Russ Cook AKA @hardestgeezer made headline news across the globe. Why? Because heโs just completed the equivalent of 385 marathons in 352 days, running across the entire length of Africa. On his epic journey, Russ took on some of the toughest environmental conditions, including the worldโs largest hot desert, the Sahara. But it wasnโt just extreme weather making this such a treacherous mission, Russ also came face to face with robbing, kidnapping, life threatening illness and extreme injuries.
Unsurprisingly, this mission was not his first rodeo. Russ has been taking on extreme challenges for yearsโrunning from Asia to the UK, pulling a car the length of a marathon and even burying himself alive for a week. Itโs no wonder most people know him better by his nickname, Hardest Geezer.

A common misconception about hula is that it's a dance tradition strictly for women. Nope. In ancient Hawai'i, men were the first to dance hula, and the best dancers were even chosen to become warriors. Today, Ke Kai O Kahikiโone of Hawai'i's most famous male hula schoolsโis carrying on this tradition by telling warrior stories with dance. To do so, dancers train in the same way as their ancient forbearers, using the land itself as a harsh and unforgiving gym. To dance like a warrior, you need to train like one.

Not many have what it takes to reach the top in climbing. This unforgiving sport is just as much a mental game as it is technical and physical, and has humbled some of the fittest athletes in the world. The wall is however no match for paraclimber Brian Zarzuela.
This athlete doesnโt have your average origin story, in fact, Brian was left out of sports as a kid because of his disability. But one day in middle school, he discovered an afterschool club that changed everything. Brian took up baseball, basketball, handball, ice skating, football, BMX, martial arts - you name it he tried it. Heโd finally found an outlet for years of built up energy and it just felt right.
Climbing didnโt however come naturally. On his 19th birthday, Brian took on his first wall, and he admits, he was pretty bad! But there was something about the sport that kept him coming back. Heโs winning medals across the world, but how does he perform at the US National Paraclimbing championships?
