Battle! (M&L Superstar Saga) SM64 Remix
updated
So yeah, if you're following me on Twitter, you might have noticed that UNDERTALE Yellow had me in a chokehold for a solid month or so after I played it, and I'd by lying if I told you that I'm completely over it by now, but the brainrot seems to have subsided enough to at least let me take a step back and reimagine one of my favorite songs from its fantastic OST. I'd love to tell you that I chose this symphonic metal-ish style so I could let the solo violin represent the elegance of Ceroba's attacks while the guitars symbolize the anger bubbling beneath, but honestly it's not that deep, I only came up with this just now while writing this description. I just think that violins and metal elements go super well together, especially in the context of fast-paced boss music. Quite a few of the ideas here were lifted straight from some of Yukihiro Jindo's tracks from the Ys Super Arrange albums, which I consider basically the pinnacle of this style.
Oh, and, by the way, in case you stumbled upon this remix without knowing UNDERTALE Yellow, it's a free fanmade prequel to UNDERTALE and if you liked the original, there's a very high chance you'll like this too. Did I mention that it's free? Go download it already, it's really good: gamejolt.com/games/UndertaleYellow/136925
Original song made by @MasterSwordRemix , @NoteBlock , @Figburn and emBer (couldn't find your channel, sorry!).
Did you like my take on this certified banger of a song? Do you want to brag about how you definitely managed to get through genocide Ceroba without getting hit on the first try? Please tell me in the comments!

Normally I'd put some info about how you're allowed to do pretty much anything you want with my rendition of this song that's not just a straight reupload or extension or whatever, but there has been some copyright controversy around the UNDERTALE Yellow OST, so I'd exercise caution for now.
UPDATE: I haven't received any kind of copyright claim during the 3 days since I uploaded it, so it seems to be safe from Content ID shenanigans. Still, I can't guarantee that it'll stay this way, and should the status change, this part of the description will be updated to reflect that.
The original song heavily depends on the low-bitrate DS samples to provide a significant chunk of the high end, so I had to EQ some of the instruments a bit more aggressively than usual to fix the balance. In fact, this one's actually a perfect example of a song which had its original arrangement designed so heavily around the limitations of the original hardware it was meant to play on that just using the ripped MIDI from the game files and replacing the instruments wouldn't have really worked that all well - it'd result in way too much energy in the low end and way too little at the top of the frequency spectrum. My version still sounds a little too dark for my taste, but it kinda fits the scene, so I eventually decided that it's good enough for now.
Do you like how it turned out? Please tell me in the comments! Oh, and please consider subscribing as to not miss my next upload! (...whenever that may be)

Since the laptop I made the original Heart of the Forest on died in 2019, remastering this song was actually a bit more work than I initially expected. I ended up re-using most of the MIDI as I still had the project file, but I had to replace a couple of samples that were lost to time (or that I have better alternatives for by now). Consequentially, I also mixed and mastered it again from scratch to make it sound on-par with my more recent uploads.

Alright, you asked for it, and here it is - a fully remastered version of "The Heart of the Forest", one of the most popular arrangements on this channel. Ok, technically people only asked for an extension (which I also did, see link above!), but I just couldn't pass up an opportunity to finally polish the original to my current standards as it's still getting a significant amount of views to this date.

Either way, this has certainly been an interesting song to work on because it's so far from my usual orchestral comfort zone that I had to redo the mix multiple times. What made it difficult is that I couldn't rely on the baked-in panning and room ambience commonly found in orchestral sample libraries this time, so I kinda had to fake the room around the bone-dry samples myself. Fun. Anyway, I learnt a lot during this process and I believe these skills will come in handy when tackling the next couple of tracks in the OST, which will all require a similar approach. It'll probably be a while until that's ready, though I guess if you're subscribed, you'd be used to that already.
And while we're on the topic, subscribing to the channel would really help! Also, please tell me what you think about the track in the comments, as always, I'd love to read thoughts on it!

Personally, I'm rather proud of this one because synth-heavy tunes aren't exactly my forte, but while I do feel a lot more comfortable in more orchestra-heavy styles, I still wanted to create a faithful rendition of the score to one of the most unsettling levels in Super Mario history. Which I kinda succeded in, at least it sounds fine to my ears. Maybe I'm just running out of patience, I have been trying to get this up to a decent quality for almost a year now, it's really hard to tell.
That aside, do you like my recreation of this song? Please tell me in the comments!

Since this was my first Partners in Time remaster in 2021 (oh boy), it was a bit of a challange to capture the energetic yet not overly epic feel of this song, but after a lot of tweaking I finally got it to sound the way I want. To achieve that, I mixed to whole thing to be much drier than usual and then added some glue reverb afterwards for a cohesive sound, which is quite different to my usual approach which is all about getting the most out of the ambience recorded in the samples themselves and avoiding heavy processing.
I also added a bit of variation to the second and fourth loop as the original was so short it would've barely scratched the one-minute mark *even when looped once* to avoid it getting too repetetive.
What do you think of this rendition of the little Koopa King's theme? Please tell me in the comments!

I originally composed this song for a game codenamed "Epsilon RPG", which I was asked to write some music for. Sadly, it got cancelled a while back, leaving the half-finished music in limbo. However, the game's (former) director allowed me to release this one and a second song, which will also be uploaded as part of the Cutting Room Floor Project.
This track was supposed to play inside a bunker that serves as the headquarters of the Epsilon Organization, a rebel group fighting to end what it effectively a corporate oligarchy. I'm not sure how much more of the story I am allowed to share to give some context, so I'll leave it at that.
Maybe you can guess more from just the music itself! I'd love to see some speculation in the comments!

Finally a familiar tune! I arranged this version of The Road Leading to the Secret from the Mario&Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story soundtrack for use in a Super Mario Bros. X level pack I was working on for fun last year, but since I never finished or released it, the music was left unused all this time.
There were actually a couple of Partners in Time tracks in there as well, but since I already have a full OST remaster project of that game running already, uploading these now when there's better versions coming up soon-ish would be kind of redundant.
And that concludes the Cutting Room Floor Project! Thanks to all of you for making this possible, I certainly didn't expect this channel to grow like this back when I uploaded my first Partners in Time remasters 4 years ago.

This is the second of the two songs I originally wrote for a game, codenamed "Epsilon RPG", which ended up unreleased since said game was cancelled. They're extremely different in style to my usual productions to match the mood of the game they were written for, but I think they still ended up sounding decent enough for an early alpha build. This song was going to play in an abandoned part of a large city, said to be haunted by the ghosts of the people who previously lived there.
Here's a little fun fact about that glitchy-sounding loop transition: I just put it in as a placeholder for a proper transition section, but since the game's director liked it way more than I expected, I left it in. I still wanted to change it a little bit for the final version of the game, but you know how that went.

I haven't even played any of the Golden Sun games (even though they've been on my list for a while), this amazing battle tune by composer Motoi Sakuraba of Dark Souls fame just appeared in my mix one day after accidentially leaving it on autoplay. The infamous YouTube algorithm actually did its job fairly well, for once. However, I was SHOCKED to find out that almost nobody ever covered this song, so I decided to give it a shot myself, and I'd say it turned out pretty decent.
Normally I'd write something about the game the song is from in this paragraph, but since I just kinda stumbled upon it randomly, there isn't really a lot I can say about it other than that its music is really good and that the battles look really flashy and way ahead of their time. I didn't even know the GBA and DS could handle such fancy particle systems!
Do you like my arrangement of this track? Is there anything you don't like about it? Are there any other songs from the Golden Sun soundtracks that I just *have* to remix in your opinion? ...and I didn't even plan this one either, it was more of a spontaneous commission by a friend who said they'd buy me a copy Tales of Berseria if I made this remix. I normally don't take commissions, but I also really wanted that game, so I made an exception.
The 5th generation of mainline Pokémon games (and their direct sequels, Black/White 2) are my personal favorites of the entire series, probably due to the nostalgia I have for most of the more popular DS games. I've been planning to remix something from Black and White eventually for a long time anyway, and now that the opportunity arose to even get paid for it, I - naturally - accepted gladly.
I tried to stay rather faithful to the original while giving this magical song the orchestra treatment it deserved, but since I didn't want to limit myself too much, I added some additional elements to the second loop. Keep an ear out for them! The loop transition itself is really obvious, you'll know when you'll have to pay attention.

Toadwood Forest has always been one of my favorite areas from the Mario&Luigi series, simply because of how dark and unsettling it is. You know, because of the dead Toads that literally had their life energy extracted out of their bodies by some aliens to make some kind of space gasoline? I wanted to reflect this general tone in my remix, so I added lots of sounds in the low-mid part of the frequency spectrum. For example, I doubled the acoustic guitar with a harp to make it sound a bit more, well, thicc.
Now, where have I been all this time and why didn't I upload anything for half a year? First, shortly after I uploaded my remake of the song that plays in Bowser's Castle, I started working on a more ambitious project, which I eventually had to cancel for various reasons. I tried to make it work over the entire summer, but it just didn't meet my quality standards, so I delayed it indefinitely for now. It's not completely cancelled though, since there's a decent chance that I'll try again should I ever have enough spare time again. This wouldn't even be the first time a previously practically-cancelled project was revived, finished and released to great success, since this is exactly what happened to Heart of the Forest 2 years ago! Secondly, my first semester at university just started, which naturally left me quite overwhelmed. It's going rather well at the moment, but it's taking an insane amount of time to keep it that way.
Ok, back to the music. Do you like my rendition of this song? Do you think it's sufficiently spooky for an October upload? Tell me in the comments!

Still, since I do want to finish this ReRemix project eventually, I managed to squeeze in a couple of hours to throw together this little recreation of the song that plays in Bowser's Castle in Partners in Time. I optimized most of the stages involved in the production of these over time so I can get simple songs like this done in a relatively short amount of time.
The original version of the song used some layers of existing instruments to create that pitch-bend synth sound thing (which is a pretty clever way to save resources on a console as limited as the DS I must admit), but because I'm not bound by its limits like Yoko Shimomura was when composing this, I synthesized my own higher-quality version of the sound. It's not an exact match, but close enough in my opinion.

You asked for this song.
More times than I could possibly count.
So here it is. Finally.
This was an extremely hard song to get right because it's almost impossible to improve what is already pretty much perfect, but after weeks of arranging, mixing and mastering, I finally managed to create the most epic, powerful version of this tune on YouTube.
The fact that I released this on April 1st is a total coincidence by the way, after this much time spent on my new magnum opus I just wanted to get it out there, no matter the silly traditions commonly associated with that date.

Huh, that's surprisingly dark for a song that plays this early in the game. If seasonal depression had a musical equivalent, this tune would definitely be it.
I changed some of the instruments in this and added a few extra modifications during the second loop to keep the listener's interest throughout the entire song, but I didn't add most of the tweaks I originally planned because, rather unsurprisingly, the minimal instrumentation in the original was responsible for a sizable chunk of the emotion within the original version.
The music box in this is actually a free patch from Spitfire Audio's amazing LABS Music Box, if you make music yourself you should totally try out all the LABS instruments, they're great and don't cost a dime! They also have a "Frozen Strings" patch that I wanted to use for this originally, but I only thought of that after I had already mixed and mastered the entire thing and I didn't want to throw off the balance by introducing a totally new instrument this late in production.

Not talking about my remix, but just the original arrangement by our queen Yoko Shimomura. Now, to be fair, there's a ton of good versions of this specific song all thorughout the Mario franchise (and sometimes even outside of it), but in my humble opinion, none are as good as this one.
I absolutely *adore* the staccato chords on the piano, which I also added an acoustic guitar track to to add to the laid-back feeling of this rendition. Copy-pasting the notes from the marimba part to solo violin with varying articulations throughout the song made the melody a bit easier to follow as well now that there's so much other stuff going on.
Fun fact: I actually made not one, but TWO unreleased remixes of this track before, one was just for practice and the other one for a game I never finished. Might release all of these forever-WIP songs at some point, who knows?

Fun fact: This remake was originally supposed to be much more electronic-sounding than it does now. The original intent was to make it sound a bit like "Get Over the Barrier!" from Ys vs. Sora No Kiseki, and there's still some of that sound in the final result, like the little electronic transition sounds effects, even though most of it was eventually scrapped in favor of a more faithful sound. The drums didn't make the cut, but I might still release a sketch of what that would've sounded like at some point (probably on the Discord server) if there's demand for that.
I also slapped some intense saturation and compression on the organ because why the hell not.

Finally. Honestly, this is one of the songs that made me start another remix project of this soundtrack. This rhythmically intense masterpiece by JRPG composer goddess Yoko Shimomura is what really turns combat against colorful enemy sprites into some of the most intense battles this series has to offer.
The original version of this song, despite being a timeless classic, did show some signs of age, and while the punchy synthetic sounds that were thrown out of the DS' speakers still achieve the desired stress-inducing effect, this full modern recreation of the piece aims to evoke similar emotions while not being limited by the sound hardware of a 15-year-old handheld.
I tried to stay faithful to the original song while changing the arrangement and utilizing modern sample libraries and synths to create my own rendition of what an official updated version of this song would sound like if the second entry in the Mario&Luigi series was remade. Which doesn't seem likely when thinking about what happened to Alphadream, the studio behind M&L, but isn't a man allowed to dream?

(Yes, that's the best I could come up with) (sorry)
Christmas is just around the corner, so it was clearly time for an appropriate arrangement! Snowy soundscapes might not be the first thing to come to mind when thinking about Donkey Kong OSTs, but some of them are just so good that I *had* to remix them. However, since the amount of time I can spend on these songs is still quite low, I had to decide, and I literally rolled dice to find out what this year's special would be.
I tried to achieve a very natural and comforting sound this time to test how my collection of instruments perform in this scenario, and after a lot of time spent on getting the modwheel automation just right, I think it's good enough now that there aren't any jarring mistakes reminding you constantly that this joyful tune is in fact played by a computer instead of a real orchestra.
Since the loop is also just over one minute long in the original, I had to come up with a way to arrange each loop in a different-enough sounding way to avoid boring the listener. In the end, I managed to make 3 versions of the main part, each with a bit more power and energy than the one heard before.
Just a quick note on the Partners in Time project: YES, it will be continued. Pretty soon, even. I should be able to prepare a few songs in advance until we enter the 20's so I can keep up a mostly-regular upload schedule again. A song every 1-2 weeks seems doable :P
Now all that's left for me is to ask: Do you like this remix? The style of my rendition is quite different than Eveline Fischer's SNES original, so I'd love to hear what you think!

For this recreation, I used the template I originally made for the Pokémon remix I uploaded a while ago instead of the usual Partners in Time template, which means that this song uses partially different (and better, in my opinion) sample pool than the rest of the project. It requires a bit more work to get it to sound good, but it's definitely worth it in my opinion.

I chose an orchestral style similar to the intro of X&Y's version and applied it to the entire track to create a much more epic, if less bouncy version of the PWC final battle theme. Usually I try to go for a realistic sound, but since 8 french horns just sound so much more epic than 4, I kinda just ignored certain conventions this time to make it sound even more powerful.
I think it is also worth noting that I didn't actually intend to release this song at all, it was initially supposed to be a practice run for working with the new project template I built to improve the sound of the Partners in Time ReRemix album. Speaking of PiT, I hope to be able to release a new remix from that game next week, but since time to spare is still pretty scarce, I can't guarantee anything.
UPDATE 2/22/2020: I just noticed that I totally fucked up the legato on some of the brass, and somehow didn't notice it until just now. Really, it sounds like an insult to CSB's beautiful legato scripting. Might fix that at some point.
UPDATE #2: Oh, THAT'S why I turned it off. Apparently CSB doesn't have polyphonic legato so to get a convincing effect, I'd have to load a separate instance of the library for every simultaneous voice. And it's already taking up 13 gigabytes in RAM as it is now. Well, time to downloadmoreram.com I guess.

Even though the original song plays whenever the brothers finish off a group of enemies, I mostly remember it for playing during the level-up scenes, which I used to stay at for a long time trying to remember all of the possible numbers of Lakitu's roulette while trying to get a great stat boost.

If you want to use this song in a project of yours, go ahead! I'm fine with pretty much everything that's not a straight reupload, be it in the form of videos, games, or whatever.
Wow, this was a hard one to get right. I'm not even kidding when I'm saying that I considered making this half a dance track because I already spent too much time desperately trying to make it sound good. And making a song sound good even if you don't like it that much is hard. Yes, I don't like PiT's battle theme, it's one of the worst ones in the series. Which is still good, but just not quite on the same level as Superstar Saga's banger.
As you can hear, I settled with a style that's still mostly faithful to the original, but since I didn't like the 808 or whatever the original drums were supposed to be, I replaced them with a normal drumkit to drive the rhythm. I also spent quite some time getting the bass synth to sound *just* right. The brass also took a while, now that I think about it. Yep, this has definitely been the hardest song of this project yet, and if I didn't already have this one finished by the time my spare time, well, got Thanos-snapped out of existence, I probably would've skipped it for now.
Did you like the more organic style I tried for this remix? Please tell me in the comments!
I also can't guarantee that I'll be able to upload weekly from now on - that heavily depends on some factors I can't possibly predict at the time. I'll post updates on Twitter, so keep an eye on my page there so you don't miss anything!

It's almost cute how the original song tried to sound kind-of-orchestral even on the very, VERY limited sound hardware of the DS. Tracks like these are almost guaranteed to sound good when arranged for an orchestra and played using high-quality samples, and this one is no exception in my opinion!
Do you like it as much as I do or do you prefer the slightly more silly and light-hearted tone of the original? Please tell me in the comments!
I'm honestly surprised how I managed to keep a kinda-regular upload schedule going even with just around one hour of spare time a day. I only have one more finished remix after this one, so I might have to put the project on hold after that, but I'll keep you updated - I'll put some info in the description of next week's upload!

The melody lines played by the brass section was particularly hard to script here because the dynamic range this piece demands is just enormous, and if there's one thing sample libraries are weak at, it's the reproduction of a real orchestra's dynamic range. The weird staccato horns that do their thing throughout a part of the song weren't too easy either.
Do you like how it turned out? Do you think its sounds realistic enough to be on par with a hypothetical real remake's soundtrack? Tell me in the comments!

Yes, I'm doing it. The old album was worse than the originals and didn't sound very remake-y at all, all while Nintendo making a true remake of Partners in Time seem less and less probable by the hour. I just didn't want to live in a timeline without a full, faithful remake of the incredible soundtrack of Mario&Luigi series' second entry, composed by none other Yoko Shimomura. This wasn't the choice of Steins;Gate at all, so after a few months of having it on my to-do list at all I began work on fixing this timeline, so to speak.
So what is this project? It's going to be a full* recreation of Mario&Luigi: Partners in Time's entire soundtrack. My main goal is to create a create an album of what it would sound like if PiT got a Switch remake, while still staying mostly faithful to the original songs.
About the remix itself: It's been a difficult one. The original's solo marimba melody just isn't very interesting instrumentation-wise (not that the devs could do any better given the DS's sound hardware), but since I'm not held back by the limitations of ancient sound chips, I spiced it up a little!
Do you like my new rendition of this iconic song? Please tell me in the comments and by liking or disliking this video!
*Depends on whether people are interested in seeing me complete this project. If nobody cares and the videos go mostly unnoticed, I won't finish it, but if I can even make one person happy with this passion project, I'll try my best to remix every last one of them, even with my very limited supply of spare time to work on these.

If you want to use this song in a project of yours, go ahead! I'm fine with pretty much everything that's not a straight reupload, be it in the form of videos, games, or whatever. If I ask you to remove it, however, you'll have to comply. That only ever happened one single time, and that was just an unedited reupload of one of my videos, so don't be afraid. I'm not some kind of evil alien that's trying to take over the Mushroom Kingdom, after all.
...and just like the (incredibly beautiful) forest of Nibel at the end of Ori and the Blind Forest, developed by Moon Studios, I have risen from the dead! Well, that's a bit of an exaggeration, but since it's been over 3 months since I uploaded a song, me being dead is a totally reasonable conclusion to draw on the internet apparently.
Now let's talk about the song itself! As you can hear, a real singer, Reshira, helped me breathe new life into this amazing soundtrack originally composed by Gareth Coker. The massive improvements in quality can be felt whereever you can hear her voice, but it's the Restoring the Light, Facing the Dark-based part that got the biggest quality boost from her participation! If you want to check out more of her content, here's her channel: youtube.com/user/xReshira
This remix, which is the single longest song I have ever made by the way, would have not been possible without the help of some other people.
As with last year's summer project, Purple1222119 transcribed some parts for me to work with, which allowed me to focus more on the other steps of creating a hopefully good song. And since I'm hilariously bad at writing down the notes in a piece by ear, his help probably saved me literal months. Who knows, it might've been released in October if it wasn't for him? Here's his channel in case you want to listen to his badass Mario&Luigi orchestrations: youtube.com/channel/UCmFPCL8C2uA5FiBB-BDZzFA
At last, Rafael Gómez also helped to create the beautiful visuals for this video, big thanks to him as well!

This remix started as a basic practice session, but I really liked how it sounded, so I kept working on it until the entire track was done. My old remix of this song deserved a remake anyway.
For this song, I tried seperating the arrangement and mix phases even stricter than before by dropping all the faders back to zero and starting the mixing portion from scratch when I finished arranging. It's a metric fuckton of work, but it's oh-so-much worth it in my opinion!
Also, yes, I stole the loop transition from myself (from The Heart of the Forest, to be precise) since the way the original does it always seemed kinda lazy to me.

Now, over a year after I released the credits theme, I finally got around to redoing this forgotten song! To be completely honest, I found out about its existence when I first listened through the official remake's soundtrack, but I quickly stopped the video at that point because I didn't want the official one to influence my version.
At first, I wanted to go for a sound that doesn't seem to out of place between the other remasters, but I couldn't even find most of the old soundfonts I used back then, so I scrapped that idea and tried making whatever comes to my mind - which ended up being something completely different, mostly due to the increase in my skill level over the last year (not trying to brag here, but I even like my rendition more than the official one)

Honestly, I didn't really think I'd finish this one at all. I didn't even plan to start making it. The only reason it exists is the fact that I listened to last year's special and wondered how it would sound if I remade it, and that's it, basically.
The intro contains a few references to completely different tracks, can you guess them? Though I obviously didn't spend as much time on this remix compared to Heart of the Forest, I still think it sounds fine, especially after when listening to last year's version. Do you still like it? This remix has been planned for a while now, and just as the summer came to an end, I felt like I was finally ready and my skills had advanced enough to do this song justice!
As I've learned from past attempts, remixing songs from the 3DS Mario&Luigi games is incredibly difficult, as attempts often end up sounding like the original, just a bit worse. After letting quite a few people listen to it and receiving a lot of feedback and implementing a lot of suggestions, I'm now confident this isn't the case here, making it ready for release!
Fun fact: As you may have noticed, the intro section is not from Sacred Somnom Woods! It's inspired by the song "Mechanical Kingdom", from the Radiant Historia soundtrack! I chose it simply because the tracks sound so similar, and were even composed by the same person, Yoko Shimomura!
The transcription of the original Somnom Woods was provided by Mr. M&L Orchestrated, Purple1222119 himself! Go check out his work here: youtube.com/user/Purple1222119

I've been absent for quite a while, but that doesn't mean I was just chillin' without even working on anything! Actually, a bigger project is still in progress, but since it's taking a lot longer than expected, I decided to upload something else in between - which is how this remix came to be!
I spent a lot more time on the mixing and mastering stage this time - and the increase in clearness is really audible (at least to me, could just be my imagination though).

So as some of you might know, I'm currently working not only on some game dev stuff I'm basically always working on but also on a bigger remix project! Oh, what song it is about? Hehe, nice try, that'll stay a secret until I know for sure that I can finish it now (I sometimes wait a few months if I fail to remix a song properly)
For this song, I tried to do pretty much everything I can't in my other project, meaning that I put heavy emphasis on electronic instruments instead of the usual orchestra. Additionally, this serves as a kind-of test project on how to master modern music, which I haven't really done before. The changes it makes to the sound are quite subtle, but together they sum up to a real improvement!
Fun fact: I haven't played the game, the "Objection!" meme is the only reason I even know this song!

As the original song was pretty limited by the DS' sound capabilities (even though the game uses its own sound engine, which made it extra difficult to rip the score which I based this remix on), I wanted to reimagine what it would sound like if the game was released today!

First a bit of backstory. So this is one of the few tracks I tried to remix quite a few times already, but it just didn't meet my quality standards, so I threw it away, waited for a few months, tried again, and so on. After roughly 10 hours of work, I *finally* managed to make it sound good!
I kept the instrumentation pretty close to the original because I didn't really think there was much room for improvement there, so I focused even more on the actual quality of the instruments. It's still not perfect, but it's just not worth spending even more time on a project to improve subtleties most listeners wouldn't even notice, so I decided to just stop here.

Yesterday, I listened to my old remix of the M&L2 Boss Theme and instantly thought "I can do that WAY better". Ok, to be fair, the old one was made using very limited software and equipment and my skill back then wasn't exactly on the same level as it is today, but that doesn't mean I can't improve old track! That's what I did, and I improved the sound a asdfghjllion times.

At the moment, I don't have a lot of time to work on anything that's not school, but the situation will improve at the start of June so expect some cool stuff then.
Anyways, I tried to make something, and here it is. Not necessarily one of my favorites, but still a good track after all. Also added a little glissando violin to the part that sounded too empty without.

"It's me, your best friend!"
As I was listening to my older pieces, I noticed that some of them simply weren't meeting today's standards anymore - and while this applies to a lot of my not-so-recent tracks, I chose to remix this wonderful song from the UNDERTALE soundtrack again!
I decided to go for a much more hopeful and kinda dreamy sound as both words are literally part of the song's title, and because I needed a remix of this piece for a secret project anyways.

I did my best to capture the atmosphere in the original track, and because I couldn't decide if I should add some decoration to the track or not, I decided to make both!
To put it into context, the first loop is what it should sound like if you're above that spider web thing that blocks your way deeper into the tree, the second loop has some watery and slightly naturely (I love inventing new words) decoration in the form of heavily echoing Marimba to simulate drops of water in that water part just below the spider web and the flute is just there because I like flutes. Yeah.

Phew. Needed a break from Ocarina Of Time.
I already remixed this song like a year ago, but since this is among my favorite Pokémon battle themes ever, and Zinnia is one of my favorite Pokémon characters ever... I don't think I even need to explain more than that.
I didn't take the popular route of making it a bombastic orchestra piece since I wanted it to sound as official as possible, and after beating the fight with this remix in the background, I'm pretty sure I achieved my goal. Still changed some of the instruments and added some background elements, while being barely perceivable, add some depth to the piece and make it sound "fuller".

So this was a rather quick one, and I didn't want to change a lot or add background elements like I often do because it made it sound kinda worse, so I just kept the notes the same and instead focused on making it sound as full as possible with just a few instruments.

Of course, since Ocarina Of Time is a N64 game, I had to add a bit of background decoration so it doesn't sound too empty. Can you spot them? Tell me in the comments!
Also, yes, I know I haven't uploaded for 3 days. Now that I don't have all the time I want to devote to this project anymore, this will be my usual upload schedule. I'll try to upload 1-2 times a week, but I can't guarantee everything, especially when it's time to remix the more complicated and longer tracks like this one or the dungeon themes in the future.
