Theres a lot of talk online that this is a 'cheap' metal and not as "luxurious" as having titanium. Thats simply misguided. For its purpose, aluminum is a pro-focussed metal choice for the iPhone because it is over 10 times better at shedding heat, at moving heat off the body of the phone and onto the case, ultimately out into the air around it, than titanium is - and about 200 times better than glass. Using Aluminum allows the phone to let its CPU and GPU clusters to go a little more buck wild before heating up. Therefore, this phone can do its computational photography a bit harder than the 16 pro could.

Somehow, Apple has managed to make their entry level laptop and now their slowest computer in the lineup, fast enough for me to work on full time. Then install the other SSD and ask the NAS to clone the drive into a RAID1 configuration. How To Open a Seagate Expansion Drive Case Without Destroying It. SPACE DESIGN WAREHOUSE 2024-07-13 | How to Open the case of the Seagate Expansion External Hard Drive. Took Kit: amzn.to/465uVBISmaller tool kit: amzn.to/4623BUSThe Drive: amzn.to/4eZaj21This drive doesnt have any visible screws so the only way to open it is to pry open the case. You can do this without breaking it and youll still be able to reuse the drives inside, or the case with a different drive and the case will snap shut effectively. So you’ve got yourself a Seagate Expansion Drive and you want to get into this bad boy. Whatever the reason - you’ve no doubt ended up here because there are no screws on this thing and youre hoping theres a little trick that won’t involve cutting this thing open and destroying everything in your path. Maybe the drive died but you want to use the case with another drive, maybe you broke off the USB plug end in the case but you want to get the drive out of there. Maybe youre building a NAS like me and just want bare drives to put into a NEW case..Well Ive got good news for you, friend - there is a way in, and I will show it to you now. If you’ve got one of these iFixit tool kits - unroll that wonderful vinyl sleeve and grab the slidy knify paddle tool. Looking at your seagate drive, if youre over the age of 35, put on some reading glasses and notice that on one side there is a seam. A chink in the armor. Youre just going to press your knify tool into that crease and apply pressure, use the slightest of a sawing motion to pierce into that crevice, like in the movie Gladiator when the guy from Beautiful mind was about to fight the joker and Joaquin slipped his knife into the Russells back, or was it his leg.. Anyway, just above where the power light indicator is, you can jab your sharp tool right in there and sort of bend and twist and push until you hear and feel a pop. Next, grab the fixit dental tool and with the gap you’ve opened up, force that dull spear into the opening. Using this tool as a lever, you can pry up until a tiny section of the lid releases its hold and pops up. Now youre really making progress, you should be proud of yourself. Just keep sliding that tiny crow bar along the edge of the lid piece thats starting to come off. You’ve done it! Youre in! This is KIND of broken now, this wasn’t designed to be user serviced - however, you’ll notice that if you ARE planning to replace the drive in here and reuse this enclosure that it does still snap shut and stay shut. Added bonus that now its super easy to get open again. What youre met with inside here is a little PCB thats held into the case with a single Philips screw and then taped to the board on the hard drive itself. Take out that screw and peel back that tape, and voila - you will be able to simply pull this drive and board out together. The only thing holding this little triangular board onto the drive is its SATA interface so you can just grab it and gently tug it off. And actually, you dont need this whole enclosure at all - THIS little thing is the entire external drive controller. So you can just plug that same power adapter into this, plug that same USB micro b cord into it (thats what this funny plug is called). And then slide this on to ANY SATA hard drive or solid state drive and leave it bare for that hacker vibe. Your drives are sealed so exposing this to the dust in your room wont be any sort of big deal. You can use this to turn one of these little internal SSDs into a hot swappable external hard drive! How bout that. But back on the drive that came in the enclosure - if your planning to use this maybe installed into your PC - you can just yank off these blue bumpers, and then remove the screws under those and this is a bare drive just like any internal hard drive you would buy. Mine came with these barracuda drives, I had the 4TB version. Im going to use these in my new Sinology NAS drive so all of my computers can share it. Thats it. Its over. We did it. Thank you. Will Microvision be Delisted from the NASDAQ? SPACE DESIGN WAREHOUSE 2024-06-17 | Will Microvision Stock be Delisted from the NASDAQ? Microvision has dropped below a dollar for the first time since I started buying it in 2019. GENERALLY, I have maintained that the stock price for MVIS doesnt really matter so much UNTIL Microvision starts making deals - the price action for the last few years has been a result of pure speculation of an impending deal that has so far evaded my favorite modern laser beam company. BUT, todays price is different. On Friday, they closed under a dollar. And one of the rules for trading stock on the NASDAQ and New York Stock Exchanges are to maintain a stock price of over a dollar. This is a metaphorical big red blinking light BUT, it actually takes a bit before things kick in. Here are the rules. If Microvision’s stock remains under one dollar for 30 consecutive days they will then be considered “out of compliance.” The good news is that once a company is not in compliance, there is a 180 day window for the price of the stock to raise above 1 dollar for 10 consecutive days. Thats 180 calendar days. And even then, at the end of that 180 days - as long as the stock has $2.5 million dollars of shareholder equity (they do) and one million dollars of market value (they do) they will be eligible for a SECOND 180 period before being delisted from the markets. So were looking at an entire year from last Friday June 14th before Microvision is under actual threat of being delisted. This concludes the purely educational and fact based portion of todays video- on to my biased speculation :)There is no denying that Microvision stated what they expected for a timeline for a deal and then completely missed. Not only did they not make a deal - but in the last earnings call, and I actually have a suspicion Sumit meant a slightly different thing than how it came out, but if theres one thing I learned from 6 years of Engineering school its that working engineers are not overwhelmingly good at communicating to non-engineers. Which is why I feel like my small role in this story can actually be meaningful sometimes.. Sumit said some things that made it sound like the company is going to be essentially worthless until closer to the end of the decade. What I think he MEANT is that the big revenues will really start to snowball starting in 2027-2028 - 2030… But what he didn’t say, and also I think it would be irresponsible for him to have said anyway, is that the market doesnt care about actual profitability - it cares about the promise of profitability. It cares about the sentiment and the trajectory and the probability of the timeline for that profitability, and the velocity of that trajectory. Which is why when their proposed trajectory shifted from up and to the right, to… rain delay.. The market dumped. But in reality, the actual trajectory hasn’t changed - the money has ALWAYS been in 2027 and beyond for this first deal. But the deal itself is the promise and the comfort we all need to feel confident in the money actually coming in. No deal, no confidence in the future. In reality - there were 9 automotive deals on the table. Presumably now there are less than nine, but no one has said anything about ALL of them falling through or being significantly delayed. So the way I see it - Sumit and the boys have 30 days, plus 180 days, plus 180 days to close their first consumer automotive lidar deal. Theres still money in the bank, and Im confident in these smaller forklift and farm equipment deals to push out the runway long enough to get fucking carburetor unclogged and get this Spruce Goose up into the air. TLDR, all hope is not lost - we’ve seen where the stock goes when people THINK theres a deal, which means 95 cents is a REALLY good price if you’ve got some spare money that youre not afraid to lose.

That said, I think that being a part of this home robotics assistant revolution is worth every penny!
