES YES YES YEEEEEEEEEEEEEES! Took me way too long to get this done. This entire Ordon was absurd. For comparison, an average Ordon is around the 13m10s to 13m20s window, and an excellent Ordon is sub-13. This is a whole *thirteen seconds faster* than *that*. Clocking in at an absurdly fast 12m47s this is the fastest Ordon ever done in a 100% run and is only 8.4 seconds behind my sum of golds. Incredible start to this run.
On top of that, several tricks done very quickly later in the run that I am incredibly happy with, some parts that really were bad. A very swingy run, but overall, I went green with the Enter CoO split after a very fast map warping to Kak from HV and a rather fast Early CitS clip, and I never looked back again from there.
Probably going to learn a few tricks before the next run; this is likely the last time you'll see "normal" ToT in a glitched hundo run and Freezard Clip on 1F is also a likely implementation as well. Both of these tricks are over 1m timesavers and I'm at the point where I should have them going into my runs. This also will likely be my last 100% run for quite a while in TP due to learning stuff and other various reasons, but as always, a category I'll be back to and one I hope to push as far as it will go. Be it by me or someone else.

*cries*
Took me ages to beat my old run. New route saves about a minute, few new tricks save time too, few optimizations save some time, and I needed all of it to PB. This is not a better-executed run, but this is *a* run on the TD (Text Displacement) route and a run that is a long time in the coming.
There are a few things I still have yet to incorporate. DoT Skip is not in this run because I need to learn how to do the route up optimally on top of learning the skip itself. There's Freezard Clip on 1F, the Spinner Bomb Boost in SPR I have yet to learn (I try it this run because doing the 2F boost with waterbombs is difficult as the graphics on the waterbomb do not lend well to seeing the flashes).
Overall a sloppy run but a PB nonetheless.

THIS RUN SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN POSSIBLE.
THIS RUN SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN POSSIBLE.
THIS RUN IS POSSIBLE.
THIS RUN SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN POSSIBLE.
So yeah. This is a thing. To make a very long story short, the route used here should not be done RTA. Epona Seam Clip on Ordon Day 2 is a pixel-precise, angle-precise, speed-precise clip with Epona... after which you *must* get Gorge Void otherwise you softlock. On top of that you have Back in Time Equipped to perform later in the run (which runs the risk of crashing the game), more Epona OOB, and Zora Armor skip 100% mandatory... yeah, it is by no means an easy route. The first 5 minutes is hell and it does not get any easier after that.
I was doing halfhearted run attempts at Seam Clip because I figured I would just end up losing runs to Gorge Void, Sword and Shield skip, EMS, BiTE, Epona OOB later, Helmasaur LJA, Morpheel, Early CitS, Zant, or anything else that I might be forgetting. And, well...
Woke up, picked up the controller, figured I'd do some halfhearted attempts for an hour or so and then move on to something else. First-try BiT initially, good Seam Clip, got GV, and expected to lose the run to S+S skip. Nope. Get past that, get past EMS, fully expecting by now to lose this to BiTE crashing or just taking too long to get it. NOPE.
BiTE happens, save+quit. BiT afterward for EBF, get past that, Eldin Twilight, etc, etc, Epona OOB goes off well, Helmasaur LJA doesn't take that much, Lanayru Twilight, get the Goron Bag. Die here which is meh but okay. Get the clawshot, and I know I need waterbombs in the lent bag for Morpheel, so I savewarp. And then it hits me.
I'd only ever done Morpheel without Zora Armor once before, and that was a year and a half ago when I *tested this route using a ton of saves to make sure the thing worked* So of course I knew this was going to be painful. Fifth try I told myself this'd be the last time... and with zero water bombs left I got it. And then I realized: this run, for as terrible as it got, is pretty much past any major fail point except for Zant. On a route that should not be done RTA.
So by this point nerves are up to 15, I'm hyped to hell, and I played rather poorly from here on out. But Early CitS was fast, and while I safety-saved before Zant fight, I didn't need it. After Zant the run was basically confirmed to be able to finish - there's no runkills after that. And we finished it out.
This route is very hard and there's really nothing you can do to make it any easier. I am not someone who runs Any% for TP really (TPHD is far different). And yet... this run happened. A landmark run, just for showing off the most ridiculous Any% route ever conceived for Twilight Princess. A route that was believed was not RTA-viable. A route that, for all of its difficulty, has been conquered.
I don't know if I'll try and beat this. I would want to practice Morpheel and S+S Skip and a lot of other tricks first. But I will always have this run as a reminder of the time when I decided in my crazy mind to do attempts on the hardest TP Any% route. And, against all odds, managed to succeed.

Note: My apologies about the audio clip at 0:53:07 . I had a recording issue causing this to be a burst of static from my microphone, so I muted it - this also is why this encode took so long to come up after recording it. It affected the game audio as well because, while I originally had my microphone setup on Track 2, when I had an issue recording my previous PB I removed the microphone and then readded it... but never set it back to Track 2 only so it was on all tracks, including the game audio track.
Well, I didn't die. Decent run, terrible Sector 3 second trip. Still have 5 minutes in timesave (ouch). Would like to get sub-2:15 but probably need a sub-2 main game for that, and I really want to improve other categories, so this will probably stay for some time.
