Gex 3 Deep Cover Gecko 2:29:40 100% PS Speedrun
updated
Played on a HDD PS4 Pro
NTSC Version
Final Time: Around 18:47.96
Timing starts on the final start menu input and ends on the first frame Spyro can move after being given the bone dance orb.
It took 1 night’s worth (4 runs) to improve my 20:36 run to a 18:47 with updated strats. Time well spent and happy with the outcome! All tricks first try despite my inconsistency. This run could be improved for sure but since I really don’t care about this category that much, this could be my final time in the category. Hope you all enjoy!

This game is sure a grind so I don’t record all the time. Seeing how lucky I was to play with Canadian Guy Eh (considering I’m a huge fan of his), I decided to record the matches with him. This match was a blast to play and mostly everything went my way.
It was really cool playing with you and an honor! Keep on making videos CGE!
Here is his live stream on Youtube during the time this match took place.
youtube.com/live/uiwFlFYJBOs?feature=share&t=5040
Things that bug me in the game so far that deserves attention:
1: Deaths for no reason (Small buggy teleportations).
This is by far the worst problem for me when playing in a really competitive game. I am not talking about any deaths besides the ones that cause my characters go to a lower height (or even going horizontal) when in between platforms (when the character jumps or is airborne). I guess the characters' hitboxes interfere with the ground beneath them, causing this to happen? Maybe the lag causes this? I brought this game digitally on my PS4 pro. Just a really annoying bug.
2: Bots in general
Not that of a big deal but still god awful annoying when playing the game for a while. I would have to say around half of my matches have bots. It is ridiculous. If I have 1 extra bot on my team then it makes it that much harder to win. However, when players quit the game during a match (Shoutouts to all the people who quit a match within the first minute or are "loosing" on my team), somehow they get replaced with bots that have bad AI. For example, the bot might run back and forth to a relic without collecting it.
3: Not showing the battlepass item that was newly unlocked.
When leveling up in the battlepass system while completing a challenge that rewards xp for your character at the same time, you wouldn't be able to see the battlepass item that you just unlocked in certain cases. Could be more things like this.
Others are complaining about crashes on the PS5 as well as other problems. Still, this is a decent game for me. I am now a level 100 and got the plat trophy for this game. I plan to try and unlock everything in this game. A fear of mine is them closing the online servers for this game in the future, making it impossible to play.
Meh... Can't wait for the Spyro characters and map though!
July 13th, 2023 Update: Got everything besides Bank Behemoth (3/7) and Dastardly Denier (4/7). 9 level 15s.
July 19th, 2023 Update: Got the Dastardly Denier emote with the easier challenge.
August 13th, 2023 Update: Canadian Guy Eh got all 9 of his heroes to level 15!
August 16th, 2023 Update: Finally got everything in the game with the easy Bank Behemoth emote now attainable by a degree.

Run was done nearly 10 months ago and I finally decided to put it up now. lol…
Felt like playing this category and this is the end result. First run that has decent routing with no major mistakes. Still have a lot of work to do. Also I did specific strats to lessen the chance of the game crashing in the end game in 3 spots. Overall, a good run. :)

Spyro 2 Starts at 22:26
Spyro 3 Starts at 44:50
Achieved on July 6th, 2022
Played on a HDD PS4 Pro
NTSC Version
Final RTA Time: Around 1:07:35.96
In-game Time: 32:29
Timing starts on the final start menu input and ends on the first frame Byrd can move after being given the bone dance egg in Spyro 3.
I decided to make this arbitrary category up hoping for others to do this or try Spyro 1 All Eggs in the reignited version since there are over 26 runs of all eggs in the normal version. I also decided to pair all eggs with the 2 bone dances in Spyro 2 and 3 since they are all so close in run length plus each category requires you to collect things. I also wonder if “Spyro Reignited Trilogy 12 Egg and Bone Dances Speedrun” would be a better category name? Nonetheless, enjoy this run! :D
Spyro 1
Final RTA Time: 20:32.12 [FWR]
IGT: 9:52 [FWR]
Just to be clear, timing ends when the 12th egg from the last thief is collected by Spyro physically. It doesn’t end when Spyro kills the egg thief. The current World Record for all eggs in the reignited version on console. Great run with the current strats. Just a gauntlet of fast egg thief kills, lol. Sub 20 is possible with even better strats and routes.
Spyro 2
Final RTA Time: 20:46.40
IGT: 10:44
Decent run. Might want to learn how to do the Aqua Towers skip to save around a minute.
Spyro 3
Final RTA Time: 24:03.20
IGT: 11:53
Poor gem route but overall, good movement. The highlight of this whole run is me getting the Cloud Spires jump first try. Not that hard, but it feels sooo good for me when I get the skip first try. Also I need to learn how to collect all 8 bones without Byrd.
I see no improvements being made in this category by me in the future. The following paragraph only implies if you quit and load the game back up when you completed your Spyro 1 egg run (just like what I did here).
You must add the IGT that you spent in Wizard Peak to the total IGT throughout the whole run since the game doesn’t save when you collect the last egg. You must also show the IGT on Spyro 1 in Wizard Peak when the all eggs run is completed to get the IGT of the Spyro 1 run.

Final Times: Around 1:53:52.52 for 100% and around 2:50:40.76 for 102%.
Timing starts on the final start menu input and ends upon triggering the 100% ending loading screen by going up the lift in the fifth Warp Room for both 100% and 102%.
This run as well as all the other Crash runs on my channel includes load times.
My 2 goals were sub 1:55 in 100% and sub 3 in 102%. I’m glad that I got both of my goals in 1 run! This category hasn’t been kind to me at all during the grind. I would loose time in the dumbest ways possible. The game just keeps finding new ways to make me loose time for no reason. This game also crashed on me during my first 102% run (during the Sewer of Later TT in the water with invincibility) which is why I am using the autosave feature. But now I have a decent 102% time. I could go for sub 1:50 and sub 2:45 but I am busy with life. Hope you all enjoy this run though! :D
Still no hobslides though! Mainly because on console, performing hobslides are really hard to do compared to the PC version.

The seventh and final run of my 1 week of speedruns special. Started from last Sunday up to today, there was 1 speedrun uploaded for each day. Hope you all enjoyed this! :D
Timing starts on the final start menu input and ends on the first frame Byrd can move after being given the bone dance egg. Runners must watch the Bone Dance animation and cannot skip the cutscene.
Again I decided to improve my time by doing 3 runs in 1 day. This time, my former PB was 24:48. So this was a nice improvement. Not as good as my Spyro 2 run but decent enough. The middle of the run wasted so much time. Sub 23 is doable for sure!

The fifth run of my 1 week of speedruns special. Starting from Sunday up to Saturday, there will be 1 speedrun for everyday.
Timing starts on the final start menu input and ends on entering the Gnasty’s Loot vortex after collecting 120%.
I say this is my main category in recent years with over 60 runs completed. I am confident to say that this speedrun is in my top 5 best speedruns of all times. Dishonorable shoutout to Metalhead for ruining my runs for no reason due to really dumb glitches. You can see a glitch that happened in this run that didn’t affect me fortunately during the bossfight.
Considering me forgetting gems in the Peace Keepers homeworld and in Jacques, this is a solid run nailing every hard trick that matters. First time getting the supercharge turnaround jump in the last area of Tree Tops which saves around 25 seconds compared to not going for the strat at all.
Anyways, it feels awesome to get sub 1:55 in this category. I was doing runs every day to get this sort of time.

I was aiming for sub 4:10 so sub 4 was a nice bonus. I didn’t expect this so soon. Thank god Spyro 3 didn’t crash this time.
Spyro 1
Final RTA Time: 1:01:09.36

Great and clean run with old route. Can save time using updated strats. New PB at the time.
Spyro 2
Final RTA Time: 1:21:31.98
IGT: 48:57
I say this run is the most impressive out of the trilogy. My old PB was 1:22:11. This run got a 1:21:31 so it was nice to get a 1:21. Not the best Ripto fight but I’m not complaining.
Spyro 3
Final RTA Time: 1:31:16.60
IGT: 50:38
Ever since the crash happened on my 1:29:49 run, I don’t take this category seriously anymore. So I was just winging it, hoping for the best. Glad it didn’t cost me the sub 4!
Since crashes are a thing for Spyro 3, this could be my final time for this run (on PS4 anyways).

This is my last serious speedrun of Spyro 3 Any% or 117% on the PS4. In this run, the game crashed when I ran through the breakable wall near Desert Ruins, costing me 1:27:xx. This is also the first time the game crashed in a place other then the tanks area in Haunted Tomb. If it wasn’t for crashes (not to mention the crashes is in the end game), I would have a sub 4:20 by now in 117%. It’s quite a shame since Spyro 3 is one of the best speed games for me but with crashes, it is the worst.
After the crash happened, I decided to post this run up on YouTube no matter what happens. My short-term goal in this category was sub 1:30 so I’m glad that I clutched out a decent Sorceress fight at the end.
PS: On my first 149 Egg run, the game also crashed when I got Buddy in Midnight Mountain.

Crash 2 Starts at 2:51:40
Crash 3 Starts at 5:57:36

Final Time: 9:33:19.28
I was first introduced to Crash Bandicoot with this remaster (besides playing demos in Spyro games ages ago). Years and years of fun. After all these years, I decided to finally do the max completion speedrun category of this game. Here is a list of things that I did in this run.
Crash 1 105%
Final RTA Time: 2:48:07.16
Beat Cortex
Get all 27 gems
Get all 27 gold/platinum relics
Activate the 100% Ending
Crash 2 102%
Final RTA Time: 3:02:52.76 (Got 1:56:26.76 in 100%)
Beat Cortex
Get all 25 crystals
Get all 42 gems
Get all 27 gold/platinum relics
Activate the 100% Ending twice for both 100% and 102%
Crash 3 108%
Final RTA Time: 3:36:05.20
Beat Cortex Twice
Get all 25 crystals
Get all 47 gems
Get all 31 gold/platinum relics
Total
50 crystals
116 gems
85 gold/platinum relics
My goal was sub 11 hours so I am really pleased with my time. Also I got 3 huge new PBs in each individual Crash game. I felt like I ran a gauntlet here since this category is long and really brutal. There are no hob slides which saves time. Mainly because doing it on PC is easier then doing it on console and I didn’t get to learning it. Crash 1 105% is the most unforgiving, Crash 2 102% has really tight relic times (I’m looking at you Hangin' Out!), and Crash 3 108% has the most janky gameplay mechanics out of the 3. Overall, there are some parts that are complete disasters such as me restarting Rolling Stone towards the end of the 105%. But I don’t care to improve this run in the future since it is great for my skill level. My end goal was sub 10 hours. Also I have subbed my Spyro HD Trifecta time of 9:36:05! So with all of this in mind, I’m glad I paid tribute to this awesome franchise with this mammoth of a run! :D
Note: I have to record in real life in between runs to record this run properly because Game Capture HD only records up to 6 hours at a time for me. I have put a small meme at the VERY end of the video just for fun.

Just a couple months late posting this run, haha. I decided to give Any% a try one day. My goal was 57:XX. After some of the most frustrating and dumb ways of runs failing to get sub 58 in the very end game, I finally have a PB that I am happy with. Tiny Tiger and Ruination were complete disasters but considering how hard and inconsistent this game is, I think I’m all done with this category. Also I have to learn Hobslides still, lol.

World Record from May 24th, 2021 to June 5th, 2021
World Record! It only took 2 runs from my previous PB to get WR! :D It seems so surreal that I am the current Word Record holder of a main Spyro category, considering how popular Spyro is to speedrun and how long this game has been out. My improvement in this category have been remarkable for me in the last 2 weeks. Starting from 2:57:18 and going all the way down to 2:43:50.
This run is the world record for the console’s version of Spyro 2 100% NLS. The Spyro community time console runs based on what the IGT time is. The PC’s world record compared to my run is a much better one by CameronVengenz. He got a 2:09:16 (RTA time) with an IGT of 1:36:34. His time without loads is a 1:59:35 which is the way the leaderboards time PC runs. I still have yet to implement better routes with this category (Idol Springs, Shady Oasis, etc.) but I am really satisfied with this run. Gulp and Ripto could have been better but I won’t complain considering it is WR. Maybe a really good goal for me in the future is sub 2:40.

Worked on some routes and did another run. This was the result. Smashed my sub 2:50 goal by PBing by over 4 minutes. Also really nice to sub 2 in IGT. :D I actually can’t believe that I am a World Record contender in this category now considering how good the top Spyro runners are in these games. To be fair, the WR that was just beaten a few days ago was over 2 years old. This run was all right but I did major mistakes such as getting hit by Bob in Scorch at the end of the 3rd flag chase. I might be done with this category for now?

Did 3 runs recently. On my 3rd one, I got a huge PB by 6 minutes with this run with the stars aligning for me! I was ahead of my sum of best splits for the majority of the run. My first good run of the category considering how easy it is to bleed time everywhere. I still need to learn strats and better routes to sub 2:50. But man, what a nice run this is to my standards with the routes that I used! Could be my 2nd best Spyro Reignited Speedrun to date right behind my 1:58:28 Spyro 1 120% PB. Also this run bumps me up to 3rd place on the console leaderboards which is pretty cool. I don’t like Robotica Farms in this category since it is the last level and you can loose a lot of time for no reason on supercharge jumps that doesn’t work. Highlight of the run was me somehow saving the supercharge stutter jump on Robotica Farms. I didn’t plan on jumping on the pipe but it sure did scared me. Worst parts of the run were mostly Magma Cone, Metropolis, and the Ripto fight. Can’t believe it took me nearly 40 seconds to hit Ripto twice on the last 2 hits to finish him off.
NLS stands for No Level Storage which bans the use of the level storage glitch. Here is a video explaining what this glitch is by BetaM who also found that glitch.

I got this trilogy on PC now. I plan to speedrun with mods at some point to make interesting runs. I also can record long HD videos as I will always have enough room from now on to create them on my new Mac so enjoy the HD! :D

It feels good to PB by over 2 minutes and get away from the sub 3 barrier. Did 3 runs in 4 days. I haven’t worked on any major routing yet so sub 2:55 will be a decent goal for me in the future. The main highlights are the Gulp and the Ripto fights. The 1st phrase of Ripto was insane, I thought I had 1 cycled him for a moment, haha. That is the real highlight of this run. Also nice to sub 2:10 IGT.
I don’t have any speedrun plans at the moment. So far recently all I did before these runs was getting the Crash 4 and THPS 1+2 platinum trophies. I also don’t plan on getting a PS5 anytime soon. I just might buy a computer and play WoW Classic for a change. If that happens then I am definitely getting Spyro and Crash on PC.

Being a fan of the series after getting the N. Sane Trilogy on Christmas 2018, I’m glad to experience such a classic series with modern day graphics. It was a really perfect time. After memorable years, we finally got introduced to Crash 4. So happy to see this game. I wanted to have a huge game with lots to do initially. That is what I got. Throughout casual playing, I enjoyed the 4 mask powerups that really brought something new to the table. There are pros and cons like always though. There are some parts in this game where it felt rushed but the pros outweighs them for me casually. I like how this game connects to the original trilogy in cool ways such as collecting the flash back tapes and visiting Cortex Island in 1996. Gems lost their value a little bit but I like the idea of them rewarding skins. Long load times are still an issue. I have to die every time if I want a quick reset for a time trial. Even when disabling the time trial ghosts, there is still a ghost in levels where I have to switch characters which is distracting. I know there will be some people that are going to be against this game having the Crash 1 hub world movement for traversing to different lands. My favorite aesthetic homeworlds are probably Tranquility Falls and The Sn@xx Dimension.
After beating the game, I decided to complete this game 106%. The new addition of N. Sanely Perfect Relics with long levels was really brutal. Mistakes have never been higher in a Crash game. I say that getting all platinum relics in this game is easier then getting all of the platinum relics in the N. Sane Trilogy.
The platinum trophy grind started from October 3rd to October 21st of me suffering. I’m glad that the next Crash/Spyro game will be Spyro 2022 so that I can relax, lol.
106:10:57 Total Playtime.
#NeverAgain
For the endings, I'm a little disappointed that the 106% ending was so short but the other endings was worth it.
Top 20 106% parts ranked based on my pain and personal experience. I did time trials last. Since I wanted to be done with the game at that point, platinum relics are placed higher on this list. Luckily I also got through some really tough parts without too much trouble such as getting the Bears Repeating perfect relic run without having to play that level 5 billion times. More stars means more frustrating it is in general.
1st: Toxic Tunnels Platinum Relic ***
2nd: Rock Blocked Platinum Relic ****
3rd: Seeing Double Platinum Relic **
4th: Nitro Processing Platinum Relic ****
5th: Rush Hour Perfect Relic Run ***
6th: Crash Landing Perfect Relic Run ****
7th: Toxic Tunnels Perfect Relic Run *****
8th: Building Bridges Perfect Relic Run *****
9th: Bears Repeating Perfect Relic Run *****
10th: The Crate Escape Platinum Relic **
11th: Off-Balance Platinum Relic **
12th: Ship Happens Perfect Relic Run ***
13th: Rush Hour Platinum Relic **
14th: Food Run Platinum Relic *
15th: Draggin’ On Platinum Run *
16th: Hit the Road Platinum Relic **
17th: Rock Blocked Perfect Relic Run ***
18th: No Dilly Dallying Platinum Relic **
19th: N. Sanity Peak Platinum Relic (lol)
20th: No Dilly Dallying Perfect Relic Run **
What I did with vehicle level perfect relic attempts is making it to the vehicle part with 0 deaths then no matter how much I die, I will try and get all boxes each time to the end of the level. Then I got decent muscle memory. I consider myself lucky but Crash Landing really did suck for me loosing 4 or so runs right at the very end.
Thanks for watching and reading! :D

My first run that went under 2 hours. This run is pretty decent for my skill level. I still need to learn more strats. The last 10 minutes of the run was N sanely stressful but I’m glad that I didn’t choke it. What helps me stay calm when running this category seriously is running against my best pace splits (My fastest pace ever on each split) instead of running up against my PB splits. Just a thought since this category is easy to loose time in the end. Glad I subbed 2 before getting my hands on Crash 4. I still need to learn hobslides, lol.

Lap 3: 24:52
On April 23rd, I decided to improve my Dragon Mines PB that was a 1:17:37 at the time. At the end of that day, my PB was 1:16:04. With that improvement in that amount of time, I was thinking that I could get a 1:15 with no huge grind. Oh boy, was I wrong. It took me 5 days of Hell to finally get it with about 1,000 attempts. The grind sucked so much. While attempting this, the following game mechanic that is horrible really got me at times. Sometimes after powerslide boosting while I was holding the L1 button, if I held the button longer then usual and then tried to jump with the R1 button, it delayed my jump (It could be from getting a boost?). Don’t know why this is a thing but it made this grind that more frustrating and I hope Beenox fixes this.
Lap 1 was amazing. I'm not that satisfied with my performance on laps 2 and 3 but they are good enough to get 1:15 so I will be taking a break from Dragon Mines. I think this run could be my #1 achievement in this game so far.
Are you guys are interested in seeing more time trials by me? Which ones? :)

Also which speedrun would you rather see from me?
#1: Run all 40 time trials in order from Crash Cove to Drive-Thru Danger.
OR
#2: Beat all 40 dev time trials in order from Crash Cove to Drive-Thru Danger. (Cannot tie any dev times)
The first option is basically more of a relaxed speedrun that could be interesting to run for me.
I am not fit to run #2 good but I’m up for this hellish challenge. Mostly because my consistency won’t last forever and I’m decent on mostly all of the tracks at the moment. I made these speedrun ideas just to have fun and it would be cool to see someone way better then me speedrun #2.
Here is my PBs on each time trial (will get updated each time I PB). Keep in mind that I might not reach my potential times though but I will try. More *s on a track means the more satisfied I am with my PB of the track. I use speed on all tracks.

This run as well as all the other Crash runs on my channel includes load times.
This category is filled with plenty of places to make you loose time. But what do you expect? This is Crash Bandicoot after all! 2:28:55 was my former PB back in 2019 and I am glad I now subbed 2:05. I’m done with this category for now but sub 2 could happen someday for me.

My first ever sub 3. In the future I might push this to sub 2:55 since there is still a lot for me to implement strats in the run. The beginning of the run was decent but then dumb and huge time losses started to happen throughout the run. The bridge clip in Skelos Badlands. The Zepher seed disaster. Me taking forever finding a gem in Autumn Plains. The Cloud Temples disaster that includes the game forcing me to death abuse. Me backtracking through Summer Forest for a red gem. The list goes on and on. The more I played the run, the more I felt I wasn’t going to sub 3. I wasn’t consistent with Robotica Farms and Ripto but I knew that was the only way to sub 3 at that point. Then here we are with sub 3. Such a weird run. Also there is no level storage glitch in this run because it is impossible for me to produce the glitch since my loading times are unfortunately too long.

Timing is in RTA and starts on the final start menu input and ends upon the final hit of the Sorceress in Super Bonus Round.
Final RTA Time: Around 9:36:05.36
In-game Time: 6:56:44
World Record from March 8th, 2020 to July 24th, 2021
Goal was sub 9:40. A decent run where a couple of disasters took place but not too bad considering the length of the category.
Spyro 1
Final RTA Time: Around 2:02:01.89
IGT: 1:22:13
Seems like a bad run, however my goal was to get a 2:02:XX run anyways to compete with my former Trifecta PB’s Spyro 1 run that got a 2:00:50.
Spyro 2
Final RTA Time: Around 3:02:49.19
IGT: 2:14:30
Decent run with some really dumb mistakes such as going through the Hurricos portal twice.
Spyro 3
Final RTA Time: Around 4:26:10.79
IGT: 3:20:01
The crash just sealed the deal with me. I LOVE speedrunning 117% but when there is a chance that it might crash the game at a very late level, I’m done. So far I have had 2 crashes that have happened that were both in the tanks shooting minigame of Haunted Tomb. The first is when I was collecting the first egg when completing the first challenge and the second is in this Trifecta run. This crash have costed me over 3 minutes in RTA timing and over 1 minute and 30 seconds in IGT timing. If this crash didn’t happen then I would have PBed by a decent amount in both RTA and IGT. My final goal was sub 4:20 RTA but I will not run this category anymore seriously unless I find out what causes the random crashing. But on the bright side, the first Sorceress fight of this run was the best that I have fought her by far so at least that is a plus.
This Trifecta run has beaten the former WR that was 9:37:12 (6:59:25 IGT) by Jumpyluff that used no level storage glitches. This is now a separate category that bans that glitch. By the way, my loading times are too long to produce the glitch anyways. The PS4 Trifecta WR that uses this glitch is 8:21:41 (5:52:22 IGT) by Jumpyluff. I finally got this game on PC!
Since my Game Capture HD recorder can’t record for more then 6 hours, I had to record in real life for a moment during the break from Spyro 2 to Spyro 3 to continue the video without no interruptions.
Splits here.

My RTA PB of this category. Final goal was sub 4:20 but crashing randomly in the tanks area of Haunted Tomb have stopped me. It is dumb to have runs being based on if the game is going to crash or not. Maybe if I can find a way around the crash issue, I will continue my goal.
The theme of this run seems to be me taking forever to hit moving objects. A fine example is me taking a long time to hit the UFOs in the Super Bonus Round, wasting a minute or so.

Did this almost 6 months ago, lol. I never played any Crash racing games before this game came out so I decided to get it. I am more of an IL runner rather then a full game runner of this game. One of the main reasons is the loading times are too long.
Getting a 2:28 is the final goal for me on this track. Glad I did it. Lap 1 was slow but laps 2 and 3 were good for my skill level. Grinding this track out was a nightmare though and the physics can betray you. It was easy to get frustrated at the game. But overall, I would say this is one of my prized achievements of this game for playing it for months.
What a great game with great game mechanics. Skill base is a huge factor of this game and I enjoyed from the moment where I can barely do a boost for days all the way to grinding time trial goals. It has been quite a ride. Getting better and better at a game is one of the things I am looking for when playing a new game for replay value.
As a completionist, I also have gotten 99% what the game has to offer so far. When I brought this game online when it first became available for me to do so and digitally downloaded it onto my PS4, I thought nothing of special editions. So I found out about the Nitro Oxide Edition 2-3 months into playing this game. Hopefully there will be an option for me to get this without wiping everything because as far as I know, it is impossible to get it without starting new.

Extremely happy with how well the run went considering how brutal this category is, such as having glitches that will lose you minutes for no reason. Sub 10 was a huge goal of mine and I’m glad it finally happened.
Spyro 1
Final RTA Time: Around 2:00:50.46

Wasted forever in Lofty Castle but other then that, a decent run. The only game that I didn’t PB during this trifecta.
Spyro 2
Final RTA Time: Around 3:04:55.13
IGT: 2:17:39
Sub 3:05! Some parts of the run were dumb though. Shoutouts to one of the fire guys being glitched out in Cloud Temples. Luckily it was one that I can bypass. The first time this glitch happened to me, I had to die to reset a one that I needed to complete the challenge.
Spyro 3
Final RTA Time: Around 4:31:14.40
IGT: 3:25:19
The Seashell Shore water tunnel and me circling around the whole level of Starfish Reef to find and collect a 2 gem that was right in front of me are the 2 main complaints, lol. A good time for a trifecta at my skill level.
I am now minutes away from the current WR in this category. The WR is 9:37:12 (6:59:25 IGT) by Jumpyluff. I am glad to stop with this run and take a break from speedrunning for now since I have been going hard with Spyro lately.
Since my Game Capture HD recorder can’t record more then 6 hours, I had to record in real life for a moment during the break from Spyro 2 to Spyro 3 to continue the video without no interruptions.

Over a 5 minute PB upon subbing 3:10 which is pretty cool. The 2 huge complaints about this run are me exiting out of Metro Speedway by mistake and the Robotica Farms Supercharge ramp not cooperating. Other then that, this was a decent run. I have no plans on improving this as of now. For me, being consistent with this category is so much harder then 120%. For example in 1 run, it was impossible for me to complete the 3 bells orb challenge in Cloud Temple without dying because one of the fire guys was glitched in place. 117% will be a different story because there are a lot more detrimental glitches in 3 that will lose minutes for no reason.
Sometime in the future, I will work on 117% next for at least a sub 4:40. Then it is a matter of time when I will try to go for a sub 10 in a Trifecta run.

Timing starts when I touch the clock and ends on Crash going on the exit platform. In-game timer is used.
Here is my best time on this level that beats the developer’s time of 51:65. So far, my Crash 1 IL times are far more optimized then my Crash 2 and 3 IL times. My Crash 2 IL times are the weakest since I just wanted to get every platinum in Crash 2 and to me personally, I don't like most of the Crash 2 time trials.
Beating the developer’s time of this level is way harder then beating the developer’s time in The High Road for me. I have a bunch of lee way in The High Road but Road to Nowhere’s margin for error is very small.
I’m glad that they brought time trails in Crash 1 and 2 in the remake because the replay value of this game with them is remarkable for me.
Crash 1 is my favorite to do because it is pure platforming. There is no hobsliding in any of my Crash 2 and 3 runs because it is a trick that I haven’t really practiced at all. I say Crash 2 is the worst to get all of the platinums in my person opinion. I hated getting Crash Crush's and Sewer or Later's platinum relics the most in Crash 2 and possibly the whole trilogy.
In Crash 3, I wasn’t a huge fan on hitting the timer with the wumpa launcher because it made some levels like Gone Tomrrow and Future Tense tedious to start the run. In Future Tense, you have to aim at the clock at a far away distance when going for great times.
These were some of my thoughts in doing IL runs in this game. I always wanted to be good at Crash games especially 1 because I didn’t grown up with Crash games and as a speedrunner, Crash games are excellent games to run. Now that I have experience Crash 1-3 for the first time in HD, I felt I miss a lot in my childhood, lol. Although to be fair, I wouldn’t have beaten Crash 1 as a kid back then since I wasn’t that good at playing video games.

My 3rd goal in this game was to sub 1 in Crash 3 Any%. I really like Crash 3 but I seem to not get the timing of double jumping while attempting to do a double jump with a death tornado spin and it is by far the most frustrating thing in this category for me. For example in Flaming Passion at the beginning of the level, I failed to do a double jump and Crash dies because I was late hitting the button. I must get good, lol. Overall, this run is decent with some bad parts.

I figured I show the other DLC level's time trial from this game. For me personally, this was more frustrating to get compared to Stormy Ascent probably because there is little leeway in this level to get platinum and at this point I am so used to the movement in Stormy Ascent.

This is to date, my best Crash run out of the trilogy pack. This run was crazy good for my current skill level. I still have yet to incorporate getting the green gem from The Lost City to skip Castle Machinery. The only death was in Road to Nowhere.
I will not submit this run or any full game runs to the leaderboards because the community wants to include loadless times as well for submissions and you can get a special modified LiveSplit timer for that. But since I have a Mac and not a PC, LiveSplit doesn’t work on Macs. I heard that there was an excel spreadsheet (Which could be inaccurate currently because the load times are not consistent anymore?) somewhere to subtract time from your run to have a loadless time but I couldn’t find it anywhere. I don't want to rely on the live split internet version as well just in case I loose internet. Quite unfortunate for me but they made it this way to have good quality control for submissions so I understand why they made that decision.

I got Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy recently because I have never played any Crash games before. I've got to say, this game has gotten me hooked! I played this game like crazy from January to the end of March. With that completionist inside of me, I eventually got all 84 platinums within all 3 games. There were many relics that I hated to get.
For this level, I kind of had to play through this level over and over again many times until I had good movement and knew how to implement shortcuts properly. Fun to attempt but frustratingly difficult to try and get a sub 3 for me.
Stay tuned for 5 more Crash videos from me. I plan to possibly go back to Spyro now.

For some reason, I do really poorly in the beginning and in the end of 117% runs. Sunrise Spring was a joke but I'm glad I finally subbed the 5.
It is worth mentioning that I also decided to test if my Game Capture HD recorder could record the whole thing. It turns out that the recorder made another video after 6 hours of recording. So I just put the 2 videos together. About 1 second and 17 frames were lost. Luckily, there was a timer on the game screen for the time attack challenge so I manage to put the 2 videos together easily in real time.

Did this arbitory category just for fun. Will improve in the future as I was just winging this run to put on the leaderboard.

It made me thinking on how to make resetless runs more fun. I thought of making a google doc that contains all of my PS4 runs. In categories that I do a lot, resetless runs getting in the top 10 of my best runs should be enough instead of focusing on PBing all the time. It really varies on how many runs I do from category to category but I thought it was a cool idea. It will get updated. Here is the link.

I did runs of this HD pack months ago and I finally am getting around to uploading them to YouTube. One of these runs was this 117% run.
This run was done about 2 months ago and this was my first ever 117% run in SRT. Nowhere near a decent run and this was just a run that tested certain routes. I was improvising half the time. This run shows certain routes that I came up with this game, such as completing Molten Crater, Bamboo Terrace, and Fireworks Factory fast and doing the backtracks later after completing Agent 9. I did Buzz twice because I didn’t know that you are suppose to travel to Midday Gardens to actually let the game know that you have defeated Buzz. In the original game, that wasn’t the case. Also I should note that you should get at least 2 fast free eggs in any of the 3 levels (Molten Crater, Bamboo Terrace, and Fireworks Factory) that are left for the backtracks to unlock the sorceress’s 100 egg door in Midnight Mountain. In this run, I thought that I should surpassed that no problem but then I was 1 egg short as I only collected 1 egg. Since Zoey gives Spark no powerup after defeating the Spider Town boss, I should have teleported to Evening Lake instead of exiting that level when I completed that level. I think sub 4 RTA timing will happen someday in this category.
Splits here.

I decided to do an arbitrary category in this game where you have to collect the 8 bones from the lava toads and watch the full dance that the bone guy does. This is my 2nd run and it can easily be beaten. Skelos Badlands was a total disaster unfortunately. An optimal run would include better routing and skips such as skipping Moneybags in Glimmer but I’ll implement those later. Expect more videos on this remaster from me.

100th video on YouTube by the way! :D
Thoughts about this game: A remastered version of the original 3 games is actually something that I had dreamed of for a long time. It is nice to see this HD pack finally here BUT after my casual Max% playthrough of all three games, I was fairy disappointed in some things such as long loading times and certain glitches. Some glitches were even being detriment at times to my gameplay as a player unfortunately. Nowhere near bad as Enter the Dragonfly though. There are many pros and cons but I must say how amazing the visual experience is. I love the Enchanted Towers skate park because how glossy the floors are.

Kind of a bad run that was good enough to sub 1:20. Still have to learn some strats and routes that I have yet to know. This run had some really bad parts that makes sub 1:15 a great goal for me to have but I don’t know if I will continue this or not for now.
I went to the secret bonus warp area in the first level of the run that made me gain access to the Planet X remote early. All you have to do after the jump at 0:50 is to hold only the up button for Gex to climb an invisible wall for him to grab onto and climb up to the secret area of the level.

What a run! :D End goal was sub 2:15. Smashed it with sub 2:14. I am extremely happy with this time. The journey is finally over with this category after years and years of playing this on and off. I may return in the future if something major happens or if someone beats this time. But for now, I would like to focus on other categories.
Overall, this run is something to be proud of considering how inconsistent and punishing this category is. Gameplay wise, I played better then usual throughout the whole run but I wasted a bunch of time on TV cancels in Mythology Network and FairyTales TV. It's a shame that I wasted nearly 30 seconds on the 2nd TV cancel in FairyTales TV on this run, otherwise I would have been really satisfied with this run. I could probably get a 2:12 if I really grind this category out but TV cancels is what makes this category really brutal and not fun once you have to rely on them to PB again. For that reason, Holy Moses is a horrible level due to how inconsistent the camel can be and the frame perfect TV cancel at the end that is 40 minutes into a run.

Didn’t expect to get this sort of run so soon. Finished Lake Flaccid in 1:04:26 which is my best pace ever entering Slappy Valley. The second half of the run though was nerve racking to say the least. Without looking at my splits at the end, I thought I subbed 2:15 but I guess me wasting a lot of time on certain TV cancels in the 2nd half of the run prevented that from happening. Besides that, this whole run was solid and I am happy with this time. I might grind for 2:14 but this category is extremely brutal and punishing. I am more likely going to have to rely on getting the Holy Moses frame perfect TV cancel to get 2:14 which sucks considering it is 40 minutes in. Nonetheless, I’m glad this run happened. :)

Now I am getting somewhere :) Apart from failing the frame perfect TV cancel in Holy Moses and failing the stupid rainbow TV cancel in Mythology Network, this is a solid run. My goal for now is 2:14.
For those of you who are unaware, there was this huge discovery that saves a lot of time in this category called “Slide TV Cancel”. Here are 2 videos you should see about this new trick.
youtu.be/0AzSz-m8uTM
youtu.be/HnbRkYn03LM
This discovery actually makes Mythology Network so much better then before because I can now TV cancel off of the first TV in that level without risking my whole run to a frame perfect TV cancel. It feels so good to erase that 1 frame trick that was required but it also opens up a lot of scary TV cancels in the 2nd half of the run that if I fail one, I will loose minutes. For that reason, this category gets more brutal in the 2nd half of the run.
