You are correct. I've got this question a few times. So I went back into my data to further analyze.

First, for starters, both Brinno TLC2000 time-lapse and P1000 cameras are oriented with respect to the horizon as best as possible. I tried to highlight this in my presentation, but it's key to my next two points because if they are not oriented properly the angles will be off.

Next, the angle of the fish-eye lens trajectory in the eclipse area was 13 degrees. The trajectory angle of the P1000 pictures was between 44 and 54 degrees. This doesn't include the Time_and_Date animation trajectory which was 77 degrees. I'm not including this angle. My estimation of the angle of the P1000 pics may not be perfect, but there is quite a bit of difference between 13 and 50 degrees. Even if the fish-eye lens added a few degrees, it's not adding 30-40 degrees.

Finally, I have three time-lapse pictures that show a partial eclipse. I did show one of these in my presentation, but it's hard to see. It's the slide that shows 17 minutes before total eclipse. The two other times occur at 28 and 32 minutes before the total eclipse. When I zoom in on these pictures they are fuzzy, but good enough to confirm that the fish-eye lens pictures are about 45-49 degrees, closely resembling the P1000 pictures.

From Shadowreveal: The lens was 50mm but the render is viewed through a 1920x1080 aspect window. To see more curve requires a wide angle lens and would introduce distortion. You can't take a step back because you're on a globe and would have to rotate back to maintain the normal - your view of the curve then remains the same. As far as I'm aware there is no way to accurately show what the eye would see as an undistorted representation on a computer screen - unless you set it up for 3d goggles or something. I know everyone is concentrating on the curve but for me the more striking part is how the horizon drops away dramatically. A few thousand feet more and you would only see sky. There is just no high altitude footage showing this. Another interesting point is that the starting zero point of the render is actually 6 feet above the globe. With the Blender globe model being completely smooth there is a detectable drop to the horizon. It fooled me for a bit as I modeled it because I couldn't work out why my centre of lens line had a small gap to the globe - I thought the camera was tilted up slightly.

This sermon from the Berean Bible Church is about Christianity and the taboo but VERY important discussion of what Israel and the “promised land” mean in the Bible. Should a Christian stand behind modern-day Israel? Are the Jews literally God’s “chosen people”to be supported at all cost or does it mean something else? I do not agree with everything said here but I have reached most of the same conclusions independent of any church or organization. I always found it upsetting to my soul when I grew up around Republicans always praising Israel. Something always felt wrong about it. I could never understand why God essentially drew a blank check to a vile government. Similarly, I stopped pledging allegiance to the U.S. government flag after 9-11 as I no longer saw it as God's country. I also want to make it clear that the people of Israel are not responsible for the evil actions of their government just as much as I’m not responsible for the evil actions of the American government during 9-11. For our flat earth Israeli friends, please do not feel as though I’m attacking you as a people because that is not the case at all.

I don't know what is theater, real, or a mixture of the two. Exercise reasonable skepticism.
