Eddy Merckx Strasbourg a, an illogical good choice! Andy Amos 2026-04-23 | More of a first look rant on why and how I came across this Gravel Road Bike! At the time of posting it is available from Decathlon Stores here in Spain for €999.99! It has a full Shimano Tiagra 4720 groupset ( I believe the difference to 4700 is that it has hydraulic brakes). I have a "Gate" ,or rather, inside leg of 32" / 82cm and the L size is fine for me with a short handle bar stem. The saddle is a Sellitalia Boost. Thru axles 12x100 and 12x142, Shimano wheels, tubeless ready and supplied with valves if you choose that path. The GRX 400 was installed thanks to having a clutch although I will be fitting a longer chain to compenste (KMC). Just weighed it at 10.9 kg, sorry 800g heavier than I mentioned. MiniMi handlebar and bottle cage mounted bike rack system Andy Amos 2025-12-16 | Looking at mounting options for the Minimi rack system. Thinking modular, the small aluminium plate can be possitioned in manner of ways to compliment loading a bike for a however long adventure on the bike. The handlebar clamps are designed for more modern 31.8mm diameter bars but cheap adapter work fine for older narrower models like the set shown in the video. All holes are made for M5 bolts and the corner holes are threaded.

Alfa Romeo 159, a cause for the window refusing to go up Andy Amos 2025-05-29 | To alfa Romeo 159 owners encountering problems with electric windows winding down fine but trying to wind up start making a terrible sound and refuse to work well. It looks like the root of the problem can be a badly installed winder motor assembly meaning the teeth aren't fully engaged with the regulator wheel. This cuases adverse wear on the nylon part leading to the teeth getting distorted and failing. Make sure the 3 plastic locations points poking through the inner plate for the motor mount screws are vertically aligned before screwing on the motor!
