But how much does this actually affect the frame rate of our project after the mesh has been generated?
Follow along to see if Greedy Meshing ended up increased the frame rate of my voxel project or not.
In this video I’ll show you how I set up experiments and collected data to properly compare the frame rate when using Greedy Meshing versus a simpler meshing algorithm.
At the end of this video, I’ll also show you another huge benefit of using Greedy Meshing.
During this series we will touch upon several interesting topics including procedural generation, profiling and optimizing, comparing solutions, multithreading and much more.

Some people think this is a must have and others keep saying it isn’t worth it.
So which is it?
Follow along to see how a project that was meant to just compare two algorithms ended up also comparing GDScript to C#.
We will look at the idea behind Greedy Meshing, the implementation and finally we will test and compare different meshing solutions.
During this series we will touch upon several interesting topics including procedural generation, profiling and optimizing, comparing solutions, multithreading and much more.

Instead of loading everything before the player can start moving around in the game, we might consider loading while the player is engaging with the parts we have already loaded.
In this video we’ll be looking at how we can divide our voxel terrain into smaller chunks, which we can then load one at a time using multiple threads.
I’m currently using Godot 4.5 beta, but I’ll keep updating whenever a new version of Godot comes out.
During this series we will touch upon several interesting topics including procedural generation, profiling and optimizing, comparing solutions, multithreading and much more.

I’ve created this simple little voxel terrain, but as soon as I load the project and start moving around, it's obvious something's off.
The project takes forever to load and despite the world being fairly empty, it is slow and lagging a lot.
Let's explore Godot's profiler using this voxel terrain as a use case.
I’m currently using Godot 4.4.0, but I’ll keep updating whenever a new version of Godot comes out.

We will be creating platforms, moving the player, jumping on enemies and much more.
In this video, we’re diving into 2D platformer movement! We’ll start by adding a few platforms to our level, add basic platformer movement and then add small tweeks like acceleration, input buffering, and coyote time to improve the overall feel of the controls.
Godot 4.4 is finally released, so that is of course the version I’m using in this video.

I’ve created this simple little voxel terrain, but as soon as I load the project and start moving around, it's obvious something's off.
The project takes forever to load and despite the world being fairly empty, it is slow and lagging a lot.
Let's explore Godot's profiler using this voxel terrain as a use case.
I’m currently using Godot 4.4 beta 3, but I’ll keep updating whenever a new version of Godot comes out.
During this series we will touch upon several interesting topics including procedural generation, profiling and optimizing, comparing solutions, multithreading and much more.

In this series I won’t just show you the final code. I will also teach you why we do as we do.
We will be creating platforms, moving the player, jumping on enemies and much more.
In this first introduction episode we will set up our project in Godot, create a scene for our test level and also begin to work on our player.

It is not only easier to create a new world, if you can move around in it.
It is also much more fun.
I have already created this simple little 3D world, so let's see how we can add a character with some simple FPS movement to it, so we can walk around and see what we are building.
I’m currently using Godot 4.4 beta 1, but I’ll keep updating whenever a new version of Godot comes out.
During this series we will touch upon several interesting topics including procedural generation, profiling and optimizing, comparing solutions, multithreading and much more.

In this episode we will look at how we can not only use full and empty hearts to show the players health.
But also use heart fractions for the health.
