Sony J-30SDI Betacam SP Test (Composite) | Dual Saw Slate (September 28, 2010) TVTA 2023-05-24 | Here is a test of my recently purchased Betacam SP unit, the Sony J-30SDI. This unit I have dates to January 2008. It can play Betacam, Betacam SP, Betacam SX, Digital Betacam, and MPEG IMX. Operating and drum hours totaled just under 4,500. This test contains color bars and a slate for an infomercial for the Dual Saw featuring Billy Mays and Anthony Sullivan.This is a test of composite video. This unit has an SDI output, but I do not have a way to transfer SDI video currently. I'm not sure how many captures via composite I'll upload, but there may be a few. SDI would produce *much* better video and audio. I plan on being able to transfer via SDI sometime this summer.

This update contains feeds I didn't include in the first compilation. Since there were so many, I made a second compilation instead of re-editing the first one.There were many more feeds, but I only included feeds with on-screen program schedules, on-screen information, or feeds with a different slate layout.
PBS HD04/HD05 Shutdown Notice (May 3, 2023) TVTA 2023-05-04 | On June 1, 2023, HD04 and HD05 will shut down, leaving HD03 as the last remaining NPS feed for distributing content. The ticker was added on May 3. It's also on HD04. Also on June 1, PBS will move all satellite feeds from AMC-21 (125W) to Galaxy 16 (99W).HD04 still fed a few showings of BBC World News programing and CPTV continues to uplink NHK World programming. HD05 still fed daily weekday showings of "Democracy Now!" and DW News content. WFSU also continues to uplink two programs on HD05, "Capitol Update" and "Florida Crossroads".

Visnews London Feed Event Compilation (April 22, 1982) TVTA 2023-04-23 | Here is a feed compilation from the former Visnews London satellite feed. Visnews shut down in 1993 after renaming itself as Reuters Television; a majority of their stock was acquired by Reuters in 1992 and 1993.Reuters' Live Service satellite feed still operates in a similar way. Each audio channel still is identified in a similar fashion, with two voiceovers saying simultaneously, "This is the primary/secondary audio circuit for the Reuters Live Service." Reuters also displays a slate before each event they show, whether it's a Live event or a Flash. PBS Schedule DT3A Recreation (2004?-2008) TVTA 2023-01-17 | Before PBS's transition to HD on December 21, 2008, they were only two HD feeds: DT2A and DT3A. DT2A was the national HD feed of PBS. DT3A was PBS's HD feed channel for HD programs. DT3A was like how HD03 was; DT3A fed programs in HD to PBS stations. All other SD programs were fed on Schedules 501-505 and 511-513. This feed shut down on December 21, 2008, and was replaced by the current HD02 (PBS West) feed.I have yet to find an actual feed from DT3A. I've only seen one picture of the feed, which was the source I used to recreate this.
Unknown PBS Satellite Feed (2006?) TVTA 2023-01-17 | Here's another oddity, but one I've never seen before. This feed just has clocks corresponding to all four major time zones next to a white PBS logo. I'm certain this is a Ku-band feed, but I have no idea what feed this is or what its purpose was.I'm not sure if 2006 is the correct date. Judging by the font used for the clocks (Arial), this may date between 2006-2009, since 2006 is the year PBS updated their 501-505 feeds to include both Eastern and Central time, in an Arial font, within their feeds.

PBS Satellite Service Recreations (1988-1996) TVTA 2022-12-25 | Now that I finally (after creating it myself) have the font used by the character generator PBS used at the time, the Quanta Microgen MG100, I decided to put it to good use. These are various recreations of real feeds from 1988-1996. This layout was also used in 1987; however, I've only found 2 feeds from 1987 and none have program information or a countdown, so I had to leave it out.
SMPTE Universal Leader (Foot) (1972) [4K] *Scanner Test* TVTA 2022-11-24 | *Apologies for the audio clipping; stabilization wasn't exactly perfect. Again, this is a test, so everything won't be perfect the first time.*From an LPP print of "Temperatures Rising," specifically the pilot episode. Audio extracted with AEO Light.This is the first test of the DIY film scanner I have been working on for the last two months. It is 99% complete. The remaining problem involves motor placement. It is slightly off-center, so because of this, the gears will sometimes get stuck. This problem causes the frames to drift upward or downward, which requires me to stabilize the frames by adjusting the X or Y position of each frame. Once that is fixed, stabilizing using DaVinci Resolve should suffice.I am very pleased with the result, though I am sure I can get better quality by adjusting the camera. I'll try to get a few more of these up; I've got one more left to upload.Transfers are near. Brace yourselves.

C-SPANs (Sorta) Final Analog Broadcast (October 31, 2021) TVTA 2021-11-07 | This was captured from the now former C-SPAN analog C-band feed from AMC 11 at 131W. C-SPAN had been broadcasting in analog feed since 1979, 42 years ago. The feed stayed up longer than the November 1st deadline, eventually shutting off on November 5th at around 10am ET, showing a test pattern until that point. This feed was the final full-time analog C-band feed in North America. However, there are a few sporadic analog C-band feeds from time to time. One example is a lottery feed on T23 on Galaxy 19 at 97W.This is not my capture. The person who sent this allowed me to upload it. They requested anonymity, but they know who they are, and I thank them for sending this to me! I had no luck tuning the analog feed here. This feed was received with a 1.2m satellite dish, hence the low quality. A dish with a diameter of at lest six feet would have received this signal much better. The background color was actually blue, but this may have been captured in B&W. This video has also been looped, with the original video being only ten seconds long.

This was during PBS's time on two satellites: Spacenet 4 and Telstar 401. PBS switched to Telstar 401 in February 1994, switching to Ku-band in the process. PBS retained one C-band transponder on Telstar 401 for their PBS-X feed.PBS Went from having four feeds on C-band and for the first few months on Ku-band (Schedules A, B, C, and D) to having eight feeds starting around August 1994 (Schedules 5A5, 5B0, 5B5, 5B6, 6, 7U, 7U and 8).These were not all of the feeds I found.
