The fired ceramic process is used mostly in the memorial business, but i figured the epoxy process would be a great way to memorialize frends, family pets or what ever for indore use. I don't know how long the epoxy encapsulation would last outside, but I am running a experiment on that....it will take awhile. Horse Hair Raku (and Feathers) Capt Mike 2021-04-30 | A viewer asked could you do a horse hair Raku typ application to ceramics heated in a microwave kiln. Challange accepted and here are the results. I know I could produce better results, but for a spur of the moment experiment I don't think it turned out so bad, I expecially like the one where I used a glazed pieceand how the glaze showed through the carbon left by the feathers. Ash Glaze on the Barbie Part Two Capt Mike 2021-04-03 | Here is part 2 of the latest ash glaze experiments. The cups used to glaze were made from com 6 slip and the ash glaze fired to cone 6. When I hace cups made from cone 10 slip I will see how the ash glaze looks fired to cone 10. If there is a noticable difference I will make a short video. Simple DIY Melt & Pour Base Capt Mike 2020-12-11 | I gave this my best shot so I hope it helps someone looking to make melt and pour base. All 2 oil bses were mixed 50/50 each oil and lye calculated on a lye calculater the-sage.com/lyecalc . Glycerin was 11% total oil volume, Propylene Glycol was 6% and Sorbitol @ 7%. The Glycerin, Glycol and sorbitol can be increased or decreased as required.The 3 oil soap oils were divided into equial parts.
