But the process of getting the text & music to be timed correctly can be very tedious and I wanted to make a green screen version for others to use to encourage the spread of the meme.Since then, this format has blown up further than I initially anticipated, and I'm so hyped. Whether you love the meme or hate it, I'm just glad that Tally Hall can gain a bit more recognition. I watched and rewatched the big floppa meme to figure out how the kinetic typography worked with the text. Decided the best option was to type out the top text and bottom text in a photo editing program (PhotoscapeX) like this imgur.com/DwSYtJg, then set crop keyframes over another greenscreen in Premiere to have each word appear one at a time. Cropping and timing the keyframes was very tedious, and a program like Adobe After Effect might've been better, but I'm not that familiar with it. Plus, last time I tried to create a Tally Hall related meme, my computer imploded and was in a repair center for six weeks... so I've been cautious but ye maybe 2-3 hours then I was done with this greenscreen.As for making your own version of the meme, the main thing you need is a video editing program with something called “chroma key”, where you overlay the green screen on top of your images a s select the green in the green screen with the chroma key to remove it. I recommend googling it if you’re unsure. I’m a huge Spider-Man 2 nerd so using some storyboards from another sequence, title cards, and a Spidey 2 movie clip, I mocked something up: Ock throws the truck that landed on her off, looks right into the collider beam in awe, Extreme closeup “The power of the Multi-Verse... in the palm of my hands...” Then she leaps into the beam to explore the multi-verse. “I had our First Assistant @SarahSoSweetly record her voice exactly how Alfred Molina said his line in Spidey 2 as a stand in. My thought behind it: if it wasn’t already clear, I thought it would give a last bit of insight into her motivations. She does it all for the science. She’s a villain but she’s a science buff! We realized by that point in the scene everyone mostly forgot about Ock and mostly didn’t care. But the bigger issue was breaking away from the intensity of Miles clinging for his life to show Ock essentially exit the movie a 2nd time hurt the momentum, and more importantly, the emotion of it all. “You can see this scene in the Alternate Universe Mode when you buy the blu-ray/digital release!”--The bonus feature "Alternate Universe Mode" for Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse is pretty awesome.
