Another MIDI file recovered from the dead 2018 HDD. Also one I really like and inspired by a trip to Iceland back then. Feel free to use the MIDI for whatever purpose.

Managed to recover some MIDI files from the HDD that got fried in late 2018. Happy to finally release this one as it's one of my favourites. Feel free to do whatever you want with the MIDI.

Concept inspired by Buckethead's pikes.
Features:
- Melee attack, can also be used to pick up corpses and explosive barrels;
- Blaster secondary, deals 5x more damage;
- Shotgun secondary, shoots an explosive slug;
- Chaingun turret mode, deals 2x damage at the cost of movement speed;
- Railgun siege mode, deals 3x damage at the cost of movement speed;
- More gibs.
Had plans for a DOOM-like upgrade system (Praetor tokens / weapon upgrades) and a fleshed out coop mode, but Quake II is simply too limited unless I decide to write a custom client.

Laughing Gas is an extremely rare ammo type for the Gas Gun, only appearing in a few secret areas. It permantently paralyzes enemies and causes them to (literally) die of laughter.
Cheats were used to access Laughing Gas in the early levels, obviously. Bosses are immune to the gas and 2 monsters unique to the secret submarine level are left out in this video because you cannot access the Gas Gun there.
Nothing too special, just a bunch of arena-style maps introducing the new enemies and weapons. Started sweating at the Plasma Gun test map though, shit's intense! These are very short maps, so instead of individual videos for each map I play through all of them in one sitting.
So this is the end of the Arcane Dimensions playthrough. It's the best Quake map pack I've played so far and highly recommend it. I hope you found use to my videos in either an entertaining or useful way. If so, please let me know by commenting or leaving a like!
The end. Thanks for watching!

Yet another test map. There's a few switches thrown around to toggle stuff like lights and health pools, a monster infighting demo and it showcases some new enemies via arena fights. Other than that, it's pretty much a fully fledged Quake map.
There's 2 broken monster spawners in this map sadly. A Shambler is supposed to spawn when you grab the Lightning Gun. An Ogre is supposed to spawn in one of the many hallways, but never appears. Another thing I didn't like was the huge amount of unmarked secrets. Other than that, it's pretty fun. Reminds me of a Serious Sam level with the arena-style rooms.
Secrets:
01. (08:15) Grab the Silver Key at (01:24) to access an ammo depot.
Download here: goo.gl/0CKBqn
Hard to believe this beautiful map is a test map, but it really is. It's a test level showcasing rotating brushes and more. Awesome map! Shame about the unmarked secrets and broken monster spawner though. There's supposed to be a Hammer Ogre in front of the fan you destroy from the inside, but he never spawns. Other than that, go check it out! It's a hidden gem.
Also there's no intermission screen at the end which caught me off guard.
Download here: goo.gl/0CKBqn
It's a test level for breakables, but could easily be some random short high-quality Quake map. It's an okay map. I almost forgot to trigger the final secret, that's why I was looking around at the end because I couldn't remember which one I missed.
Secrets:
01. (00:01) Break the wooden panels and collect the Shadow Axe.
02. (00:53) Break the wooden panels for a Widowmaker Shotgun.
03. (01:35) Break the wall for a hidden Grenade Launcher.
04. (02:32) Break the wooden panels for a Lightning Gun.
05. (03:41) Destroy the boxes to reveal some Green Armour.
06. (03:54) Destroy the boxes and tear down the wall for some Green Armour.
07. (04:31) Break the wooden panels and jump to the window for Green Armour.
08. (06:39) Destroy the box to reveal a hidden battery cell.
Download here: goo.gl/0CKBqn
The final (secret) level which is accessible once you collect all 4 Runes. It's kinda weird to 100% because only 1 monster is shown on the total kills screen, so I think I got them all. Surprisingly tough map with all the Gaunts surrounding you too. I like it!
There's still a few test levels to play, so this is not the end yet.
Secrets:
01. (01:06) Break the floor and read the book to spawn a Super Nailgun at the start of the map for an extra round of unholy evilness.
Download here: goo.gl/0CKBqn
A remix of Quake's DM5. The map's pretty chill and the secrets weren't too hard to find. The final secret area is a nice throwback as well, I like it.
Secrets:
01. (00:19) Jump up the boxes for the Shadow Axe.
02. (02:14) Swim towards the lit up cross for some ammo.
03. (04:04) Jump through the window for a Grenade Launcher.
04. (04:39) Shoot the grate for a hidden Sharpshooter artifact.
05. (04:57) Break the wall for a hidden Mega Health and valve.
06. (05:47) Shoot the wall to reveal a hidden Widowmaker Shotgun and valve.
07. (09:08) Collect the Silver Key (06:41) by turning all 4 valves plus the 2 hidden ones to access the original DM5.
Download here: goo.gl/0CKBqn
A remix of Quake's DM1. There's a broken Crossbow Knight on this bridge (05:10) which will never spawn. It has a targetname, but nothing's targeting it so 100% kills is out of the question. As for the map itself: it's pretty sick. Fairly short, but action-packed.
Secrets:
01. (00:01) Climb up the bricks for a Super Shotgun.
02. (00:05) Shoot the stained glass to reveal a hidden area containing Green Armour.
03. (00:20) Walk behind the wall for the Shadow Axe.
04. (00:39) Walk over the hidden brick switch to reveal some Yellow Armour.
05. (01:41) Shoot the book to reveal a Mega Health.
06. (02:30) Make haste to the door after pressing the switch at (02:20) to collect Quad Damage.
07. (04:35) Shoot the stained glass to spawn Quad Damage.
08. (06:06) Walk through the wall for a hidden Nail Piercer artifact.
Download here: goo.gl/0CKBqn
A remix of Quake's E2M7. I've always liked The Underearth so a modernised remix was quite a treat.
Secrets:
01. (01:03) Push the brick button to open the door below which contains some Green Armour.
02. (01:56) Collect the Blood Key at (00:42) to open this door which contains Quad Damage.
03. (02:09) Shoot the button to reveal a Grenade Launcher.
04. (02:32) Do some platforming to collect a Lightning Gun.
05. (03:23) Shoot the hidden wall button to reveal a wooden block you can jump on. Grenade jump towards this block and collect the Yellow Armour. Unsure if this is the intended method.
06. (03:36) Strafe jump to the bookshelf and press the floor switch to reveal Quad Damage. Also unsure if this is the intended method.
Download here: goo.gl/0CKBqn
A remix of Quake's E2M2. An okay map, it looks great. You get to play as Jesus if you complete the Ring of Shadows challenge which is fun. Sadly the map suffers from a lot of unmarked secrets which is a bummer, because there's lots of hidden areas to explore.
Secrets:
01. (3:00) Jump down and shoot the wall button for an elevator ride to a Super Shotgun and Mega Health.
02. (4:05) Break the window and jump down the hole for a hidden area.
03. (5:12) Break the window, go past the vanished teleporter's portal for a secret Silver Key.
Download here: goo.gl/0CKBqn
A remix of Doom's E1M1. Kinda cool, nothing too special outside its looks to be honest. The map's 23 years old and done to death.
Secrets:
01. (00:13) Shoot the hidden ceiling button to open the vent which leads to an area with a Plasma Gun.
02. (01:09) Shoot the panel with the Earth symbol to open up a hidden area leading to a Rocket Launcher.
03. (01:23) Hit the hidden floor button to lower the elevator in the toxic room.
04. (02:14) Shoot the hidden ceiling button to open the vent at the lowered elevator secret.
Download here: goo.gl/0CKBqn
I've completed this map a dozen times and I always end up with 1 or 2 kills short. I've noclipped the entire map looking for missing monsters but I could never find anything, so I assume some spawners are broken or I'm missing a hidden trigger somewhere.
UPDATE: I found the remaining 2 kills thanks to MFX's tip, check it out here: http://tinyurl.com/h9v7ypj
Anyway, about the map itself... it's huge! It was extremely overwhelming on my first playthrough and I spent days looking for all the 25 secrets and memorising the layout. It was well worth it, although I still get a bit lost sometimes. The theme and aesthetics are amazing, but the map size is just really overwhelming. I got pretty tired of playing this one, but I'm glad I got it on video.
Secrets:
01. (00:26) Shoot the switch to open up an area holding a Nailgun.
02. (00:53) Hidden underwater cave containing Yellow Armour.

06. (06:14) Shoot window for a Mega Health.
07. (06:20) Shoot button to access an ammo depot.
08. (09:02) Shoot ceiling button, jump into the water and collect the Grenade Launcher.

01. (08:38) Silver
02. (16:22) Gold
Download here: goo.gl/0CKBqn
Fun map, I like the design and concept. Nothing too hard, but I messed up at the end and forgot to kill 2 monsters so I had to look around for a few minutes.
Secrets:
01. (01:13) Shoot the button inside the nail shooter for a Nailgun.
02. (01:39) Shoot the wall button for an ammo depot.
03. (03:51) Hit 4 torch switches for an elevator ride holding a Plasma Gun.

08. (09:47) Tear down the wooden shelf for a hidden area holding the Flesh Key.
09. (12:40) Rocket jump into the alcove for some goodies. Unsure if this is the intended method.

This is, without a doubt, my favourite AD map. It has a fantastic atmosphere and setting with lots of great fights. The boss fight at the end is a bit lackluster, but I like what they did with the Shamblers guarding the Tome of Power and attacking Chthon. The best part has to be the mini-quest where you break the Legendary Knight's curse, it's extremely well done and very rewarding. A must-play!
Secrets:
01. (01:37) Read the book.
Runes:
Make sure you read the book (01:37) to make a shootable button appear (11:00). Shoot it and follow the Legendary Knight and his instructions for the Rune which will appear in his tomb (18:16).
Download here: goo.gl/0CKBqn
One of my favourite AD maps. Great architecture with many action-packed fights, especially the final arena. Top tier level design, I highly recommend this one!
Secrets:
01. (00:01) Jump down the platform for a Super Shotgun.
02. (01:59) Break the wall for the Shadow Axe.
03. (04:00) Press button to activate a platforming section. At the end there's Quad Damage.
04. (08:00) Tear down the wall for a hidden Mega Health.
05. (10:33) Use the plank for a boosted jump and get on the upper ledge for Quad Damage.
06. (13:34) Shoot 2 ceiling buttons to lower the gates so you can collect a Mega Health.
07. (15:55) Jump down into the alcove for some Red Armour.
08. (17:47) Climb up the steep slope for a Rocket Launcher.
Download here: goo.gl/0CKBqn
Pretty amazing map! I've always liked the techbase maps from Quake and this is a huge one with lots of eye candy. The variety in Grunts/Enforcers makes it even better, but the flying drones are pretty annoying. Stay tuned for more 100% AD playthroughs.
Secrets:
01. (00:24) Break vent, push button to remove steam and collect the Grenade Launcher.
02. (01:04) Shoot button below elevator to spawn Quad Damage.
03. (06:43) Shoot button for a secret room holding a Mega Health.
04. (09:20) Break vent for hidden Quad Damage.
05. (10:58) Shoot 3 buttons to open up a new area.
06. (12:28) Open the door after collecting 4 circut boards to collect a Rune.

I've added Quake's monsters to Infighter v1.1, a Quake II mod. Each one is a direct port from .qc to .c and behave exactly the same as they did in Quake.
Quake's models and sounds may not be distributed, so you'll have to convert them yourself. It's really simple to do, just read the README inside the zip.

This record can easily be improved by at least 5 seconds if RNGesus is on your side:
1. Arcturans (Spread) walk to the Red Armour, making it easier to jump on Crushers to skip the slaughterfest part. The slower route is to wait for regular Arcturans to spawn as seen in the video.
2. Clipping through the forcefields. It's still a bit random, but pressing the forward/strafe in a sequential order seems to work better than mashing all keys at once.
3. Galactron's shield never activates.
I might give it another try, but the RNG part makes this map extremely frustrating.
