However, monkeys in Uluwatu temple have started to be more annoying now. I remember around 11 years ago, they stole my friends' phone and even sandals she was wearing! There was an actual brief fight between her and monkeys. It was so fast and felt so surreal. While seals can usually be seen at the beach all year long, the best times to visit are during late January, April and October. A BEAUTIFUL MORNING IN MORRO BAY II WATCHING OTTERS AND SEA LIONS Its Riffa 2025-04-11 | Morro Bay is a great place to spot both sea otters and sea lions. Sea otters are frequently seen near shore, especially near the South T-Pier and Harbor Walk. Sea lions often relax on docks, including a designated sea lion-only dock, and even on boats. Sea Otters:Population: Morro Bay has a healthy and growing sea otter population, primarily consisting of female otters with pups. Location: They tend to stay near shore, making them easily visible. Popular Spots: Near South T-Pier, the Harbor Walk, and next to Target Rock are good areas to spot them. Viewing: Walking the Morro Bay State Park marina or kayaking in the Estuary are also good ways to see them. Estuary: Kayaking is particularly effective in the Estuary, where otters are often seen close to paddlers. Morro Rock: Look for kelp beds to the left of Morro Rock for otter sightings.Sea Lions:Presence: California sea lions are a permanent fixture in Morro Bay year-round. Location: They are frequently found resting on docks, including the special sea lion-only dock, and even on boats. Mating Season: Adult sea lions, particularly males, migrate north after mating season, so summer is a good time to see more sea lions in Morro Bay.
