But I won’t. What I will say though is that this level, unlike any other level, is so so mentality heavy. It has changed the entire way I view the world, and to that I am both grateful and regretful for. I might get to that in a different video (update: I did! link above pls watch it, it took a very long time to animate ^^). The best way to beat this is confidence, and I didn’t understand that until months after I got 48. If it were any smarter, it would write a book. A book that would make Ulysses look like it was written in crayon. It would read it to you. This is my Eiffel Tower. This is my Rachmaninoff’s Third. My Pieta. It’s completely elegant. It’s bafflingly beautiful. And it’s capable of reducing the population of any standing structure to zero. Passion verified! (my xo inspired level) pigchefer 2021-01-15 | The xo on mobile guy makes an xo-inspired level. Isn't that something? And that is precisely what I just did. I'm very proud of how this turned out, but you may have a ton of questions in your mind about this level. In the following paragraphs, I will explain some of these. When I had the idea for this level, I never intended for it to be xo-inspired. When I did start to build the layout, I started to use xo as a guide. I didn't want to remake the level; I wanted to use it to guide me for the direction I was to take. I thought what was going through KrmaL’s mind when he chose the gameplay and deco style. And then I applied it to this song. Both xo and this song are break-up songs, so how did KrmaL approach this? It turns out that xo’s song is pretty monotonous which shows with the grayscale 1.0 style. The song is also kind of stringy, and you can see he applied that with the gameplay by the constant swinging up and down of the icon. Now take a look at this song, which I think is much smoother and more atmospheric than xo. Taking that in mind, I did the opposite of what KrmaL did: use Clutterfunk (1.4) style with a lot of color, and make the gameplay quite linear. It seems like how a paradox takes completely opposite ideas and makes sense somehow. This is kind of what I did: take the opposite of xo's style but convey the same meaning. You may be thinking that arrow and My Bae are better examples of xo-inspired, but they only took what xo did and revamped it. What I did was take what I think xo's idea is, and convey the same idea with a different style.I do want to stress, though, that this is an original level which I made most, if not all, the ideas of! You can say it's one of the xo-inspired levels and group it with xo, arrow, and My Bae, but please do not treat it like it's an xo remake because it is NOT.About the song, I think it’s perfect for this level! Probably when I first heard this song, I had the idea for the level. Not just some vague idea; I had a very clear idea of what I wanted to do for both the gameplay and decoration. It's honestly like this song was made to be in this level, which is why I really wanted to use it. I'm not a big fan of NONG levels, and I know KrmaL isn't as well, but there is literally no other song that can bring about my idea for this level than the one I chose. I don't want to be known as some NONG creator in the future, so this will probably be the only level where I use an NONG song. Also I really like this song so it made me all the more excited to make this level.About the level: As I have said, I had this idea probably ever since I've heard the song. That was at least 9 months ago. (This is why the level is called Passion, because it is a passion project of mine.) And ever since then, whenever the song popped up on the radio or on someone's running playlist on Spotify, I would think of my idea for the level. It wasn't until I remembered that I had Geometry Dash on Steam, that I started to build the level. My idea for the level was to combine Clutterfunk's style (the last cube of Clutterfunk) and an interpretation of xo. I think it turned out great! I kept building and building, and every time I finished a part, I was very satisfied. I tried to keep the 1.4 aesthetic there, but at the same time, create a very vivid environment for today's standards. I know I put a ton of blocks that weren't there during 1.4, but the main idea is that in 1.3 and 1.4, there were a bunch of new items to add color to the level (like pulsing objects and the like), and that's what I tried to base it off of. The gameplay is the last Clutterfunk cube, the one at like 80% I think, and the ship motif, which you should recognize. It is interesting to note that I did not tell anyone of the creation of this level, kind of like how I only told like 10 people that I was going to attempt xo on mobile. There are a few reasons for this. The first is that people would probably be super surprised that the xo on mobile guy is making an xo-inspired level, and I would like to see some reactions. Also, I think that the opinions would improve if it was a surprise. The last reason is that I want to see how making a level, without anyone pestering about the condition of the level, would go. If I did show it before release, it could go two ways: people would love it and I would be so caught up in the attention I was getting which could hinder the quality, or people would hate it and I would be discouraged and not want to continue. Jayuff said in his pastebin that it is more enjoyable to create without listening to anyone, than otherwise. Reading Jayuff's words wasn't a direct cause, but it encouraged me to keep going.This is dedicated to notlsa. I hope he/she likes what I made!
