Idag släpper stjärnskottet Rhys sin nya singel ”Starfish” som gästas av albumaktuella Felix Sandman. Singeln startar den officiella nedräkningen mot hennes efterlängtade debutalbum Stages som släpps den 28 september.

”Starfish handlar om att längta tillbaka till en person eller ett förhållande när det har tagit slut. Den beskriver sättet jag själv minns att jag kunde glorifiera mitt förhållande i efterhand, som om det hade varit perfekt, fast det kanske inte var det. Jag och Jörgen Elofsson skrev låten en mörk eftermiddag för typ två år sedan, precis när allt var färskt mellan mig och mitt ex. Jörgen hade en idé om att skriva en låt som hette Starfish, och tadaa.”- berättar Rhys, och fortsätter:
”Att jobba med Felix har varit jättekul! Hans insats i låten förgyllde den verkligen, och gav den nytt perspektiv.”

Rhys har de senaste knappt två åren varit en av de mest lovordade debutanterna och har med hitsinglar som ”Last Dance”, ”Too Good To Be True” och ”No Vacancy” tagit sig in som en självklar stjärna på den svenska musikscenen. Hennes låtar har streamats nästan 100 miljoner gånger på Spotify och på P3 Guldgalan i år nominerades hon till Framtidens Artist. Under våren och sommaren har hon varit på en turné med 30 stopp runtom i landet – däribland på Queens of Pop Festivalen, Gröna Lund, Liseberg och Peace & Love. Den 28 september släpper hon sitt debutalbum Stages som innehåller tidigare släppta låtar samt sex helt nya spår.

”Mitt album är min heartbreak historia. Man skulle kunna se det som en berättelse som utspelar sig under ett år, under tiden då det skrevs olika låtar om de olika känslorna jag upplevde. I låtarna kan man höra hur jag går igenom ’the stages of greif’ som jag har funnit att det heter efter mycket googlande. Från svek till sorg till ilska till förnekelse till acceptans och valet att försöka ta sig ut på marknaden igen. Jag hoppas att mitt album kan hjälpa andra genom hjärtesorg och kan bli the go to relatable album.”

Hey!! My new track Maybe I Will Learn is out now!! This is a very personal song for me. I'm so happy about everything I achieved in 2017. When the year started I was totally heartbroken but my first single Swallow Your Pride and my music received such incredibly good feedback that everything else kind of felt less important. Last year I did and accomplished so many amazing things. I recorded music videos (hello dream come true!), I performed on TV and I played at some really cool festivals. I was also featured in frikkin Vogue (like what? Pinch me?)

I'm super excited about 2018 and what’s to come (lots will come, mark my words)! But already now I wanted to share a new song with you - my fans. This is from me - to you. It's a very depressing song. In a good way I hope. I think you should listen to this in the bathtub. Maybe light some candles. And think about that one person. This is one of those songs that I wrote with tears in my eyes. I hope you cry too (a bit sadistic, hehe).
