Is Suicide Squad REALLY a Batman Arkhamverse Game? Knerd 2024-03-02 | Ever since the game dropped, Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League has faced a ton of backlash, especially due to it's supposed connection to the beloved Batman Arkham Series. With all of the inconsistencies between the Arkham games and Suicide Squad though, is the game REALLY canon to the Arkhamverse like Sefton Hill claimed? No, I don't believe it is._________________________________________________________________________I've never been a stickler over "canon" in media and I'm not someone who really cares all that much about retcons, minor continuity errors, or inconsistent dialogue lines that just don't match up. I completely understand why this happens in media and I honestly support retcons most of the time, especially when it comes to the Batman Arkham Series.This... is very different. Suicide Squad drastically changes the characters we knew and loved from the previous Arkham games. Most of the character arcs from prior titles seem to have straight up been ignored and replaced with new ones. People who were originally portrayed to be no threat whatsoever in this universe have now magically been turned into unstoppable forces capable of defeating anything and anyone in their path because of... ai and better tech? Some characters are even brought back from the dead with no explanation at all. Yeah, I'm not kidding, there's like three different examples of this.I mean the game simply makes no sense in the context of the Arkhamverse, hence, why I don't see it as canon personally. Comparing the Batman Arkham Series to Suicide Squad, I think the two just work so much better separate from each other.Suicide Squad's story and characters work so much better and are 1000x times easier to digest/enjoy when you think of it as a one and done universe where you can just turn your brain off and not even consider the story's broader implications or it's connection to a beloved series. On the other hand, if us Arkham fans just ignore it from canon then we don't have to worry about things like character assassinations, MAJOR plot holes, or just the whole pointlessness of multiversal chaos that the latest entry introduces, and can instead simply go in for some mindless enjoyment without any actual expectations. So why don't we all just headcanon them as separate if it makes all of the stories so much better to play through? That's what I'm doing anyways.Considering how bold they were planning on going with this game story-wise, I'm really not sure why WB and Rocksteady didn't go this route originally because the game would've definitely been so much better received at launch if it was something like an alternate universe, but at some point they're going to have to listen to what the fans want, right?_________________________________________________________________________Are you a fan of the Batman Arkhamverse? All Marvels Spider-Man 2 Bosses Ranked Worst to Best Knerd 2023-11-10 | Marvel's Spider-Man 2 had some amazing boss fights throughout the game, so today we're going through and ranking all of them from worst to best in Spiderman 2.________________________________________________________________________Insomniac made an absolutely amazing game in Spider-Man 2; the gameplay, the story, and the traversal were all done exceptionally well. One area that especially stood out to me however was the boss fights throughout the game. Both Spider-Men, Peter Parker and Miles Morales, take on some of their toughest villians yet in all out brawls.
