Alright, a few things I wanna get out the way before I talk about this video...
1st of all, some of you will know I got a new microphone 2 weeks ago. Although I still dislike my voice in it, I will be doing covers of MPCs I've already done if people want me to. This may or may not include vocals, depending on the song.
I'm also working on a new soundfont promotion video -- A few people already know this, but I hope they'll keep quiet for now as I want it to be a surprise ;-)
Then, of course, I'm 10 subscribers away from a 200 sub special! It's gonna take a lot of effort, but I think it'll be worth it. The more subs I get, the faster it gets released. :3
After the 200 sub special, I'd like to see people suggest some of the songs on the list on my channel that they'd like to see done by me. If there's nothing on there you want, feel free to suggest something new!
So, in summary:
Tell me if you want covers Tell me if you want a new SoundFont Tell your friends to subscribe Tell me what you want MPC'd next
...Anyways, back to the video.
This is filler... Maybe the higher end of filler, but still filler. I'm quite annoyed at a glitch that appeared halfway through and I've tried EVERYTHING to get rid of it, but I can't and it's very noticeable. Please try to ignore it.
The aim here was to create another video game fitting composition, but this time, with a new style -- Aquatic! I'm fairly happy with how it turned out, but as per normal, I prefer beginning to the end because I always rush or be lazy with endings. Ah well.
Also, custom SoundFonts for the win! I'll be doing some Original SoundFont work some time in the future, but I'm really enjoying this and I worked quite a long time on just making this SoundFont. It's mainly Dess' string SoundFont, but with modifications, Volcan's Rock Orchestra and some custom samples put in there as well. Get it here: http://www.mediafire.com/?n7pq7i19xvmwiqg
4 main musical inspirations for this, all VG music -- I challenge you to guess them all! Will post correct answers below, good luck!
Also, credit to Chris for guessing the 3rd one exactly 2 seconds after Poppy. X D
Tempo is 2,700 and this took me about a week. I'm unsure of whether I should upload this into the OC Contest, considering this is filler and there are pieces far, far, far greater than this already in the contest.
Oh, and sure, MPH; you can use this in your SMW hack providing I'm credited. I'd be honoured. ^_^

To anyone still subscribed it's obviously been a couple of years but thought I'd post a video from a few months back. This was the house band I assembled for a jam night I did for my 20th, and also probably one of my favourite songs atm! Let me know what you think :)

I know I haven't uploaded in a while - I have a lot of content that I'm eager to show but just haven't gotten round to uploading it yet - However this is something that I thought needed a little more grace.
In short, this is a song I wrote for a close friend of mine named Toby Davies who went to my school. He passed away today 1 year ago. In his short life (16 years old) he achieved many things and inspired many people and if it wasn't for him I wouldn't be the person I am right now. Please bear with my mediocre voice and screw ups here and there. :P
His friends and family had a toast back home to him tonight and although I couldn't make it, I thought I'd write this song to make up for it. This is dedicated to Toby, his sister Charlie and his mother Paula.
Thanks to Eleanor for filming this and Becky for letting me play this at Chairs and Coffee, Fulham.
Google won't let me reply to comments without messing up my account but I appreciate anything you guys have to say, it means lot. Let me know what you think!

Lyrics/Chords:
D, F#m7, Em7 Don’t know where I ought to start Words I stutter with an aching heart Did the world a lot of great But more importantly, you were my mate
Em7, G, Bm7, Asus4 Bringing joy with what you used to do Went to London, said that I should too Took each opportunity that came your way If it weren’t for you, a single guy Then I probably would’ve passed it by And I wouldn’t have got where I am today
Chorus: D, F#m, Em7, G, A/G Oh Toby, it’s not the end You’ll always be my friend There’s no reason I should cry I’ll see ya later cause I’m not saying goodbye
D, F#m7, Em7 And before a year ago We could’ve been chilling on a piano Just a bunch of kids in school Who’d of known that fate would be this cruel
Em7, G, Bm7, Asus4 You’re an actor and you play bassoon And you write and dance and sing in tune And a friend to everybody that you knew And you did it single handedly And you raised 5 grand for charity And a list of things I wasn’t there for too
Chorus
Bm7, A, Gmaj7 I wish I had another minute To explain what you meant to me I’ve got myself too tangled in it Please don’t leave me with a memoryMANiCURE (Lady Gaga) Rock cover by M.A.R.KHerty2014-05-19 | Hi all!
Just uploading this for a few friends, but thought I'd share it here as well! This is a cover of 'MANiCURE' by Lady Gaga done as part of my buddy Matteo's performance assessment at college. I'm the bloke on the right on bass. It was great fun to perform, and although I only have a shoddy phone recording I hope it's enough to do this awesome singer justice. :P
Lead vocals: M.A.R.K (aka Matteo Camellini) Backing Vocals: Mane, Marta, Willo Guitars: Johan, Alessandro Bass: Herty Drums: Andy
Let me know what you think! I'm aiming to upload some original compositions before the end of my time at Tech so stay tuned! ~Herty~To the Moon an original song by Stina and HertyHerty2014-04-09 | Hey all!
I'll keep this pretty short - A few days ago I started working with an awesome singer/songwriter named Stina Johansson (Her page can be found here: facebook.com/pages/Stina/1440020982902437) and we got to work writing two songs. These are just acoustic covers and they will eventually be performed with a full band in studio, but tonight we got to perform in Chairs and Coffee to test these out at Tech Music School's Song Circles!
This song is called 'To The Moon'. The beginning of the song got cut out but this is most of it anyways. Props to Finn for recording!
Let me know what you guys think!

~Herty~Grenade (Bruno Mars) Acapella cover by Six for SureHerty2014-03-14 | So I haven't uploaded anything in a loooooooong while. Just figured you might wanna see some of the stuff I've gotten up to since I've been at college. Hopefully I'll be uploading more soon!
This is an arrangement of Grenade that I wrote for my new acapella group, Six For Sure. I'm the bloke on the right beatboxing. We performed on March 13th 2014 at Bush Hall, London. This was such a fun experience and I can't wait to do more!
ft. Katie, Naomi, Marta, Ashly, Matteo and Herty.
Tell me what you guys think! ~One-Forty~Summertime (Acapella Cover)Herty2013-07-06 | Because I feel guilty about not uploading stuff. I've actually had this lying on my hard drive for about 6 weeks - I didn't want to upload it because it's low quality, out of tune in places etc etc, but what're ya gonna do. This isn't uploaded to be the next Mike Tompkins anyways.
So this is an acapella cover I did with my 3 friends (I'm so popular) of Summertime, by Ella Fitzgerald. It's a classic jazz song which I had to play on bass guitar at a party last year, and just looking back on the song made me want to arrange my own cover. This is an original arrangement, as the actual song is so damn slow and frustrating. (Plus it isn't acapella)
I probably could have been more inventive with this but it's limited to my own vocal range and I think I'll save any falsetto till I've had a bit too much to drink one night. Tell me what you think and if there's anything else you want me to do, I should be uploading another video of me ranting later on this weekend.
I can give sheet music out to this on request.
Thanks! ~One-Forty~The Terrible Two on Jam with the BandHerty2012-09-17 | I made this while I was in Spain and figured some of you might like it. Let's find out.
Was limited quite a bit in this one but I guess it turned out alright. This song has served me well through my coursework, and has even been performed in two concerts! (Mind you, the melody was played on two electric violins and they certainly lived up to the song's name... (loljk violinists I love you guys. :3))
Not gonna be any new videos for a while, I'm afraid. Far too much stress in my life atm due to work. I'll occasionally upload stuff but it won't be anything new. Ya know. Just things like this.
Enjoy!
~One-Forty~Clash on the Big Bridge on Jam with the BandHerty2012-08-04 | Aaaaand that's all folks! I'm going back to Spain in a few days so don't expect much from me during that time, but hey. At least I uploaded a couple of videos, right? :)
Alright, sorry about not posting a decent video in ages yada yada yada etc etc. I don't really have an excuse anymore apart from a dead community and a busy life. Now I get to be like everyone else and have exams and all that! :D
Anyways, there's actually one thing I HAVE worked on MPC, but it requires two sets of outside vocals. I've provided one set, but I need someone else to sing teh lurvely tunes. If anyone (preferably female but at this point I'm not too bothered) is willing to help me and is a decent singer, please let me know!
So, about this. I think I posted in an update video almost a year ago that I had written a couple of songs on a DS game. It's called 'Jam with the Band', and although the title and content looks as cheesy as shit it's actually a pretty decent little composing tool (If you get used to the fact that everything sounds like midi crap) Any requests, let me know. I'm going on holiday in a week or so but you guys might as well keep me occupied. :3
I'ma copy and paste all of that to the other videos I'm posting too! Hurray for laziness!
I can't say I've ever played Final Fantasy, but I chose this song because I wanted something that REALLY pushed the game to its limits. Difficulty is maxed out on all instruments, and I had to transpose the song down a key just to fit the intro in the organ's pitch range. ...Plus the song is darn catchy! ^_^ Peace out guys!
~One-Forty~Want You Gone on Jam with the BandHerty2012-08-03 | Thanks for the continued comments! Got one more of these coming tomorrow.

I've got a whole lotta love for Want you Gone... Portal 2 IMO is the best game ever, and I'm sticking by that. This song is actually going to play a significant part in my music coursework, so I might as well know the song inside and out :P This was written in about 30 minutes without listening to the OST at all during that time.

Flower Garden! Yoshi's Island! My childhood in music form right here. It's a shame you can't do pitch bends with this game, but hopefully I've done the song some justice anyways. Tell me what you guys think!
~One-Forty~Generic Pop/Rock/Samba/whatever Song on Jam with the BandHerty2012-08-01 | D'aww, thank you guys for still backing me up, it means a lot to me. :)

So, this one's an OC. I tried to make it as cheesy as possible whilst still making it vaguely entertaining. If you guys can think of a name for it, let me know, but I've got nothing atm. Enjoy!

Find My Way is an original composition I wrote a while back, and I'm hoping some of my earlier subscribers will recognize it. It's cuuuute. Enjoy the filler, and thanks for putting up with me!
~One-Forty~The Minimalists Collab (Original Composition) on Mario Paint ComposerHerty2012-02-20 | Edit: Holy bajhgahaahd I do believe this is featured. Thanks to everyone who took part and everyone who's watched this!
Surprise! This was a fun one. :3 So, you guys know Kevin (Mrcarzylegoguy) right? Wellllll, he wanted to make a TWOC with me, he started and wrote 15 seconds of composition; I replied by writing another 15 seconds on top of it. He told me he couldn't think of anymore, so I decided to turn it into a seven composer collaboration with everyone following the same structure: The Minimalist's Collab!
Each part is 15 seconds long, a tempo of under 1,000, and Original SoundFont. The parts involved took under 2 days to make overall, and I personally am really pleased with the result.
Recorded by yours truly, I can finally record again. Oh, and it's HD! :D Not sure what to do about the small screen, buuut... Ya know. It's decent enough. I would have uploaded this to the MPH channel, but I had some troubles logging into it and, let's face it, the same people are gonna see if it's here. :P
This is an 'unofficial' collab in the sense that there was next to no organization involved, and it was actually kept fully secret from everyone until now, which is why you haven't heard anything about it yet. ;-) Not gonna say too much, just hope you enjoy!
~One-Forty~Abandoned Carnival (Original Composition) on Mario Paint ComposerHerty2012-02-16 | I have a feeling this description is going to be far too long for what the song is worth... :/ SO. Remember that song? The Terrible Two? Yeah, me too. I like that song. It occured to me that I got that done really quickly compared to my previous compositions - Two days compared to two months... And I realized it was because I just had a style in mind and went with it. So, following the same criteria I made this, and it only took me about 30 minutes! Pretty much filler, but I still think it's pretty adorable. 750 tempo, NES SF, and actually the 1st time I have EVER finished an OC that isn't in 4/4. Look at me, gettin' all rebellious with the time signatures and shizz. I need a name, by the way. I know what sort of name I'm goin' for, but I can't think of a decent one. Any ideas, y'all?
Props to Jess for being a smexy gurl as always and recording this for me so quickly. Go sub! www.youtube.com/MissArtiste90
Enjoy; ~One-Forty~The Terrible Two (Original Composition) on Mario Paint ComposerHerty2012-02-13 | Ohey a new video! :D
Thanks to Gilbert for recording 3 seperate video files for this on such short notice, I really appreciate it. Subscribe to him, he has great MPCs! http://www.youtube.com/user/SatoshiLyish Oh, while we're on that topic, I also owe a big thanks to Jess for recording a preview and helping me out with the SoundFont. Sub her too! http://www.youtube.com/user/missartiste90
Right, this one is quite important to me - This piece actually counts for a large part of my GCSE Music coursework. The briefing was to create a piece of music for dance, given a choice of many styles from bhangra to salsa, and from dubstep to waltz. I decided to choose Disco, so that's the theme of this song. As part of the coursework, I have to perform a part, which is why I added piano to this. I wanted something that wasn't too difficult (Though, it'll definitely be a challenge for me) but not so basic so that I don't get a decent performing grade.
Took about two days to make, and I tried to keep the disco stereotypes but still adding my own (slightly jazzy) twists on it. Fingers crossed it does alright...
Tempo is 2222, Soundfont is Electronica with a few changes - Flower is a trumpet, Heart is a picked bass, Swan and Piranha plant are piano samples and the Face is the choir from hard rock.
Dunno what else to say, really; enjoy!
~One-Forty~Beat It (2 Year Anniversary) on Mario Paint ComposerHerty2012-01-16 | HAPPY 2 YEAR MPC ANNIVERSARY ME! WOOP! *Pulls out party poppers* Bet you didn't see this one coming, eh? ;D So yeah, last week I was on a Skype call with a friend, messing around on my melodica and he kept requesting songs for me to play, that I did not know particularly well (If at all) and one of them was Beat It. Long story short, the next day I figured I might as well do it on MPC. Original Soundfont, too! I've used all but 3 of the instruments, although the goal was to sacrifice complexity for basic, down to earth MPC, so I try not to go too wild with parts, and the tempo is a reasonably low 2,300. Okay, so this song is 'Beat It' by Micheal Jackson, king o' pop. This version is shortened, however, since I got really lazy at the solo, no way in hell I'm attempting that X D This isn't the best 2 year anniversary in the world, but hey. It's a video. Not like you get much of them from me anymore, right? :P Again, thanks to everyone for staying subscribed, and I hope to get something else out soon!
~One-Forty~
P.S. I almost forgot! Thanks for Jess for rendering the video, considering Camtasia now officially hates my new computer! Go subscribe to her!
I'm still cool with you guys, right? D: Exactly the same problem I had last video. Struggling to make anything on MPC. Though... If you're lucky you'll get something else from me in 2 days, which I hope you'll like. If you don't get something in 2 days, assume I've given up on it like the shedload of other ideas in my Prefs folder. :P Although, I HAVE been uploading a few random bits and bobs to my alternate channel. If you haven't seen 'em, check 'em out now! http://www.youtube.com/user/OneFortyVsOtherPeeps
Anyways, several reasons for this video, let's start with the most important first.
1: This was my Secret Santa to MrBretowsky, the wonderful Brazilian friend of mine (With a beard to die for) as part of the Secret Santa thing we had at the MPH. Basically, we were all given random people to make a song suited to them for (They didn't know who was making something for them though) and on Xmas day they were all uploaded to a special channel, which is this one here. http://www.youtube.com/user/MPCSecretSanta2011 I kept trying to make MrB something suited to him, and I know he liked underrated video game music, but I'm no good with that X D. So, I figured I'd remix one of his OCs, which was namely 'A life changing event' but that really failed, tried a couple more and couldn't get far...
This actually sparked up the idea for a song. I needed to thank MrB for being a great friend. I couldn't think up a present to give to him... The reason? Nobody sells love. And there you have it. Go subscribe to him! http://www.youtube.com/user/MrBretowsky I promise that's the last channel link for now.
2: Let's call this a late Christmas present to everyone else, too. Less appropriate now because this song is Christmas themed and Christmas is pretty much over, but I still reckon it's worth an upload. Better now than never.
3: Let's also maaaaybe call this an early 2 year anniversary, since so far every anniversary has had a lyrical OC. (My 1st video is unlisted atm, so very few people can see it) Hopefully I can churn something else out by then, but it'll be two years for me on January the 16th. I'd like to thank my fans for your continued support, and my haters for a quick laugh and making me a better and stronger person inside.
4: Let's face it, it's about time I got off my lazy ass and made a video anyways, right? :P
Really hope you guys like this. I got lucky on actually being focused during one weekend, and then I had the Wednesday off school due to the public sector strike in the UK a month back for me to finish it.
Not too keen on the rock bit, but overall I'm happy with this song. For once I tried to vary myself with percussion, too. :P
Tempo is a smooth 2847. This is the longest description I've ever written. Made with Hard Rock 2.0. My toe hurts. I've finally got HD working! :D
Enjoy,
~One-Forty~
Lyrics:
Snow is falling on the ground You know winter's come around Watch as the ice falls throughout the night Blankets of white
Friends and family will cheer "This Christmas is drawing near!" Resting on their couch, all curled up tight
And I would have got a present Like everybody does this time of year; But no matter where I look there's something that's clear: Nobody sells love.
Walkin' in a snowy haze Secluding the sunny rays Can't go to my gem without a gift Gotta be swift
Lookin' round a gentle store No sign of what I came for I don't want my heart to float adrift
So I would have got a present Like everybody does this time of year; But no matter where I look there's something that's clear: Nobody sells love
Can't be decorated In money can't be equated Love can't be framed upon the wall; Not at all. Love can't be put in package Then hidden away in storage Not just the ring inside your glove: NOBODY sells love.
Can't just put a price on love.Charred (Original Composition) on Mario Paint ComposerHerty2011-11-08 | So unfortunately, this isn't anything new. Infact, I haven't been able to finish ANYTHING new as of late. I'm really struggling with MPC. But yada yada yada depressive stuff aside, I figured I'd just loop this. Might make a more expansive description later. Tempo 5001, custom SF. As always, download link on request. If you can think of a better name, please do. Preferably this would have been longer, and if I have the inspiration I will extend the loop at a later date. So pretty much filler. I am also willing to make this a teamwork OC with another fairly experienced OCer. (Comment below if you're interested)
So yeah, enjoy.
~One-Forty~
P.S. It's my 15th birthday today. I have had cake. Be jealous. :3Chomper Rock (Original Composition) on Mario Paint Composer (Teamwork w/ Buckyboy2009)Herty2011-09-30 | Long titles are long. It's about time I made another OC, and this time I'm not alone! I figured that if I was gonna get something decent out, I'd need a bit of help, and fortunately Bucky was there to do just that. I created the beginning and a few seconds into the melody, Bucky wrote the middle, and I finished the loop with everything from the guitar solo onwards. I'm definitely happy I gave the 'rock' genre another shot, and I felt this came out a lot better than my previous Rock OCs. I don't think I've ever given percussion and bass a part that isn't incredibly repetitve to play. Tempo is 2,223, and it uses the same SF that I used for I can haz comeback.
And yeah, we DIDN'T mention this was a Teamwork to begin with. Our aim was to mess with people a little and it obviously worked :P
Tell me what ya think, ~One-Forty~
Original Description: It's been a while since I've made a non filler MPC, hasn't it? :P I don't really have much to say about this one, I'm just glad it's out. Hopefully you'll enjoy!
P.S Solos are fun.My Music Homework (Original Composition) on Mario Paint ComposerHerty2011-09-25 | Trololol. Everything is explained in my alt account video, but basically a couple of weeks ago I had a piece of homework that wanted me to write a melody using a motif. THAT SUCKS. Just a melody? I mean, come on... It would sound so basic and boring! ...So I put it onto MPC and played around with it. Low tempo ftw! This is actually the 1st time I've ever only used one file for a song.
Filler. Enjoy.
~One-Forty~Mary Can Haz Lamb Back on Mario Paint ComposerHerty2011-09-17 | Am I late for the fad? :3 Whipped this up in about an hour after realizing it's been about 2 years since the creation of the MPC "Mary had a little lamb" fad. Also consider this filler while I work on other things. I'm sorry I'm lazy. ;-;
Happy MLP season 2 day. :3
~One-Forty~Another Update instead of an MPC which I should really be doing at this pointHerty2011-09-04 | I know. :( Sorry M7, Sparky, not a 250 sub special. :P
~One-Forty~I Can Haz Comeback Remix on Mario Paint ComposerHerty2011-07-12 | You happy now? :P 7 weeks have passed and boy, have I been busy! As well as a lot of school projects like designing a website, learning Italian, scoring at a school Olympic event, completing 20 exams in a row... Failing most of them... Hosting the 6th, 7th, 8th, and an unofficial Mario Paint Hangout community collab... Working on finished Virus with the legendary Adolfobaez... Recording craploads of your compositions, along with other musical projects that I'll keep quiet for now...
Etc. I've been up to stuff, and have found it increasingly difficult to finish an MPC. SO. I decided I was gonna do a nice little Original Composition with OSF and a fairly low tempo, and keep it simple. I had thought of a great chord sequence, when I realized... I can haz comeback. Dayum. Meh, at least it's suitable :P
I wanted to keep it simple and low tempo so I'd actually finish it. If you're looking for another drastically epic MPC, don't look here. Sorry. I'll make up for it soon. Either way, I've still got that typical Herty style in the mix :)
I'd like to thank you all for your continued support throughout this -- 30 subs with no uploaded videos? Wow. I appreciate it, guys! Keep it up!
Thanks to IronCladPhazon for offering to record.

~One-Forty~Ultimate Medley V3 on Mario Paint Composer (200 subscriber special)Herty2011-05-23 | 1,000 views - 7th January 2012
Alright, you lot. Let's have a show of hands. Who saw this coming? :P Right in front of you is my most complex MPC yet. Original SoundFont, a tempo varying between 4,500 and 5,500 throughout the song, and some of MPC's greatest original compositions crammed into one video. All this to say thanks for getting me to 200 subscribers. C: And you know what? I really DO mean thanks. Getting 20 subs seemed like a decade away for me, never mind 200. Plus, all the support you guys have given me over the past year feels nothing short of remarkable. I could sit here for hours typing out names of everyone who's supported me, but I'm about to sit a week's worth of heavy exams so I don't really have the time. You know who you are, though. =P
So yeah, this is a medley of Mario Paint OCs which you should all recognize, like Celestia, Astro Chase and Jubilant Harmonies. It's taken me well over 2 months to put together and I'm glad I did, even if I rushed the ending.
About the 2nd song in this medley: A lot of you will recognize it as M7M3's rendition of Ravemeister. Although he didn't tell anyone this, the medley was originally a collaboration project started back in February. Unfortunately, other composers couldn't participate so that left just the two of us. Later on in the medley, M7 gave up; however I really didn't want to let some of the hardest work I've put into something go to waste so I finished it regardless. I have spoken to M7 and he is fine with the song remaining in the medley. I hope that clears everything up.
Oh, and I almost forgot! One person I really DO need to thank is ChristeriousNinja! During the making of this medley he has given me a lot of advice that really helped me make this the best it could be. Subscribe to him now! http://www.youtube.com/user/ChristeriousNinja
Aaaanyways, enjoy! Let's keep it up until 500 subscribers! ;D
I also hid an extra OC inside the medley! See if you can find it!Baby on Mario Paint ComposerHerty2011-04-25 | Edit: Holy balls. Thank you for placing me 3rd place in SotW, everyone! I'm honoured that such a hated video could actually get votes ^_^
1,000 views: 8th August 2011
...You sad people.
BEHOLD! The 2nd most hated song in the world is now on Mario Paint! (Right behind Friday). The only improvement I can think of is increasing the melody up about 6 octaves? ;-)
In all seriousness, though, I need to get more out and this is how I intend to start. I have little motivation at the moment and I need a few more ideas before I can get some more videos up... Also need to prepare a 200 sub special.
I'd like to thank Volcan for giving me a LOT of advice with soundfont creation, and for providing me with 2 samples which he then taught me to edit. SoundFont is as follows:
Mario Head: Hard Rock 1.1 Mario Head Mushroom: Electronica Mushroom Yoshi: Original Yoshi Star: Electronic Piano, raised 2 octaves and volume increased Flower: Hard Rock 1.1 Flower Gameboy: Electronica Gameboy Dog: Not used Cat: Hard Rock 1.1 cat, higher notes decreased 2 octaves Pig: Original Pig, volume increased Swan: Steinway Swan Face: Hard Rock 2.0 Face Plane: Hard Rock 1.1 Plane Boat: Electronica Boat Car: Steinway Car Heart: Bass guitar, volume increased Piranha: Hard Rock 1.1 Cat, unedited Coin: Electronica Coin Shy guy: Electronica Shy guy Boo: Not used
...How about THAT for custom? XD
Tempo is 2,000, which is fairly low for me and I had trouble fitting all the effects in. Despite that, I'm fairly pleased with the outcome and hope it rounds up some haters.
Anyways, tell me what you think! 1st arrangement in a long while!
~One-Forty~Departure in the Dusk (Original Composition) on Mario Paint ComposerHerty2011-04-08 | Wahey, a new video.
So, two things I wanna say. 1st of all, thanks to TroisNyx for the inspiration for this video -- She's incredible with the Piano SoundFont, particularly with her original songs, and she has a beautiful voice which has previously covered my song Brand New Day. Also, it's her Birthday on the 12th, so consider this an early birthday present. :3 Subscribe to her! http://www.youtube.com/user/TroisNyx The other reason I made this video was to commemorate the departure of someone who meant a lot to me and many others. No, he's not dead. He used to work at my school and 'bonded' with myself and other special needs students. Today he leaves to go to Liverpool, where to my knowledge he'll form part of a comedy act. Good luck with the future, Ed!
Anyways, the song. The tempo is 1100 to 2,223 throughout, and this is the 1st time I've created an OC that focuses on the piano. There's a small string section added, but that's more for ambience than anything else. Be sure to tell me what you think!
As for what I'm doing next? You decide. I'm working on a few secret projects but I'm keepin' my mouth shut for now.

FINALLY. This was a nightmare to make, and it still didn't turn out the way I wanted. Regardless, here is one of my most requested pieces, viva la vida. I hope you enjoy.

~One-Forty~Empires (Original Composition) on Mario Paint ComposerHerty2011-03-22 | ...More filler. DON'T HURT ME I'M SORRY
I managed to work my way into composing a song as an excuse for Latin homework, so here's my best shot. I probably could have done better, but honestly? With only a few days to do it, my undefeated ability to procrastinate and lack of Roman knowledge this is all that's gonna be given. =3
Tempo is 3334 and the soundfont is Symphony, but this time I'm using a different trumpet and violin. Your prayers have been answered, people. I do hope I'm forgiven.
Quick shout out to Mario7Mario3 for recording for me, I didn't feel like recording even though I could of myself ;-) Oh, and also, thanks a bunch to VolcanBrimstone for making this HD, some of the sounds used here, increasing the quality AND ripping some MP3s for me! http://www.mediafire.com/?5698r81dzfym195 This video http://www.mediafire.com/?oel43174wec1ctc Fanfare

Thanks to Volcan and M7 for derping on the carpet.
So basically, I've got no motivation so I'm rushing everything and making stuff sound crap. Because of this, I'm calling this filler. Y'all 'kay with that? Gooooood.
This OC used a custom soundfont, containing samples from VolcanBrimstone's Rock Orchestra and Cat333pokemon's Symphony. The tempo is 4,000 and due to slacking for over a month I'm not sure how long it took to make.
But yeah, the goal of this piece was to create something really dramatic, like you were just about to encounter a boss. Being given the name by the same person who thought up Whiplash (Woo!), I decided to give it an icy feel toward the end.
I'm not sure what I'll be uploading in future, don't expect too much from me. I 'might' take requests. Nonetheless, subscribe and I'll do what I can!
~One-Forty~More Unfinished Compositions on Mario Paint ComposerHerty2011-02-08 | Behold all my OTHER failures.
1: Keygen - Unreal Superhero Soundfont: Custom Reason for Stopping: Couldn't get melody to sound correct.
2: Unnamed - 3 Way Teamwork w/ M7M3 and P8 Soundfont: Electronica Reason for Stopping: Didn't get a response from either of them and didn't feel like finishing it myself
3: Indigo - Tom Milson (Hexachordal) Soundfont: Custom Reason for Stopping: Got frustrated with trying to perfect it when bass + drums came in. Also couldn't find a sufficient bass sample.
4: Unnamed - OC Soundfont: Orchestra Reason for Stopping: Didn't think it sounded good - This was made half a year ago.
5: Possible 100 subscriber special - OC Soundfont: Electronica Reason for Stopping: I decided I'd be best working with original soundfont, and the way it was going it sounded too much like Whiplash. Plus, I ran out of ideas.
6: LPC Revamped Yet Again Soundfont: Original Reason for Stopping: Procrastination taken to an extreme and lack of inspiration.
There's a lot of other unfinished, but my pref folder is an ocean of letters. I can't find anymore. Also, I deleted a lot of soundfonts.
~One-Forty~I failed, Im sorry.Herty2011-02-02 | UNFINISHED

~One-Forty~Desolate (Original Song) on Mario Paint ComposerHerty2011-01-31 | Just when you thought you'd seen it all, more filler comes along.
Yeah, true, it's an original song, but still filler because it was quick and I'm not that keen on it.
When was the last time I used the symphony soundfont? Geez, I need to vary myself more often. Tempo is 2,223, took about 2-3 days to create (Including procrastination) Though, as always, I failed the ending.
4th lyrical composition, no clue how many compositions it has been though. I'll go check one day...
Enjoy, ~One-Forty~
Lyrics:
Slipping away on some strange island, Far, far away from home. And till I find an escape from this place I'll roam.
Wandering round this lonely void, It's something that won't compare, Never have I undertaken so much despair.
Struggling against the tide, the ache is One sharp sting and I have tried to get rid Of the pain I always feel, however It's a sprain that only you can heal.
Traipsing across this endless stretch of Hot, incandescent sand, Grilled by the sun on this treacherous span of land.
Day after day and week by week it's Taking its toll on me. Desolate landscape when I just want to be free.
Struggling against the tide, the ache is One sharp sting and I have tried to get rid Of the pain I always feel, however It's a sprain that only you can heal.
Tired, exhausted, drained and shattered, Smashed by despondency, I've come to realize together we'll never be.
Struggling against the tide, the ache is One sharp sting and I have tried to get rid Of the pain I always feel, however It's a sprain that only you can... And of course, I made 2. =3
The songs are very poor quality and obviously rushed, but hey. That isn't the point. The point is that it's an awesome soundfont which you can get here: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=EOCGZ1BU
That's all I need to say, really. Recorded with BB Flashback AND Camtasia, edited with camtasia. Tempo is 2,108 on both.
~One-Forty~Eminent (Original Song) on Mario Paint ComposerHerty2011-01-24 | UPDATED: Yeah, this is a slightly updated version. For once I'm actually eager to win this contest, so I've re-uploaded it with a better ending and an additional instrument in the solo.
Alrighty, it's time to get back on track with an original song, which will be entered in MrGudtavosky's OC Contest!
And guess what? ORIGINAL SOUNDFONT! =D =D =D
That's right, people, after gaining inspiration from Adolfo, Levus, Mario and Balloon I've decided to give it another shot and try to pull off yet another composition of my own devising using no more than a couple of oinks miaows and hiccups.
Also yeah, my 3rd song, meaning it has lyrics. They'll be annotated soon, but there's a good chance a few people will get here before I'm finished, so I'll type them down below.
Tempo is 4,000, this took me... Hmm, probably the same as One-Forty's Theme - 10 hours spread across a weekend. I know the ending is rushed and crappy, but hopefully you guys won't mind.
Oh, one more important thing if you've got down to reading this far - I've decided to slow down on the arrangement front - I'm not really enjoying recreating other songs anymore due to frustration concerning my lack of accuracy and inability to find appropriate instruments. Sorry!
But nevertheless, subscribe and I promise to make more original compositions!

Lyrics:
Soaring through the starry skies, watching the clouds go by, You see, they are a part of me. Floating over azure seas, and zooming past the trees, Because, I am so free.
Pole to pole, I don't need an aim or goal, to glide. Aviate, I assure you you'll feel great, just ride.
Sailing over lakes of blue, so I can go imbue, Your soul. I wanna make you whole. Drift from China to Peru, with no-one else but you, C'mon, let's rock n' roll!
*Awesomely spastic GameBoy solo*
Pole to pole, I don't need an aim or goal, to glide. Aviate, I assure you you'll feel great, just ride.
Soaring through the starry skies, watching the clouds go by, You see, they are a part of me. 'His eyes turned to a shade of fiery red and the rest of his body instantly lit up with them. This was it, no turning back now. It's time to make or break my destiny.'
Thank you all once again for bringing me to yet another landmark! Getting 20 subscribers seemed like a decade away for me, never mind hitting 140, which of course is perfectly suited to my nickname.
So, the aim here was to go back to what I always do: An electronica composition. The structure is fairly similar to Whiplash, but with far more instruments, percussion layout, arpeggios, volume control and a massive tempo of 5,000, almost doubling my previous highest. I'm surprised I didn't get knocked out by breaking points.
The SoundFont is Adolfobaez's electronica, but with the piranha plant switched to the boat percussion to aid volume control. Almost all instruments were used.
This must of taken me 10 hours to make, spread across a weekend. I'm really glad I managed to get this done nice and early, but like Find My Way this video has remained unlisted for about a week.
I'd like to quickly thank a few people once again:
Pwnzin8r - He's been my 'friendly rival' ever since I started recording for him back in about June, and our styles are really similar and compatible. I've gained a lot of inspiration from him, and he's a great composer. Mario7Mario3: We started MPC at the same time, but the difference is that he progressed far faster than me. He's turned into an original soundfont god, and if you take a look at his videos you can see for yourself. I've gained the courage to keep trying new things from him. Friedfischer: While not getting to know him too personally, Fried's videos inspired me to dip my toe into the custom soundfont pool and it was definitely a smart move. Great arranger on FL Studio, MPC and many more applications, easily worth a sub. Adolfobaez: Without him, it could of been another 2 weeks before I released this, but it's here now thanks to his amazing rendition of my composition 'I can haz comeback'. As well as that, he created the electronica soundfont which I've used in my favourite pieces such as Engaging Reality and Whiplash. If you haven't seen his remix, check it out now! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BLBiXBQagcw YOU: You guys and girls have taken your time to view, rate, and comment on my videos and it keeps on encouraging me to work harder and harder, turning me into the composer I am today. Thank you!

More filler, even though it must of taken me twenty hours to upload... Stupid anti compression...
Okay, I need a name for this SoundFont. If you think of one, just comment below and tell me your idea.

~One-Forty~Find My Way (Original Song) on Mario Paint Composer (1 Year Anniversary)Herty2011-01-08 | It's been a year now? Wow. I didn't think I'd make it this far. To celebrate, I shall quit spamming random fillers and give you my latest works: Find My Way!
This is my 2nd lyrical composition, after Brand New Day. I'm tempted to work with it more in the future, since I've really become attached to this. I personally think this song is quite emotional, if somewhat repetitive.
I've actually kept this unlisted for a week, waiting till Janurary 16th to release it. I was hoping to combine it with a One-Forty subscriber special, but I guess I'll have to work on that now... Hopefully I won't be late... =S
This uses my custom soundfont, like Depression and Happy Ending.

Lyrics, for those of you who have annotations off:
I wake up from my fantasy and then I scream -- Just a dream.
I've lost my heart and soul -- And self esteem.
You kicked me out and now I don't know what to do -- Not a clue.
The only thing I wanted lives in you.
I don't know why I continuously try...
I mean, you've already smashed my hopes and shouted goodbye.
Nothing, is ever gonna happen, if I bring back the past.
I don't know what the hell has happened to me,
I mean, you're my only vision; you're the thing that I see.
I've gotta find a way out of my problem fast...
Life's so unfair, yet I'm starting to not even care.
Probably not today, but I'll eventually find my way.
One final word, but I know that I'll remain unheard.
Only thing I will say, is that I'm gonna go find my way.
It's been a while and no-one's here to hear me moan -- All alone.
Over a year yet I know I ain't grown.
I really need to become so much more aware -- Oh, I swear.
All these events are far more than I can bear.
I don't know why I continuously try...
I mean you've, already smashed my hopes and shouted goodbye.
Nothing, is ever gonna happen, if I bring back the past. Woah-oh-oh.
I don't know what the hell has happened to me,
I mean, you're my only vision; you're the thing that I see.
I've gotta find a way out of my problem fast...
Life's so unfair, yet I'm starting to not even care.

My 1st present is 2 un-uploaded tunes from a year ago, before my 1st YouTube video. I've kept them ever since to look back on and now I'm sharing them with you guys.

My 3rd present is some more original soundfont works. I made my own short remix of Silent Night. In all fairness, I didn't put THAT much effort into it, but it's still of uploadable quality.
Mario Paint is all about having fun, as well as occasionally making some serious tunes. Today I bring fun, as my 4th present for those who make it to the last minute of the video.
