It's a pretentious mess that's designed to cater to gentrifiers, the elites, and James Corden (look it up), who have inflated the egos of world-class chefs to the point of them believing they hold power over every aspiring chef that wishes to work under them.The Menu, is an excellent satirical take on the world of fine dining, and its able to balance its message and comedic tone with ease.The Bear (after season 1) became a show which borderline worships the art of fine dining, and the people who create it. It recognises the faults of the industry, but isn't interested in highlighting them enough, because it distracts from the pretty food.The Bear was great. The death of the movie theater has been on the cards for a while now, and despite 33 of the top 50 grossing movies of all time being made in the past 10 years alone, screens have been shutting down around the world at an astonishing rate.Actual movies aren't dying, but they're becoming less appealing to audiences, and unlike in the recent past, throwing hundreds of millions of dollars into the pot for marketing and budgets doesn't guarantee a hit anymore. Will Billie Eilish be mentioned in the same sentence as Patti Smith, or will Beyonce be considered as prolific as Nina Simone?It's weird to think that even though there are so many modern music artists that are extremely successful and well-known, most people would agree that their impact on music isn't anywhere near as meaningful as those who came before them. Does this mean that they're making bad music? No, of course not - there are tens of millions of people around the world who love what they do, and quality really has nothing to do with it - but why is it that they can't really be considered music legends? Why is it that everything from the music we listen to, to the movies and TV shows we watch all feel as though they're universally loved one moment, then forgotten about in an instant?Well, it's a little complicated, but it's not entirely the fault of the audience.
