As we were investigating and maintaining silence, we heard unusual knocking sounds coming from above the center wall. Initially, we assumed it might be a hotel guest knocking at their door. However, the nature of the knocks was peculiar—they had a playful quality to them. Room 704 is known for being haunted by a prominent child spirit. Additionally, when Damon knocked on a central wall, we received an immediate response in the same distinctive manner. The wall Damon knocked on does not connect to any nearby rooms, making it impossible for anyone to hear and respond. The host, having moved in just the month before, couldn't recall where she had placed them.Assigned to search the closet, a very small space measuring about 4 feet by 3 feet, I found another guest joining me in the search. The limited space didn't allow both of us to be in the closet at the same time. Crouching down to check under the bottom shelf, I was startled to see a woman's face.The space was only about 10 inches high. I directed the flashlight beam onto her face, thinking it was a realistic, life-sized, scary doll head. Her expression was angry, extraordinarily so. I initially thought it might be a Halloween decoration.The guest outside the closet asked what I was looking at. It was then that the woman's head started turning slowly sideways as her face moved toward me. Her features twisted into a demonic humanoid, filled with the most horrible, hatred-filled rage. She began moving her head toward me from under the shelf, and her hands emerged from the darkness, reaching for me.Locked in eye contact, I sensed she was going to hurt me. The instant fear of her being real made me jump up and stumble backward, landing on the floor against the clothes hanging behind me.The flashlight beam rattled around the closet before I could redirect it, but she had vanished. The guest watching asked if it was the biggest rat I had ever seen. I recounted what I had seen, but she had only seen the back of the woman's head. We informed the tenant about this ghostly encounter, but she dismissed it as if we were making it up.Despite having experienced skydiving with a failed parachute, being robbed at gunpoint, and surviving three tornadoes, none of these incidents compared to the stark raving terror of that woman's face contorting into a demonic visage.
