Original # 0/4 (there is now one more since the release of LAME!) is an instrumental tune that was rattling around in my head while I was behind a cash register for 6-8 hours/day at the ripe old age of 16. I was in my "compose a melodyline without ever thinking of words or trying to sing it" era, so I ended up with something that was tastefully harmony-heavy, lacking lyrics, and at the time entirely unsingable. I'm glad I let this one sit long enough to embrace it as an instrumental, and to relieve myself of the pressure of playing a viola solo i composed in Db in a similar manner to the melody line. at the time entirely unplayable. just synthesize it gurl

this piece was written by a kid with huge aspirations about being a kid with huge aspirations. I was behind the register doodling on the receipt tape when I had no customers. I was in the breakroom memorizing the cranial nerves for advanced anatomy. I drove home in my prius and turned all my assignments in by 11:59. There is this beauty in being a child trying her damnedest to enter the world. Nowadays, as I'm turning 21 and starting my first semester in pursuit of my bachelors degree in biomedicine, I find myself surrounded by people who can only warn me how hard it'll be, how I'm too soft or too flighty, and how I'll never make it to residency. I don't recall there being so much of that when I was smaller..... but if there was, I didn't care. That's where I find the beauty - never sparing a glance to the knowing, pitying head-shakers; just being a starry-eyed 16 year old in a Walmart vest and her self-assured mantra: "I'm gonna be up there one day!" :) you sure are, kj!!!

I wrote this song in 2020 when everyone's life had already been shut down for a few months. My academic pursuits fell off hard. My family was torn apart. I didn't know who I was. From that rubble came this aberration that still surprises me when people listen to it and call it a song. To me it sounds like ripping skin. Like a hole punch. It's fleshy and peristaltic and scary. A few months ago, I figured I'd never actually publish the synthesized version, so I went to my open mic and slammed it out on a guitar I didn't know how to play. They fuckin' ate it up. They ask for me to play it every time I come. Without them, nobody would know that this is how it's supposed to sound. If you've listened to me bang on my guitar and shout this piece into a microphone, thank you. This video is up because of you! I understand it's quite different from the LAME! you might know. You don't need to like it - it's never really been a song to "like." Just looking at it is enough. 2020 me would have been thrilled to have almost 4 minutes of your undivided attention. Tear it apart if you like. Dissect this alien organism until there's nothing left on the operating table. Be brutal. Be soft. But would you please put some passion into it?

I am so excited about this personally shattering piece of multimedia art that I've made but I am so sick of working on it. I'd like to finally let it go and give it to you to enjoy.
My girlfriend peaced about a month ago. There was no other way - if she wouldn't have called it I would've, but I'm tired of the whole "mourning something that died before I realized" thing. So this cover is kind of symbolic of shoving all of that out of my space and letting the rest of the world take it for once
I hope it's punchy and that it impacts you in some way. I hope you think it's huge and it makes you cry like it did to me. I hope it gives you everything you need.

gakupo is the base vocal in the verses, gumi is the base in the chorus, and you can hear them both separately (no xsy) on some harmonies
I took one semester of figure drawing and had an art crisis! my style is a little confused right now and in truth I am sitting back and allowing it to turn into whatever it wants..... so please join me in thinking that this entire piece is weird and far out and experimental! It's certainly not as polished as some of my other works, but I had a lot of fun with it, and I think that comes across nicely!

I really enjoyed making this video!!! I made a lot of weird sobbing noises around 0:30. It's my first big lipsync thing, and I'm actually really proud of the way it came together! I finished this cover in a day and a half out of sheer love for this boy. I have another cover lined up that I've been working on for some time, but then suddenly Fukase's birthday was in two weeks!! That cover will be coming soon, and it features a gift given to me by a wonderful friend.

I cried over this song too many times to count when Three Hearts came out..... and I'll admit I also cried a fair bit over this cover because life is hard and I'm in me feelings a lot..... so maybe you can get past the silliness of Len's English and get in your feelings with me? I think that's the goal of this cover
ah gosh Len really really doesn't like English in V5 though..... I don't think the cover itself is the best I've done despite my efforts, but I grew from it and the video looks great! That's the most moving parts I've animated at once - can u find all 6?

There is so much exciting stuff happening in this video! I tried drawing from a perspective I was never good at. I made Fukase - the Vocaloid some say has one of the worst ranges - jump octaves. I tried TWEENING!!!!! I know it isn't perfect, but I take pride in the fact that it's easy enough on the eyes to look at for an extended period of time!
I'm starting to become an adult now. I'm gaining control of many aspects of my life. It's kind of scary and I've been keeping busy..... but I want to bring this channel back to how it was in my golden days! Maybe I won't post every week, but I want to try posting more than once every 4 months. I think if I make time for what I love every day (which is doing exactly this!), I'll feel happier and more fulfilled. I sincerely hope this will be a successful change!

I'd like to put in a disclaimer about the translation! In essence, I rewrote my previous one from the Kaito cover of Plane Theory, but I noticed after translating that it sounds oddly similar to descentsubs' translation. I wanted to acknowledge them in the description because I don't intend to plagiarize! The sections with simple Japanese really..... cannot be translated in many other ways. I hope I'm being reasonable.

I hope everyone had a panic-attack-free April Fools and a happy Easter. All jokes aside though, I have to put a bug in your ear. My parents have recently expressed to me that they do hold authority over what I do, and they've also proven that they're completely capable of stomping out my Vocaloid hobby altogether. Regardless, this weird thing is what I've been calling "Jade's Synth Choir." Ever since I joined choir at the start of sophomore year, I've the sheet music to my favorite songs we sung into the Vocaloid Editor. This is their big YouTube debut!! This Japanese is pretty hard. I had a little help from another translation + looking up many, many, MANY vocab words.

Also, the end is kind of a groundbreaking thing. Miku now holds the record for Highest Note Sang™, notated as an E5 in the V4 Editor. On top of that, Fukase is the singer(?) of the very first synthesized metal scream I've ever published. Congratulations to both-- I feel so happy when I get to push their systems beyond their limits!

I'm back to studying Japanese, so I think my translation here is a little better- at least tense-wise. The funny thing is though, since I'm studying Japanese and French simultaneously, I always translate what I want to say into the language I DON'T want to.
For example, in French class, I'll think "wakarimasen" instead of "je ne sais pas." It's hilarious. I recommend you listen to me try to speak sometime.
My stutter in Japanese is worse than my stutter in English. Super funny stuff.

Anyways, back on the topic of Vocaloid, these are my favorite kinds of songs to make KAITO sing! I think he does best with the fresh, technoey s tuff

Oogh, the tempo changes in this one were SUPER hard to keep up with. They're terribly subtle too (226-227), so you can't even tell how much work I put into getting them right.
I hope it sounds okay. Mixing HIO has always been hard for me.
