Here experiments eventually resulted in the creation of the sinspawn, fearsome soldiers who changed the face of Thassilonian warfare forever. This new empire would become Thassilon, and Xin would become it's legendary First King. Xin and his followers eventually developed a new theory of magic which drew upon the archaic and mysterious runes of the goddess Lissala. But, in working directly with the language of creation itself, Xin and his mightiest apprentices- whom he dubbed the Runelords- exposed themselves to a terrible danger. As Xin isolated himself from the world, and devled further and further into his own magical theories, the Runelords became corrupted by Sin. So great was their fall, that the seven former apprentices soon found themselves plotting the death of the man they had once called master.
