Capra RoboticsKeeping paved areas free from snow and ice is a core public task. Current methodologies, while effective to some extent, have revealed several drawbacks that hinder efficiency, safety, and sustainability. As we face increasing labor shortages and growing concerns about the environment, the need for innovative solutions has never been more critical.
Conventional methods often put immense strain on limited resources, both human and financial. The use of excessive salt for de-icing raises concerns about its negative impact on the environment, as salt can corrode underground pipes and cause damage to roads and sidewalks, leading to additional repair costs and environmental strain. With an ongoing shortage of labor, the reliance on manual de-icing and surface defrosting methods has become increasingly problematic. It not only diverts valuable human resources from other essential tasks but also exposes workers to potentially hazardous conditions.
Our mobile robots are designed to operate autonomously, covering vast areas quickly and efficiently. This drastically reduces the need for manual labor and ensures prompt surface defrosting, even in the harshest conditions. Our solution features a 36-liter brine-containing top module that can cover an area of 1800 m2 with a full tank. The brine utilizes 30-70% less salt compared to traditional methods, which not only saves costs but also minimizes the harmful effects of excess salt on infrastructure and the environment.
Embrace innovation and join us in transforming the way we approach surface defrosting in public spaces.

Our mobile robot is seamlessly integrated into existing operations, and tasks generated in their central management system are easily communicated to the robot via the Capra Fleet Manager using the standardized VDA5050 interface.
VELUX sees immense potential in bridging the gap between indoor and outdoor transport, and the integrated gate control, automated pick-up and drop-off, and wireless charging are among the reasons why the adaptable AMR from Capra Robotics is the obvious solution to this end.
No one’s logistical flow stops at their gate, and we believe, neither should their automationCigarette Removal | Urban Maintenance | Capra RoboticsCapra Robotics2023-09-22 | The unrelenting problem of discarded cigarette litter is visible on every street. At an alarming rate, harmful cigarette butts have infiltrated our surroundings. Cigarette butts are the most frequently littered product in the world, and upwards of 75% end up in nature or on the street where it releases toxic microplastics and other harmful contaminates.
Because cigarette butts are classified as single-use plastics, they are covered by The European Union's Single-Use Plastics Directive (SUP) and Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR). This effectively means that from 2023, manufacturers must bear the cost of removal, which is approximately 3 DKK per discarded cigarette. The current methods for cigarette litter removal are laborious and repetitive work – a challenge further amplified by the current labor shortage trend. So even though the cost can be invoiced to the manufacturer, it is hard to find enough employees to do the task.
Our solution to this problem is a mobile robot for autonomous cigarette collection. We believe that robots should conduct dull, dirty, and dangerous job tasks and that people should not have to clean up after others.
Our robots guarantee a minimum of 80% cigarette litter removal through their AI-powered vision system. The system ensures efficient navigation and swift identification of cigarette litter. Covering up to 50,000 m² in 8 hours, our robots redefine efficiency and scale in litter collection. With a cigarette tank that accommodates up to 1,000 discarded items, our robots work tirelessly to restore urban cleanliness. Our robots provide a unique opportunity to relieve and upgrade the skills of municipal service employees to foremen of robots. One employee can oversee up to 5 robots at a time.
