DOGTAGS we're DOGTAGS! your friendly neighbourhood soul band 🐶 🔮 we went back in time to a song that Regi has been singing for the past 9 years, written here at a classroom in Regis University where they went to college 🎨 we often carry around our grief in silence, hiding it from everyone (including ourselves), but with “being three” we hope to help you guys see that heartbreak can be a sort of healing too, even in all the crazy situations that love can bring us into 💛❤️💚💙 it means so much to us to be able to return to this space and bring the song to life where it was inspired, thank you so much to Regis University and all the staff and community that have helped us bring this song to life~

Coming at you from their home city Denver, DOGTAGS is a queer soul/jazz collective that brings their unique “Art-soul” sound and a warm sense of belonging to queer spaces and communities of color all across the snowy front range of Colorado. Built around the real-life relationship of founders Regi and Michael, DOGTAGS embodies friendship, community & acceptance through their vibrantly evocative music. The group is coming out of 2025 with the release of their debut album ROSEWORLD, their headline experience show at the Bluebird Theater, and a two-day run at Electric Forest. They have opened shows for Lake Street Dive, Thee Sacred Souls, Teddy Swims, Slum Village and many more in their 4 years as an active project.

Friday, 4/18/2025 ~ On a crispy, cold spring night in Fort Collins CO, DOGTAGS took the stage playing Led Zeppelin's 'Since I've Been Loving You' to kick off our second year at the FOCOMX festival. "I could feel my fingers start to crack and bleed as I continuously fretted my strings song after song," said guitarist Michael. Regi's vocal performance did not miss a beat even in the piercing cold, Micah and Heather had to keep a close watch on their tuning as the frost sharpened notes, and the crowd was amazing cheering us on and warming the stage for Ben, Aaron, and Tyler to hold down the rhythm. The band absolutely loves the Corrine Bailey Rae version of the song, and we had a ton of fun combining that arrangement with the original zeppelin tune! Crazy enough, a proposal happened in the crowd and a lovely couple got engaged during this very song!! 🙀 Love really can happen anywhere, as long as the music is right 🐶

Local Denverites spreading Neo-Soul, Latin Jazz, love, and joy. We're creating a special little space in Denver to ensure that queer folks and people of color get to feel seen and feel belonging wherever we go.

thanks for watching! we're a scrappy young band from Denver, CO with a duo of Artists at the forefront and a small puppy as the mascot. This song is the first that we finished together last summer, and since then we've been playing shows in the local scene and growing our members to the full band you see here now! Although we still don't have a Spotify, a label, or much money... we're determined to contribute beautiful Art, music, poetry, and more to the world as we continue to grow together as Artists and people.
