Read This Book: Monstrilio by Gerardo Sámano Córdova #shorts bookramble 2023-07-27 | Devoured this one in one sitting - - shout out to everyone who told me to read this one. MONSTRILIO is a story about the trickle down of grief, the physicality of transformation, and the lonlieness in the road to identity. It's a book that explores the act of letting go, and understanding that the action doesn't mean any love has to be lost. Really reminded me of the narratives within stories like Pinocchio, Frankenstein or The Metamorphosis. Monstrilio is an intense slow crawl, plucking each string of its text with the tautness of yearning and everything that hides in the shadows.
