--- Thank you to Evan, Jim, Simona, Brandon, Life for helping me do the Douglas Boulevard traffic study. This is the Worst Intersection in the NetherlandsBuild the Lanes2024-04-20 | *Correction*
In the video I claimed that the Keizer Kareplein has seen 83 crashes and 3 deaths. This is not true. There have been 83 "ongevallen" over three years. It is helpful to think of this word like "traffic incident". Not every collision results in an injury. But there have not been 3 deaths. This error came about from me googling "traffic deaths Keizer karelplein" and seeing the number "3" followed by the word "slachtoffer". "Slachtoffer" means victim and not casualty and I mistakenly translated it to mean the wrong thing. This is 100% my own error. This means that the Keizer Kareplein is not at least statistically, the most dangerous intersection in the Netherlands. It does however remain a problem
*Correction* The safety findings of the Keizer Karelplein was discovered by RTL news, not NOS

Although being a very cycling friendly city, there was a missing link for people cycling from its northern suburbs to the center. With a local leadership that is not afraid of trying new ideas, the city built a unique solution designed by the engineering consultant Arcadis to complete its network.
