Arranged by myself for the Roland SC-88 Pro, recorded on hardware
It's been a while since I covered anything and this one has been sitting in various states of completion on my PC for the better part of a year and I finally decided to finish it.
This is my favorite song from Chapter 2 and I thought it would be a fun idea to cover it with the Sound Canvas. It was a lot harder to transcribe and sequence than I initially anticipated it to be. There's a lot of instruments practically hidden in the mix which turned out to be quite difficult to accurately discern by ear. There's a lot of improvisation in this as far as some chords go, but overall I'm quite pleased with the end results.

A tribute to a half-decade old 4chan fad. More exploitable than "Fresh Prince"? You decide.
I was going to make a big list of every song used in this mix but I thought it would be a hell of a lot more cruel and therefore fun to make the whole damn thing a guessing game.
Actually nevermind I annotated the thing. MP3 probably coming sometime. Yes, I'll spend an hour annotating a video but not five minutes uploading an MP3. I'm that lazy.
THE GREATEST SONG EVER
Also MP4 test to see if this is still playing at 60 frames per second on Youtube.
The Japanese version of Dragon Ball: Raging Blast 2 contains many songs from the show which were removed in the NTSC-U and PAL versions, unfortunately. One of these songs is an awesome rendition of Unmei no Hi that replaces Kageyama's vocals with a saxophone (One of the few tracks to use a real instrument and not MIDI, too).
Just figured I'd slap the two together because they synchronize so easily. I edited out the solo in the middle of the original since it wasn't in the Raging Blast version and sounded awkward cutting off that just to hear the original only for a bit.
Composed by: Chiho Kiyooka
Vocals: Hironobu Kageyama
Raging Blast 2 Arrangement: Toshiyuki Kishi
Because this isn't something fucking retarded like a Hulk Hogan or DMX mix, it's quite obvious that this wasn't my original idea. Some anonymous dude asked me to mix the two of these, and I think it turned out pretty well.

This was my little personal project for a long time, and I think it deserves to be on YouTube.
The original soundtrack for Sonic CD is what I believe to be the absolute greatest soundtrack to a video game ever made. I've never heard a soundtrack that added so much more enjoyment to a video game than this, and when I heard it fully for the first time in 2004, I could not believe the insult Sega of America did to the game and the people of the United States when they completely changed the soundtrack. Nothing against Spencer Nilsen, he is a great composer and his two Ecco soundtracks on the Sega CD are some of my favorites, but I simply could not believe during a time of electronic music's rising popularity in the early 90s that Sega would make such a dramatic decision so late in the localization.
But I'm rambling. What you are listening to now is my best attempt at making the soundtrack go as seamlessly as possible, with as little pauses and fade-outs that I could work around with. Over the course of two years I've redone it at least three times over and I don't think there is much more room for improvement at this point, though I'd love to hear some.

Special thanks to SeductiveBaz for being crazy enough to archive this video and not me for losing it.
Forgot I had this until now, to be completely honest. In retrospect it's really lousy and amateurish but oh well I still almost sort of like it. That bass is dreadful, though. This was made November 7th, 2006. I have fixed it up a small bit this time, something I usually don't do with old stuff unless there was a big deal about the song I never liked, in which case the pitch was off for a good portion of the song. I also changed some instruments around and I think it sounds a lot better than it did four years ago but other than that it's the same composition all that jazz. This has always been one of my favorite--if not my absolute favorite-- title screen theme in a video game. Playing this as a child, it, alongside Sonic 1, really kicked me off to get heavily interested in video game music.
Original is still here, http://sheezyart.com/art/view/971966, in all its off-pitch...ness.
Made July 28, 2007. Out of all the video game arrangements I did back then, this is one of the three I still like. It's short, not too boring, and the synths and effects work well. I'm surprised I figured out how to do half the stuff here when I did.
Still sounds very...I dunno how to put it, FL Studio-y, but I like it to this day. Anyway, that's why I'm putting it up here now, because I still enjoy it and perhaps somebody else who's not familiar with my music will.
Listening to it now, I don't like how the "Selected" music at the end turned out. I'll probably make it better later.
Actually, not really that old. As of last week, it's actually only a year old. Had a lot of fun making this, as I finally figured out how to TRULY take instruments out of Genesis games. Before I had manually done it with sound recorder and stereo mix with songs where during certain parts only one channel would be playing. A complete pain in the ass. So I had a shitton more synths at my disposal to play with, and this was the result.
Again, a really elaborate song, but this one's much better than the first. Less random, anyway. Also, lots of effects in this song not representative of the YM2612's capabilities, too.
Fun facts:
Composition date: April 30, 2009 to May 7, 2009.
Instruments:
Piano at beginning- Streets of Rage, intro
Bell- Sonic 1, Star Light Zone
Synth chord heard right after- Sonic 1, Special Stage
Trumpet- Dynamite Headdy
Guitar- Dynamite Headdy, Nasty Gatekeeper boss
Drums- Dynamite Headdy
Synth at 1:35- Road Rash II, title screen
This is another oldie, but one of my favorites. This was the first song I composed specifically with the Genesis instruments in mind. Aside from the ones MrSimon provided me with earlier, I ripped a number myself for this one.
Bear in mind that these compositions are NOT meant to represent the sound chip's capabilities. They were not composed with the limitations in mind, thus why there are so many effects added such as the delay (Which I really whored out back then).
In retrospect, I still enjoy this. It's very elaborate--a problem I have with composing music. I never know where to stop. Always going one place to another. This is very apparent when the song changes entirely at the 2:40 mark.
Fun facts:
Composition date: September 12, 2007.
Original filename: Sega Shit
Instruments:
Beginning synth- Thunder Force IV's continue screen
Drums- Sonic 1
Bass- Sonic 1
Cowbell sounding thing- Dynamite Headdy's title screen/intro stage
Synth right after that- Sonic 1, Star Light Zone
Chord synth thing- Dynamite Headdy. I think stage complete song.
As you can see I am completely musically illiterate and don't know what to call anything
Because all the cool kids are doing it. The first of my three original FM compositions. Based off an original piano piece I composed titled Tranquility, MrSimon soon sent me various samples from Sega Genesis games and I decided to re-edit the song into this. Aside from the new instruments, I altered the intro, added a (shitty) drum track, and also added on a bass track.
Fun facts:
Original composition- June 12, 2007, 6-7 PM
FM version- September 26, 2007.
Instruments:
Everything is from Sonic 1.
I know a bunch of you have been asking me to reupload this since that day, and I said I'd upload it when I completed it. So I finally did. This one's for you.
-Unoriginal content-
My favorite song from the series; this video is the two versions of the song combined into one and I think they both lend to each other really well.

Oh and today is Colonel Sanders' birthday so everyone should go to KFC today to pick up some good cruspy chicken it is required by law in fourteeen states. Forget the Dreamcast and get a bucket of the colonel's finest. Or play Dreamcast while eating KFC, but then your controllers will get greasy and you'll have to wipe your hands on your shirt. It's quite the dilemma.
