Shoop Touhou Eurobeat 2024-11-11 | Happy 10 years of this channel!!!!! From the bottom of my heart, thank you for everything. I thought for the 10-year special extravaganza I’d try putting together some of my favorite House Sets from the incredible Rin/凛/クロネコラウンジ/kuroneko lounge, one of my all-time favorite arrangers. I have so many fond memories of being in middle school (and of course far after that lol) listening to those non-stop arranges, and I still find myself returning to them when I need a little nostalgia-fueled boost.

Eventually everything must come to an end :(
For context (someone correct me if I'm wrong), this song is from GET IN THE RING's last album, closing out an era of their absolutely iconic discography.

It also makes me think of that old song Dear You from Higurashi… I think a lot of us are starting to feel sentimental for the lost days of our youth. Anyway, translating a random song on a whim because it made me burst into tears on Sunday night definitely wasn’t on my bingo card 😐 Not to bear my soul in the middle of a youtube summary, but I remember when I was in my first year of college, I [in a fit of despair] thought to myself that my biggest fear was losing my ability to dream. I wanted to hold on to my imagination, no matter how childish it was, and I never wanted the ‘outside world’ to take it away from me. To me, this song really captures that feeling of sending off your “dreams within reality”, and hoping they'll someday come back.
And then of course hearing that familiar line from 現夢 was like someone dunked me in ice water, after that I basically dropped everything to start working on a translation.

This one is chock full of GET IN THE RING/TUMENECO motifs, the most striking of which is of course the iconic line from 現夢/genmu, one of my all-time favs which I adore with all my heart (and the accompanying short story).

Credit to the referenced line from genmu; “Even now, I still dream a dream I will not wake from” goes to my biggest inspiration, the absolute genius kafka-fuura: kafkafuura.wordpress.com/2012/10/09/genmu/.

Hope everyone is having a blessed sunday 🌺 so my laptop, imovie, garageband etc have all been super corrupted basically since 2017/2018-ish so I haven't been able to screw around in garageband. Then a few weeks ago (months? Who knows at this point), I finally snapped and factory reset my computer. my hard drive is wiped but at least I can make mediocre beats am I right lads 🔥🔥🔥

A very very happy 20th anniversary to Touhou 8: Imperishable Night, my favorite game of all.

LUNATIC was the first english touhou song I ever heard back on HoshiNoInaba's channel (I think that original vid is still up), and was basically hooked on Odyssey and A-ONE ever since. What an amazing, magical time it was earlier this year being able to go to her concert IN PERSON in LA at touhoufest!!!! Hearing LUNATIC performed live was definitely one of the highlights of this year, if not my whole touhou experience lmao

Can you believe I've never uploaded this one?? It's one of my top four Odyssey favorites (right next to Rain Dance, UFO Lover, and Calm and the Storm). I know this song has been uploaded ad nauseam (it's phenomenal, after all), BUT it's the 20th anniversary of Imperishable Night and I don't make the rules!! Like I already said over on twitter, IN will always always hold a special place in my heart for being the most magical game to me, having my favorite all time ost (lunatic princess), my all time fav character (Kaguya), and the song that first got me into touhou (IOSYS's 患部で止まってすぐ溶ける～狂気の優曇華院 AKA overdrive). I don't really know why this game in particular resonated with me so much, and why KAGUYA has been my favorite pretty much all this time. And this time is also extra special because it was around this time 12 (TWELVE) years ago that I first got into touhou (I remember Ten Desires coming out so I know it was a bit before then). So. Yeahhhh I'm starting to feel old....

【東方House】 House Set of Hidden Star in Four Seasons (2017 WIP) 【Shoop】

Shoop Touhou Eurobeat 2023-07-11 | Just throwing out this fake house set I made in 2017 and totally forgot to post anywhere...
I starting making this in my first year of college as a parody tribute of my FAVORITE Kuroneko lounge House Sets with my keyboard and garageband before the official house set came out, but evidently I never finished it… I’m WELL aware at how wonky some of it sounds, but I genuinely don’t have the working file, nor a working GarageBand to edit it anymore, only this 20 minute mp3 file that I really wanted to put SOMEWHERE before my dinky laptop finally breaks :)
While I really wish I could get back into this file and edit it (my whole laptop is on the verge of collapse and everything is corrupted), there are a couple places that I’m actually proud of, so in a severe lapse of judgment right now I’ve just decided to bite the bullet and upload. The ending is really where is starts to fall off, especially in those last five minutes, but just ignore that… Just take this as a musical representation of my general mental state and wellbeing in 2017…

Originally, this was going to be a FULL house set for HSiFS, aaand then school kicked me sideways lmao

Who knows, maybe I’ll take this down in a couple days out of sheer mortification, but regardless, enjoy??

Anyway, this is heavily inspired by the amazing work of Rin (凛) of クロネコラウンジ whose music helped me so much throughout my life. Sorry for the garbage quality but someday I’ll have a functioning laptop and garageband so I can start making things myself again!

Honestly there’s so much underrated instrumental Touhou music… For anyone who doesn’t know, I have quite a few playlists for studying and what not, feel free to check them out and roast my eclectic music taste :)

I swear this channel isn't dead! I'm always lurking about. And I even have a couple videos in draft form ;~)

I discovered Touhou music when I was 14 through absolutely cursed IOSYS videos on youtube, and basically I’ve been hooked ever since. It wasn’t until much, much later that I was inspired to upload Touhou music since so many of the channels I loved had been terminated. Well, apparently it’s been 6 years since creation of my channel and nothing bad has happened yet, and I can only hope it’ll stay that way. Here’s to another year at least!

Ok so apparently the Youtube terms of service are changing tomorrow, and there’s a chance my channel will be deleted, i'm not really sure. so if that happens, I want to go out with a bang with this classic. Hopefully they will allow my channel to remain, but… In the event of them closing my channel, please keep updated through my blog (which I also literally haven’t updated in years… But I guess I’ll post something if they shut down my channel... just letting ya guys know)

I’ve been working on a couple of my own translations but I HAD to put something out just in case my channel gets shut down, so I used this song that I first discovered on 0P2C’s channel back in the day. This is also just one of my all time favorite songs probably, lyric-wise as well as melody-wise. I hope it isn’t disrespectful to 0P2C to use the exact same image she once used, I wanted to have a blast of nostalgia in the event this whole ship goes crashing down. Also I’m a huge fan of kafka-fuura’s translations and someday I aspire to be as great as him.

I think this is a fitting song if I am to disappear tomorrow. A wise woman (ScarletFlameFlandre) once said that “all things must draw to a close at some point, even those which seem eternal."

For those of you who don’t know, I was inspired to make this channel in the wake of Touhou music channels such as Belisaria and HoshiNoInaba getting shut down, but I never expected for it to actually get subscribers lol. I started translating songs that nobody else was paying attention to (namely A-ONE) purely for fun, and I’m so astounded at how far I’ve come. So I just want to say thank you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, for bringing me so much joy every time I open my notifications, for reminding me how beautiful this community is.
