The Sakura D5-RR Pro is a very nice looking chassis with the red trim on the aluminum parts. Surprisingly, it drifts better than the AuperD5 did out of the box. I noticed the steering geometry looked very similar to the regular D5-RR and D5-MR chassis. Nez0s Bad Shoppe: NERD Dampers & Spring Retainers For Yokomo SLF Big Bore Shocks Shakedown Nez0s Bad Shoppe 2023-01-12 | 0o0o0o0o NERD :D I sent the owner of the car with the freshly installed NERD Dampers onto the track after setting up the shocks to feel similar to how the overall feeling was previously to make sure the car drove OK and then we could proceed to playing around with settings. The chassis that these were installed on is a Reve-D MC-1. By the time Joe handed me his radio for me to go for some laps he had some some tinkering and I could feel the difference between the previous setup and the NERD setup corner to corner. It was very neato for sure :D Worth it? mmmmmm only if you like parting ways with lots of $$ for ultra fancy / be a bit different. Do they work? Many peoples came out to play and run in our 4th round of our Point Series but also several equipment failures occurred including 3 motors , & 1 ESC and 1 servo lol. One of the motors grenaded itself which also took out the ESC. Wildness but the ESC was 4 years old so we aren't sure which part took out which. Nez0s Bad Shoppe @ Strickly Sidewayz: RC OMG Bad Shoppe Electronics 2023 Shakedown Nez0s Bad Shoppe 2022-12-22 | Purple stuff :D I promptly got four components installed for immediate testing and shakedown :D Early impression is great! The chassis I chose to install all these lovely purple pieces into is the new generation spec Yokomo MD 1.0. Love the sound the motor makes under boosting :D The internal fan inside the motor car works good and the motor was not hot at all. The speed controller (ESC) settings were changed from factory to my preferred settings and I am pleased with its response and boosting potential. The gyro I need to get familiar with but I did discover that you need to manually change a switch to change the gyro's dual mode, you cannot use the radio's high / low settings on 3rd channel to change the mode via radio. So far tho the gyro works good but I want to test it in more cars for sure. In this video I demonstrate the operations and testing procedures you can use to examine the motors. This remix of the shakedown series will showcase great examples of modified by aftermarket parts or excellent kit versions of drift machines I own or that I come across from other RC drift enthusiasts :D A big hello to this particular chassis for two reasons; one I've always loved these chassis because of the "Weightshift Meister" nickname and two is because I have owned this actual chassis a couple of times over the course of the last few years. This RE-R began drifting back at Galaxy Hobby's drift track in 2016 which this version was released and has had many tune setups and parts changed over time. It most recently was sitting on a shelf until some trading occured and it ended up with me eventually. I decided to install whatever spare electronics I could to get this running once again for this video. The shocks are actually Overdose and there is a ball differential too! Front drivetrain is also installed for that neato rolling inertia effect :D The current tune setup is alright surprisingly running on nearly dead DS Racing LF-3 tires. This car may get some future tuning but it is not a high priority project currently. I also debated acquiring the latest version of the RE-R which I believe is "2021". This car is awesome out of the box and here I lay out my build process and things I noticed in the manual etc. The MST manual's are very well laid out and printed so you can see many things very clearly. There is some extra stuff at the back of the manual which is very helpful for first time builders. Nez0s Bad Shoppe @ Strickly Sidewayz: MST MRX GT Shakedown Out Of Box Nez0s Bad Shoppe 2022-12-11 | Oh. Emm. Gee. I love this car already. Like it has exceeded all my expectations and then some! The settings are all kit manual spec from the factory *except* for shock preload which is only 2.5mm. This chassis wants to drift and wants you to drift it with gusto...like just pump the throttle and work it! ALMOST new favourite car...ALMOST! Im raving about it because it really is THAT good out of the box and has in my opinion is making a statement for 2022...MST is 100% committed to high level performance for this next generation of RC RWD Drifting. I am blown away by this car's performance, quality and fitment/finish of all the carbon/aluminum parts. Consider this MRX GT a VIP level chassis mmhmm. Oh and also the Quick Change FD/D1 style drivetrain does work well and has the old school MST drivetrain noises from the FXX DS/VIP chassis of the past which brought back good memories :D All this goodness HOWEVER i did discover that the aggressive mode ESC mounting requires purchase of additional parts that were not included in the box but honestly right now the car drives so well im not even worried BUT...i wanna try it yiss :D Also I decided to install my new Acuvance ESC & Motor without even tuning the settings and I LOVE IT YISSSSS but that is a story for another video hehehe! Nez0s Bad Shoppe: Yokomo SD 1.0 Super Drift Constructors Digest Nez0s Bad Shoppe 2022-12-05 | Tips, infos, tricks and other notes along the journey of the building and completion of a RC car kit brought to you by Nez0 :D The new Yokomo chassis era has begun in 2022 with 3 new chassis kits, this one is the SD 1.0 aka "Super Drift". A lot of configuration options are available between the 2 transmission types and battery placements. The car looks good too and give me throwback vibes of every single YD-2 series flavour (E, S, R & Z). I also had to address the out of box front steering geometry as it is sloppy and causes the car to be unstable when drifting unless you run next to no ride height. I really hope that is not the new out of box standard...Yokomo please rethink the out of box front steering geometry! Otherwise I do like this chassis so I will give it a proper tuning and attack testing :D Hopefully this guide will help you build your chassis kit! Enjoy the video!
Nez0s Bad Shoppe: Yokomo YD-2 ZS Constructors Digest Nez0s Bad Shoppe 2022-12-05 | Tips, infos, tricks and other notes along the journey of the building and completion of a RC car kit brought to you by Nez0 :D Another day, another YD-2 ;) This flavour is the "Z" spec with "S" style 4 gear high motor transmission. The only difference between the "Z" and "ZS" versions is the 4 gear transmission. Still, this digest should help you complete your chassis in the best way possible :) I also outline the front end out of box geometry which needs a rethink from Yokomo if they want new drifters to have a chance at out of box drifting because the selected front end settings do not work well on track and I show you why. Nez0s Bad Shoppe @ Strickly Sidewayz: Yokomo SD 1.0 Super Drift Shakedown Out Of Box Nez0s Bad Shoppe 2022-11-24 | So0o0oo I got the SD 1.0 all assembled and wired up for the out of box shakedown and decided it should have a new name..."Stance Drift". The reason? The front suspension's ride height must be set really low, like 1mm, so that the steering geometry works properly to allow for some smooth drifting. Just like the YD-2 ZS that was recently filmed, this chassis also suffers from the dreaded bump steer (its...a lot) and without having the ride height low we end up with lots of crab walkin' slow-mo drifting lol Still, I could tell that with a tune this SD 1.0 will become more super in feel. The light light weight slide rack and aluminum chassis are decent and the SD 1.0 feels similar weight to a YD-2 SX3. More videos and some tuning to come for this chassis. Enjoy the video! :)
Nez0s Bad Shoppe: Yokomo SD 1.0 Super Drift Unboxing Nez0s Bad Shoppe 2022-11-21 | The 2nd offering of the next generation of Yokomo drift chassis is here! At first it appears to be just a bunch of previous generation YD-2 parts thrown together. Once the box was open however I began to notice things that indicate this is indeed super mode. The included parts however give more building options than previous YD-2 models so that is very interesting. This chassis looks to be promising and I am intrigued to find out how it works on track and in a shootout against some other chassis very soon! There is some carbon fiber and aluminum in the box and crucially...Yokomo Big Bore Aluminum shocks.This box design signifies that this is the final revision of the "S" kit as there have been a couple of updates through its life. Although this flavour of YD-2 is now discontinued it should still be available at some hobby shops while stock lasts. Although this flavour of YD-2 is now discontinued it should still be available at some hobby shops while stock lasts. Nez0s Bad Shoppe @ Strickly Sidewayz: MST RMX 2.5RS Shakedown Out Of Box Nez0s Bad Shoppe 2022-11-13 | This MST chassis I was excited to try as I know the RMX 2.0 RTR versions work well out of the box and the KMW 2.0/3.0 versions are very sweaty :D Enter the RMX 2.5RS...a nice looking machine that appears to be a cross between the v2 and the v3 RMX family. This thing drives awesome out of the box! The manual's settings work very well and do include shock preload settings w00t! It gave me small echos of the ol classis FXX-D VIP level of sendo and angle but with the gusto of the mid-motor setup. The updated thick gear transmission is also a very nice update and works very well. There is a ball diff at the rear wheels and you can tell :) I was only going to verify it for 5-10 minutes and ended up draining most of the battery because I was enjoying it s0o0o0 much :D This machine will definitely get a sweaty setup and more videos. Nez0s Bad Shoppe @ Strickly Sidewayz: Yokomo YD-2 ZS Shakedown Out Of Box Nez0s Bad Shoppe 2022-11-13 | Alrighty I was expecting good things from this chassis as its sister the "Z" drove decent out of the box. However this chassis was a bit of a handful...and its really odd. You see, the front half of the "ZS" is exactly the same as the "Z" chassis...the parts, measurements, settings...the same. The difference is in the rear end of the chassis but somehow the steering geometry on my "ZS" would only sorta drift when I had next to no preload in the front shocks so that the ride height was about 2mm. When the ride height was higher say 8mm, the geometry would result in crab-walking and the chase wheel having more angle than the lead wheel when drifting. Also a lot of bump steer occurs during full suspension travel. I triple checked the manuals and parts and measurements and somehow my "Z" and "ZS" machines have different geometry by a small margin lol. I talk about it in the video. The "ZS" chassis will be decent with a minor tweak (I tested when troubleshooting) however I wanted to show it in out of box form so i stressed the verification of the settings etc. If you have a YD-2 ZS chassis please let me know your thoughts / experience. It's not a car unboxing! lol Anyways joking aside yiss the new Futaba 10PX radio system is here (well been here for a lil bit now) and I acquired one but didn't get around to setting it up until today. I previously opened the box myself to add batteries off screen so we could all enjoy the powering up together :D I used to touring car race and used a Futaba 3PJ radio (which I still own and still works!) so I have high expectation for this radio. I have helped setup many Futaba 7PX radios but never owned a 7PX. I currently use Sanwa MT-S and MT-4S radios on my main cars and Sanwa MX-6 radios on my rental cars. Also there is one neat feature I can't wait to test out :D :D :D Enjoy the video!

This remix of the shakedown series will showcase great examples of modified by aftermarket parts or excellent kit versions of drift machines I own or that I come across from other RC drift enthusiasts :D Another Nez0 fleet machine, this one is special for sure! You are looking at the one of the two launch version releases of the Yokomo YD-2, this one is the Plus version (there was also a basic all plastic version). This version had some aluminum upgrades included in the box and later I added some gold screws. I was lucky when I ordered this car kit to be picked to have it shipped out approx a week early and got it before most other people did. Another fellow drifter Leo who at the time was running the CosmoRC drift track had ordered the basic version and we got to test our new cars side by side on his track which was ceramic tile (good times, many reverse entries). The very first corner we attempted...we both reversed entried and easily handled the rest of the corner. We were shocked, the other guys were shocked lol. We passed our radios around. Within the next few weeks a lot of us had brand new YD-2's and the new generation of RC drifting was born and nearly 8 years later the final evolution YD-2 "Z" version has been developed. More trophies were earned with this car using several different bodies. The Nissan Stagea R35 body was just something I had sitting around from a trade and randomly mounted it up :D This car means a lot to me and will also be preserved with original release parts and will not be upgraded to current specs. The tune on the chassis is also from several years ago and will probably stay that way. If anyone knows of how I can obtain a YD-2 Basic original bad boy roller or kit (in properly good used or new condition) please hit me up! :)

This remix of the shakedown series will showcase great examples of modified by aftermarket parts or excellent kit versions of drift machines I own or that I come across from other RC drift enthusiasts :D This car is from my own fleet...a MST FXXD-S plastic fantastic chassis that has done a lot for me and many others since late 2015 when I added it to my fleet. The car is pretty much all plastic with only a few upgrades to the steering rack, transmission, upgraded version of the aluminum main driveshaft and oddly not too long ago I added a MST ball differential. What started out as a joke among a few of us back in the day resulted in me acquiring this chassis as an outdoor car (telling my buddy Brett of Strickly Sidewayz) that is was pooey and only was good enough to be my outdoor car lol Little did I know it was actually quite good and once those few upgraded were applied it really performed quite well for being on the budget side with plastic shocks and fixed turnbuckle links (it still has them!). I then started driving it on our track and people could not believe it was more plastic than aluminum. It also served as a camera car many many times over the years (tons of footage on here). It was a great trainer / rental car at times and a lot of my buddies I still drift with to this day learned something from this car. The body shown in the video later is the body I installed on it in 2016 (I had twin bodies made, the other lives on my YD-2 ZX Purple currently) and will probably never change that :) The car overall did very well on high traction surfaces such as carpet but could throw down on low traction surfaces as well. This car has won me a couple of trophies so the sentimental value is through the roof :D You will see how unmatched this setup is with our polished concrete track at Strickly Sideways however I simply wanted to get it out of the stable and stretch her legs and show her off in this Classic Fantastic showcase. I started calling it the "Secret Weapon" after it kept surprising people early on that it was budget level and not VIP level :D I don't want to change anything about her as she is a great time capsule :D Enjoy the video! :D
Nez0s Bad Shoppe @ Strickly Sidewayz: Yokomo MD 1.0 Shakedown Partial Sweaty Tune Nez0s Bad Shoppe 2022-11-08 | Alrighty so0o0o I got around to playing with some settings and I made some hardware changes to my Yokomo MD 1.0 (Master Drift) chassis. This included upgrading several parts on the Yokomo Big Bore shock dampers and suspension geometry changes. I call this tune the "Partial Sweaty" as I wanted to see what kind of effect an immediate overhaul of the shock dampers would do along with some camber, caster, toe and steering lock adjustments. This tune will see refinements over some time and after a few people drive it at our local track and express their feedbacks :) I will list the parts used in this tune and the settings I applied below. Results of this shakedown? The MD 1.0 is drifting quite well now and I am happy but needs a little attention to the high angle drifting...I suspect I need to further tune the rear shock dampers and their positions so I will focus there next. The build went pretty smoothly and largely follows the same building path as the standard Sakura D5 MR version with a couple of changes such as suspension arms and motor mount positioning but otherwise the parts are the same. The camera got too sweaty during filming and shut itself off lol you will see that towards the end of the video lol. This remix of the shakedown series will showcase great examples of modified by aftermarket parts or excellent kit versions of drift machines I own or that I come across from other RC drift enthusiasts :D This particular machine was previously owned and built by Bad Shoppe Team Driver Sebastian B. and was the results of a painstaking effort to create the most perfectly pink Sakura D4 chassis using the finest blend of the best available aftermarket parts at the time. The tuning is very light and it was built and then tested and was put away to be tuned in detail later...well the time now :D The parts listing includes pink bits from 3Racing, Overdose, Yeah Racing, Boom Racing, Usukani, Slidelogy, OMG & Venom to name most of them from memory. It is the most pink D4 I have ever seen or owned...and I have owned 3 to date (including this one) The chassis only has run time of about 4 runs total across 3 sessions over approx 5 years and has lived most of its life on the shelf so it is in amazing pristine condition. Nez0s Bad Shoppe @ Strickly Sidewayz: 3Racing Sakura D5 Lite Shakedown Out Of Box Nez0s Bad Shoppe 2022-10-30 | IT'S So0o0o0o0o0o0o CUTEEEEE 0mg hehehe! Look at it go! Weeeeee! Ok but seriously I love it and it drives really good out of the box. No joke. I expected it to be a bit tricky because of the shorter wheelbase at 210mm (like Tamiya's M Chassis *short* wheelbase cars) but it is really stable. I was even able to drift it using the kit wheels (5mm offset) and tires which usually don't work that well on our polished concrete track but it was ok however the 5mm wheels hit the lower suspension arm and front shocks at high angle (a well known thing/issue) so I of course swapped those out for 9mm MST wheels with Yokomo DRC *C* tires installed and boy oh boy all the angle was available and it was banging doors on my friendo's cars without sweatin' :D Above all, it is majorly adorable and I will find the right body for it :D Since I had no body ready for filming I enabled *Party Mode* on the ESC aww yiss :D Funny story: the "quick release" wheel system aka the wheel screws came loose on the rear tires twice during testing even with loctite applied so those will be changed out, I no longer want those in my D5's lol. Nez0s Bad Shoppe @ Strickly Sidewayz: 3Racing Sakura Auper D5 Blue Shakedown Out Of Box Nez0s Bad Shoppe 2022-10-30 | Well one thing is for sure...this machine looks magnificent on track drifting and sitting still :D On the other hand the out of box setup works but is not the greatest. This is definitely a chassis for the tuners out there. The car was pre-built at the factory and I found multiple loose screws along with the entire steering rack being super loose upon first inspections. I did quick checks of the suspension setup to make sure it would drift and while the Auper D5 drifts alright out of the box up to medium drift angle beyond that it is very unstable due to the steering geometry at high steering lock. The shocks were also a little stiff and needed to be "woken up" before the chassis started responding properly. With a nice tune and shock rebuild this chassis should be very good as I could tell there is big potential here. I will give this beautiful blue machine a nice tweaking and send it back out for a longer shakedown. You will hear me begin to point out some of the things I am mentioning here in text during the drifting. Nez0s Bad Shoppe: 3Racing Sakura AuperD5 Pre-Assembled Unboxing Nez0s Bad Shoppe 2022-10-25 | Aww yiss! :D The limited edition Sakura D5, the "Auper D5" has been added to my collection! Even though this chassis does not have a number attached to it, it will still hold a special place in my museum of chassis. This is a full on VIP level edition of the D5, complete with some new parts added just for this version. The aluminum parts look epic with the blue highlights on the black parts. This chassis should be a performer on track and I cannot wait to tune it up and really see it dance on track. I did forget to mention that this chassis did not come with wheels or tires but frankly that's ok because they upgraded the magnet body mounts :D Be on the lookout for more comparison videos and driving footage! Nez0s Bad Shoppe: HPI RS4 Sport 2 Kit 4WD 1/10 Scale Touring Car Dumpster Find Nez0s Bad Shoppe 2022-10-24 | Everyone has a story of something they found still good in the garbage. In a new series of videos called "Dumpster Finds" I will investigate the state of a RC vehicle that was discarded in some form and found either by myself or a fellow RC hobbyist. This particular find is a sweet HPI RS4 Sport 2 1/10 scale touring car kit with original box! A great way to kick off this series of videos! I am a huge fan of the vintage HPI RS4 series having raced touring cars in the mid to late 1990's with a HPI RS4 Pro 2 chassis. Nez0s Bad Shoppe: Traxxas Rustler 2WD Stadium Truck 1/10 RTR Unboxing Nez0s Bad Shoppe 2022-10-23 | I've decided my truck's name shall be George Rustler ;) This was so much fun and we were smiling the whole time! Great for a first timer to start off in the wonderful hobby that is Radio Control vehicles. I wanted to test the claim that these are "ready to race" as the box says so I had batteries ready and sent it straight into my backyard. Seconds later, we go to the Bad Shoppe Grass Attack Circuit (lack of better track name lol) for lapping! Shoutout to my teammate Jay and my roomate Jeff for providing some fun driving moments.
