The Expanse Season 6: Cara Gee and Keon Alexander on the Series Finale
updated
From Hallie Meyers-Shyer comes the full-hearted character piece Goodrich. Keaton plays Andy Goodrich, a workaholic whose life is turned upside down when his wife enters a rehab program. While she's away, Andy is left caring for his young children alone. Soon, he finds himself leaning on his daughter from his first marriage, Grace (Kunis), as she watches him turn into the father she never had.
During this interview, Kunis and Keaton talk with Collider's own Steve Weintraub to pore over Goodrich. Together, they ran the gamut, discussing Family Guy, Beetlejuice, Mr. Mom, and so many other beloved properties. They also spoke kindly about their childhood upbringing and how they used those memories and feelings to perform in their new film.

French actor Denis Ménochet has had quite an impressive career as well, recently appearing in Ari Aster’s Beau Is Afraid, Wes Anderson’s The French Dispatch, and, perhaps most famously, Quentin Tarantino’s Inglourious Basterds. His character Sylvain Broulez, the President of France, often butts heads with Ortmann as they try to one-up each other at the annual G7 Summit — something that becomes problematic when things begin descending into chaos. Will they be able to work together to finish their statement about the global crisis going on? Or will bog bodies and a giant brain prove too much to handle?
Collider got the chance to speak to Blanchett and Ménochet about being inspired by real-life politicians like Angela Merkel, what they love about Guy Maddin’s films, the similarities between Hollywood and politics, and more.

In the movie, a single mother (Davis) at her wit's end takes a moment to read a bedtime story to her son, Sam (Wiseman), but when they flip through the pages of this mysterious book, a menacing entity manifests in their home.
To celebrate the anniversary of her film, Kent headed to Fantastic Fest 2024 where she sat down with Collider's Perri Nemiroff to take a look back at the last decade of a post-Babadook world. During their discussion, which you can watch in the video above or read below, Kent talks about the freedom to confront taboos in genre filmmaking, the original concept that started it all, and her reaction to the warmest reception to her chilling creation. She also talks about the inspiration behind the Babadook's look and sound, shares her personal horror film recommendation, and reveals some tidbits about her next horror movie!

On a move across the country, one couple, Sage (Hasson) and Diego (Pigossi), rent a sprawling lakeside home in the hopes of reconnecting with each other. It's been a trying year, but a relaxing, intimate getaway sounds like just the ticket. What should be a dream vacation, however, quickly devolves into a nightmare when they realize the house is double booked. When they tentatively agree to share the space with the new couple, Cin (Nechita) and Will (Roe), things get really weird and deadly fast.
While at the festival, Morgan, Nechita, and Pigossi sat down with Nemiroff to give us an idea of what it's actually like on the set of a blood and guts-heavy horror movie. From a well-versed genre director and self-proclaimed "cute goth kid" and two genre newbies, we learn the ins and outs of character dynamics and development, filming on a tight schedule, and the importance of a cast's on-set relationships.

In the film, Timpson and screenwriter Toby Harvard (The Greasy Strangler) take audiences on a whimsical adventure with 11-year-old Mildred (Fisher) and her estranged father, the washed-up magician Strawn Wise (Wood). When Mildred's mother has an accident that leaves her in a coma, Mildred convinces Strawn to go on a camping trip in search of the mythical Canterbury Panther in southern New Zealand, where they find themselves not only fighting with each other but for survival.
At this year's Fantastic Fest, Nemiroff sat down to discuss Timpson and Wood's continued collaboration. They talked about what they learned from the production of Come to Daddy, the wisdom Wood's young co-star imparted to the veteran actor, their favorite franchises, and Oz Perkins' next horror movie, an adaptation of the Stephen King short story, The Monkey.

The Penguin’s story began in The Batman, where he was not yet the crime lord of Gotham that he eventually evolves into. But the wheels were set in motion for him to continue down a path that would get him to that very place. Because The Batman had a lot of ground to cover, the character’s time in his story was just far too brief, so this TV series was born out of that, to fill in some blanks prior to the sequel.
During this interview with Collider, Farrell and prosthetics designer Mike Marino talked about the process of fine-tuning the character’s appearance, where they drew inspiration from for the final look, the deep psychological and emotional dive into character for the series, and getting to know Oz, inside and out.

With El Dorado behind them and Poguelandia in front of them, the Pogues should be at peace now, right? Wrong! Outer Banks Season 4 pulls the Pogues back into a new treasure hunt after a series of mistakes and bad luck lead them to losing the majority of the money they earned from the gold of El Dorado. While not nearly as bonkers as their trip down to South America, Season 4 Part 1 throws wrenches and twists into the lives of the Pogues. From struggling with massive property taxes on their beloved home to facing off against deadly mercenaries who are ready to kill anyone who gets in their way, the kids have their work cut out for them after those 18 months of peace if they want to get to Blackbeard's treasure before anyone else.
Of the gang, the newest addition, Cleo (Carlacia Grant), gets the roughest deal of the bunch when her old captain and father-figure Terrance (Terence Rosemore) is killed in front of her after a scuffle with the mercenary Lightner (Rigo Sanchez). We spoke with both Carlacia Grant and Jonathan Daviss about how the events of the season affect their characters. Daviss reflected on whether or not Pope was resentful of his missed opportunities because of the Pogues. He also pointed out what about these adventures draws Pope in so much. Grant talked about officially joining the OBX and being a part of the Pogues this season. The two actors talked about working together on the romance between Pope and Chloe, and then Grant went into detail about the death of Terrance and how that will affect Cleo going forward.

From executive producer James Wan and Atomic Monster, Peacock's new series Teacup is doing an excellent job building suspense up the suspense in the first two episodes. At this year's Fantastic Fest, the cast and creator, Ian McCulloch, attended the festival for the World Premiere of the series, where Collider's Perri Nemiroff had the opportunity to pick their brains.
What we do know about Teacup is that Season 1 has eight episodes that center around the Chenoweth family and their neighbors, the Shanleys, in rural Georgia. As sci-fi horror is wont to do, the picturesque country life we were first introduced to not only hides tensions brewing beneath the surface of the two families but a sinister threat has them trapped on their land.
While at Fantastic Fest, cast members Scott Speedman, Chaske Spencer, Rob Morgan, Emilie Bierre, and Caleb Dolden joined their showrunner to discuss the series in two groups. During this conversation, Perri sits down with McCulloch, Spencer, and Morgan to discuss their partnership with Wan and Atomic Monster and crafting unforgettable characters and their strengths and weaknesses throughout a show that will test all their limits. We'll also find out what it was like constructing that first major death of the series and how Steven Spielberg's Jaws inspired the showrunner's approach to how they handled the more macabre elements of the show.

Morris won audiences' hearts as the prank-loving Winston Bishop on New Girl, but this year, the actor earned his first Primetime Emmy for his role as Trooper Witt Farr on the acclaimed series Fargo. Next, he’ll be slinging monochromatic justice with Nicolas Cage in the upcoming Spider-Noir. Cult audiences the world over know Hunt as Anna, the voice-belting, zombie-slaying heroine from Anna and the Apocalypse. Since then, Hunt has starred in Apple TV+’s Dickenson alongside Hailee Steinfeld. Smith cut his teeth on Broadway against Emilia Clark in Breakfast at Tiffany’s. He’s also been cast by esteemed director Todd Haynes twice, first in Carol, next in May/December. He’s known to television audiences as the Riddler, Edward Nygma on FOX’s Gotham. Now, Morris, Hunt, and Smith star in Saturday Night, the new roller coaster SNL biopic.
In this interview, Morris, Smith, and Hunt sat down with Collider’s Steve Weintraub to discuss all the moments during shooting that made them ask “WTF?” They also talk about the details of improvising as their famous counterparts and their implicit creative trust in director, Reitman.

The two make for delicious enemies in Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story, which centers on the high-profile 1989 murders of José (Javier Bardem) and Kitty Menendez (Chloë Sevigny) by their sons, Lyle (Nicholas Alexander Chavez) and Erik (Cooper Koch), with the two alleging years of sexual abuse. Lane takes on the role of Dominick Dunne, a Vanity Fair writer who covered the murder trial extensively and is skeptical of the boys’ story. Graynor plays Erik’s relentless but compassionate lawyer Leslie Abramson. The two’s equally strong and vastly different opinions on the matter lead them to butt heads, and seeing Lane and Graynor play off each other in this way is endlessly entertaining.
Collider got the chance to speak with Lane and Graynor about their characters and some of their most intense scenes, including the breathtaking Episode 5 (the entirety of which is one long take of Graynor and Koch in an interrogation room) and Lane’s heartbreaking conversation about his daughter with a cater waiter.

The Pogues are back, and we're back in the OBX! Season 4 Part 1 of Outer Banks just debuted on Netflix, and wow, is it a chaotic ride. From the peaceful life after building their beloved Poguelandia to fighting underwater against mercenaries, the Pogues quickly go from a relatively domestic life after the events of El Dorado to a new adventure seeking out the treasure of Blackbeard. Despite surviving the likes of Carlos Singh (Andy McQueen) and Ward Cameron (Charles Esten), you'd think our band of misfits would have it a bit easier, but after a series of poor financial choices and bad luck leads them to needing more money, the Pogues go back to what they're best at. This time there's pirates and curses, but what remains true for the show is that it continues to have some shocking plot twists. By the time Part 1 is over, we're already clamoring for Part 2.
We spoke with Madelyn Cline and Madison Bailey about Season 4 Part 1 to dig into some of the major developments of the season as well as look deeper into their characters' interactions with the other people in their lives. Cline talked specifically about Sarah's complicated relationship with her brother Rafe (Drew Starkey), discussing if there's potential for reconciliation one day. She also touches on the loss of Sarah's father after Season 3 and how Sarah is coping with it. Cline spoke about working with Chase Stokes on cultivating the relationship between Sarah and John B. Bailey talked about the possibility for Kiara to make up with her parents — who we last saw kicking her out after she escaped Kitty Hawk thanks to JJ (Rudy Pankow). Bailey also touched on Kiara's unique sense of justice in the show, something we see come out fully in Episode 4 "The Swell" when facing off against the Kooks. Finally, Bailey mentions JJ and Kiara's relationship and working out the details of the relationship with Pankow.

Outer Banks is finally back, and although it starts off a bit slower than previous seasons, by the end of Season 4 Part 1, we are back to our old ways with the Pogues. After finding the treasure of El Dorado — and barely managing to escape with a small chunk of it before the entry gets blown up — the Pogues are back in the OBX. The season kicks off with a flashback to filling in all the gaps of the 18-month time jump, from the Pogues getting the windfall of money they need from the gold to building their own Poguelandia, to subsequently losing all that money and ending up in a bind again. The season is a roller coaster of events that stems from their meeting with Wes Genrette (David Jensen), who asks them to go on yet another treasure hunt.
This time, they're going after Blackbeard's treasure. Well... kind of. Wes is looking for a specific amulet that belonged to Blackbeard's wife, hoping to break a superstitious curse that's been on his family, and the Pogues just need the money. But, if there's treasure, there are also people waiting to take it from the Pogues, and Part 1 ends with more than a few shocking twists.
We spoke with Chase Stokes, Rudy Pankow, and Drew Starkey about some of the highlights of Part 1 for each of their characters. Stokes talked about John B losing his father in the aftermath of their trip to El Dorado and his reluctance to get back into the treasure hunting game. Starkey also spoke about Rafe coping with the loss of his father (parents in this show have a short expiration date) and how his new relationship with Sofia has changed Rafe for the better. Pankow weighed in on JJ's relationship with Kiara and some of the challenges they might end up facing. He also spoke about his reaction to the plot twist that revealed that Luke (Gary Weeks) isn't JJ's biological father and JJ is instead a Genrette and therefore a Kook.

Saturday Night is a real-time, narrative recreation of the chaotic premiere of Saturday Night Live in 1975. At the center is young Lorne Michaels (played by The Fabelman’s Gabriel LaBelle) as he excitedly corrals messy writers, a wild studio set, and up-and-coming talent John Belushi (Matt Wood), Gilda Radner (Ella Hunt), and Chevy Chase (Cory Michael Smith) among a lively and epically large cast.
Collider’s Steve Weintraub had the pleasure of chatting with Reitman to discuss Saturday Night and how the filmmaker quantifies the film somewhere between an action flick and a full-on musical. He also shared secrets behind juggling a cast of 80 speaking roles, important lessons he culled from his iconic father, and how Saturday Night took subtle inspiration from Point Break.

He co-stars with Jessica Raine, who leads the series as the frazzled Lucy Chambers, a woman who’s discovered that her life and that of her son’s is tied to Gideon’s — as well as the fate of everyone around her — in ways she could never have imagined. The second season takes a turn from eerie mystery to a ticking time bomb of a procedural, as Gideon and Lucy must work together to prevent a devastating crime, all the while coping with memories of…let’s call them other lives.
Neither of them are anything like their overwhelmed (and in some cases, deadly) characters in person, though. Both bright and kind, they were keen to answer my questions when I sat down to talk with them at the junket for the second season, where I was buzzing with excitement so badly I could hardly get a sentence out straight. (What can I say? Capaldi’s always been my Doctor.)
Coping with playing multiple versions of the same characters in Season 2, we spoke about how they kept each timeline straight, as well as what they do to ground themselves in Lucy and Gideon’s fragile minds, and figuring out their increased relationship in Season 2.
Stream The Devil’s Hour on Prime Video now and look out for Capaldi’s upcoming album, Sweet Illusions.

As a film about the transformational power of travel and how journeying outside your usual life can make you see yourself in a new light, the film relies heavily on the engaging and convincing dynamic between Dern and Hemsworth. Thankfully, there’s no shortage of that connection. While in conversation with the two for the film, now on Netflix, it’s fun to see the pair’s undeniable chemistry on and off-screen. Their playful banter, as seen with their affectionate names for each other — “Dernsy” and “Hemsy” — highlights their relationship that extends beyond their roles and adds a sincerity that translates seamlessly into their characters’ complex love story. However, outside creating palpable chemistry that will excite audiences, their journeys and vulnerabilities as actors added layers to the film.

Greg Hardin is experiencing the filmmaker’s ultimate thrill of a lifetime. From producing an original screenplay, getting into a prestigious festival, inciting a bidding war, to streaming on the largest platform on the planet, this writer-director is genuinely living the dream. With an incredible young cast, a fresh story, and a brand-new style of editing, Hardin’s comedy-thriller It’s What’s Inside stunningly sold to Netflix for an astounding $17 million, making it the largest deal made at the year’s Sundance Film Festival. Now, Hardin's little indie-that-could is celebrating its much-anticipated streaming drop this weekend.
It's What's Inside centers on a group of friends coming together for a pre-wedding party. Soon, the gathering descends into an existential hell after an uninvited guest arrives with a mysterious game, awakening deep-seated secrets, dreams, and conflicts. The film stars James Morosini (I Love My Dad), Nina Bloomgarden, (The Resort), Alycia Debnam-Carey (Fear The Walking Dead), and Brittany O'Grady (The White Lotus), Gavin Leatherwood (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina), Reina Hardesty (Brockmire), Devon Terrell (Barry), and David Thompson (Gotham).
During this interview, Hardin talks with Collider’s Steve Weintraub about his new Netflix hit. They discuss the filmmaker's early days to selling his movie in a massive bidding war, the mandates he set for himself when writing the screenplay, and Hardin’s personal brand of visceral filmmaking dubbed “anxiety chic.” For more on deleted scenes, what changed throughout production, and that twist, check out the full conversation in the video above or the transcript below.

You might not have known Koch and Chavez’s names before this, but you certainly will after. The show sinks or swims based on their performance, and the layers and vulnerability they bring to the screen help the show soar. Their twisted chemistry with Javier Bardem and Chloë Sevigny, who play their parents, is necessary and undeniable, and their dynamic with one another acts as the heart and soul of the show, anchoring it with authenticity and emotion throughout the gruesome events and reveals.
Collider got the chance to speak with Koch and Chavez about shooting the show’s most intense scenes (including the long take in Episode 5 and the murders themselves), how they developed chemistry with one another, and more.

Teacup is based on Robert McCammon's New York Times bestselling novel, Stinger. Written for the screen by showrunner Ian McCulloch and writers Michael A. O'Shea, Francisca X. Hu and Zoe Cooper, the series unfolds at the Chenoweth family farm where Maggie (Yvonne Strahovksi) and James (Scott Speedman), and their two children, Meryl (Émilie Bierre) and Arlo (Caleb Dolden), find themseleves trapped on their property while up against a mysterious and sinister threat.
I was lucky enough to have two lengthy Teacup chats at Fantastic Fest 2024, so that means you'll have Teacup content on Collider right now and all the way through the show's Season 1 finale on October 31st. From Shudder and RLJE Films, Little Bites stars Krsy Fox, who also served as editor and producer on the film, as a widowed mother who will do anything to protect her daughter, Alice (Elizabeth Phoenix Caro). In her case, that means allowing the grisly monster that lives in their basement to gnaw on her flesh in place of her daughter.
At the festival, Collider's Perri Nemiroff had the opportunity to sit down with One and Fox to talk shop, from the ideas that inspired the filmmaker to write this script to putting all the pieces together in the edit. Over the course of nine episodes, various theories about what happened before, during, and after the fateful day are presented. Nothing about it is an easy watch, with graphic depictions of violence and horrifying in-depth discussions about child molestation, but Sevigny’s performance is impossible to look away from. She and Bardem bring depth to roles that could easily veer into one-dimensional territory in lesser hands, and the chemistry she developed with onscreen children Cooper Koch and Nicholas Alexander Chavez shines through even in the show’s darkest, most disturbing moments.
Collider got the chance to speak with Sevigny about the anxieties she had stepping into the role, getting to explore taboo topics most other shows shy away from, and capturing Kitty being a product of her time.

A Different Man tells the story of Edward (Stan), an aspiring actor with neurofibromatosis (NF1). Edward's facial disfigurement causes him day-to-day anxieties, and when he's offered reconstructive treatment, it seems like the opportunity he's been waiting for. After the procedure, Edward finds new confidence in himself and goes out for a play that just so happens to have been written about him prior to the surgery by his neighbor, Ingrid (Renate Reinsve). Just when he's settling into this new life, however, Oswald (Pearson), a man with the same condition, begins to upstage him with his outstanding personality. Suddenly, Edward finds himself in a new nightmare.
During their conversation with Nemiroff, Schimberg, Stan, and Pearson discuss challenging scenes, how the crew reacted to that surprise cameo, and the visual language of a particularly sinister oner. In House of Spoils, Chef (DeBose) is given the opportunity of a lifetime to open her own fine-dining restaurant in rural New York. With the help of sous chef Lucia (Ferreira), the opening night will be Chef's chance to prove herself to her business partner, Andreas (Moayed), if she can present unique dishes and pull it all off without a hitch. Unfortunately, on top of renovating an old house, planning an experimental menu, and serving an unforgettable dining experience, Chef discovers her restaurant once belonged to a witch who doesn't seem keen on letting go just yet.
At Fantastic Fest, Collider's Perri Nemiroff sat down with Savage Cole, Krudy, DeBose and Moayed to dig into this feast of a sophomore feature. The crew talks about how the original idea evolved from script to screen, DeBose leading her first horror movie, and Moayed's real-life experience in the culinary world. They also talk about leadership, how Chef and Meryl Streep's Miranda Priestly (The Devil Wears Prada) have a lot in common, their personal foodie journeys, the most joyful moments on set, and more.

From the minds of Critical Role, which is a group of friends who are also talented voice actors and epic nerds, The Legend of Vox Machina was born. It's an animated TV-MA series about a misfit team of mercenaries who find themselves tasked with saving their kingdom from one major evil after another. In Season 3, the stakes are even higher as they continue to deal with the Chroma Conclave's sinister reach, as well as inner turmoil and strife within the group. In addition to Ray, Willingham, and O'Brien, Vox Machina features the voices of fellow CR mates Laura Bailey, Ashley Johnson, Taliesin Jaffe, Matthew Mercer, and Sam Riegel, as well as other familiar names like Henry Winkler, the late Lance Reddick, Dominic Monaghan, David Tennant, and more.
During their conversation with Nemiroff, Ray, Willingham, and O'Brien, who voice Vox Machina's Keyleth, Grog, and Vax'ildan, respectively, share a little bit about how their group formed over a friendly role-playing game (RPG) that would eventually branch off into so much more. The trio explains how fans of the series, or even those who haven't jumped in yet, can check out where it all began, or even hit play on Vox Machina sans history. Check out the full Fantastic Fest interview for more on Ray and O'Brien joining Season 3 as writers, which game-changing episodes to be on the lookout for, how their characters helped shape them in their careers, and tons more.

In The Rule of Jenny Pen, Judge Stefan Mortensen (Rush) finds himself learning to navigate a new world when a stroke leaves him partially paralyzed and at the mercy of retirement home staff. Things get off to a rocky start for Stefan, who's uncooperative and stubbornly refuses to befriend the other residents, but then takes an especially dark turn when he finds himself at odds with the supposedly sweet Dave Crealy (Lithgow). Crealy secretly terrorizes the home with his dementia doll and his cruel game, "The Rule of Jenny Pen."
Ashcroft and Rush sat down with Nemiroff to chat about the making of the movie that Stephen King says is "one of the best" he's seen this year. They discuss how Ashcroft first dream-cast both Lithgow and Rush 10 years ago, what it was like to work with them on set, and how the movie is different from the original short story. Rush talks about why this was the kind of project he was waiting for, reuniting with Lithgow, and the most joyous moments from production. For all of this and more, check out this interview!

Still, it's the original film that's proving to stand the test of time 40 years later, and Warner Bros. is marking the occasion by releasing it in 4K UHD, first digitally on October 1 and then with a fancy physical release on October 15. Englund and Langenkamp reunited this past week to celebrate the occasion, and, in this one-on-one interview with Collider, the pair talk Elm Street's legacy, debate whether A Nightmare on Elm Street should be categorized as a slasher movie, and fondly remember their time with Craven, who would also go on to launch the Scream franchise before he passed away in 2015.

The Listeners depicts the life of Claire (Hall), an English teacher, wife, and mother who begins to hear a low humming sound nobody else around her can hear. With no obvious source of the sound, Claire's family life begins to spiral as she grows increasingly more isolated. Soon, she discovers a student of hers, Kyle (played by Ollie West), can also hear the sound. The two form a friendship and together meet more neighbors also tracking down the source of the mysterious, maddening hum. The Listeners explores our human search for the transcendent, conspiracy culture in the West, and the innate desire for community and connection.
