Dead or Alive time attack mode playthrough (PlayStation/PS1, 1CC)RQ87 EX Plus2026-09-28 | Dead or Alive time attack mode playthrough (PlayStation/PS1, 1CC)Halo: Combat Evolved The Maw glitch (Xbox, PAL version)RQ87 EX Plus2023-03-09 | This is a glitch that is possibly exclusive to the PAL version? Basically when you get to the elevator near the end of the level, there is a good chance it will move up and not take the Master Chief with it, and you can't progress any further. Very annoying glitch when you're trying to do a no death run of the level...Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 art gallery modeRQ87 EX Plus2022-11-27 | A look through the gallery mode of the Xbox version.Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 Xbox 360 backwards compatibility playthroughRQ87 EX Plus2022-11-26 | Playthrough of the original Xbox version on a Xbox 360 console. Yes, this is actually what it looks like. Yes, somebody at Microsoft thought this was good enough and approved it. I have read old forum posts about people being rightly upset at buying the Xbox version to play it on their 360, only to have it look and play like this.Super Street Fighter II X Revival playthrough (GBA)RQ87 EX Plus2022-06-24 | Playthrough with Dee Jay. I was originally going to use this on my main channel, but then I got the Wii U version of this game, so I used that instead.
This is the Japanese version of the game. It's got most of the problems the USA version has, but you can at least fight Gouki/Akuma without the game crashing.Mortal Kombat -secret Reptile boss fight (SEGA Genesis)RQ87 EX Plus2022-05-06 | This video shows the Reptile boss fight for the SEGA Genesis version of the game. It's difficult to fight Reptile, as you need to see objects passing the moon on the pit stage (which happens at random) and then get a double flawless victory and fatality on your opponent. But by using a cheat code to access a hidden menu, you can set it so the objects always appear. I set the stage to the warrior shrine, for some reason if I set it to the pit the objects never appeared.
Reptile is hard to take on. He can use Sub-Zero and Scorpion's moves, but the main issue is his speed -he's really fast! If you sit there spamming Rayden's torpedo, you can chip him out.Hokuto no Ken playthrough (Game Boy)RQ87 EX Plus2022-04-01 | Playthrough with Hyo. This is the Japanese version, which is practically the same as USA version other than having a different title screen. There is one more difference: when you beat Raoh, Raoh will stand in place and raise his arm, mimicking what he does during his final moments in the manga and anime. In the American version, this was changed so when he's beaten, he just collapses.Lylat Wars playthrough (Nintendo 64)RQ87 EX Plus2022-03-19 | Playthrough of the version released on the Wii virtual console. This is the PAL version, so it runs slower. But one bonus with the PAL version is that in addition to having the English voices, is has an extra "Lylat" voice option, which makes everyone speak as they did in the SNES game. I especially like the noise characters make when they scream.Star Fox 64 playthrough (Nintendo 64)RQ87 EX Plus2022-03-19 | Playthrough of the Japanese version of the game.SoR 4 combo master achievement/trophy with BlazeRQ87 EX Plus2021-07-10 | Character: Blaze Difficulty: Normal Stage: Old Pier
This achievement/trophy requires you to rack up a highly damaging combo. This method doesn't require any stars and isn't too difficult to do. You need to keep a combo going for a while though. The biggest dangers are the Ruby and Diamond enemies, they have homing jump kicks. Use Blaze's cartwheel special to hit them as they jump towards you.
Once you've battled your way past Ruby and Dimond, go crazy with Blaze's forward special -just keep using it as much as possible, as you'll start doing loads of damage. I could have ended the combo at around the one minute mark and still would have gotten the achievement.Ultra Street Fighter II Buddy Battle mode playthrough (Switch)RQ87 EX Plus2020-10-16 | Playthrough with Evil Ryu and Akuma. Buddy battle mode is basically the dramatic battle mode from the SF Alpha series, and is a series of 2 on 1 fights.Mortal Kombat -secret Reptile boss fight (Mega CD)RQ87 EX Plus2020-07-17 | This video shows the Reptile boss fight for the SEGA CD/Mega CD version of the game.
I also turned the blood off. Not only does this remove the blood, it also censors the fatalities, so instead of Sub-Zero ripped out the opponent's spine, he just does a super uppercut on them instead.
Reptile is hard to take on. He can use Sub-Zero and Scorpion's moves, but the main issue is his speed -he's really fast! Jump kicks are the best way to take him down.Star Fox Great Commander boss glitchRQ87 EX Plus2020-06-19 | This is from the Japanese version of the game, I think it might have been fixed in the USA version. If you swap camera angles to the in-cockpit view just as the boss fles off, it soft-locks the game. The crosshair vanishes and you can't fire. In the USA version, you can't switch to the in-cockpit view for this boss (I tested the SNES Classic version -maybe it's still there in the original USA version?)Tekken 3 Tekken Force mode playthrough (Playstation)RQ87 EX Plus2019-12-28 | Playthrough of the Tekken Force mode with True Ogre. Tekken Force is a bonus game mode available in the Playstation port of Tekken 3. It's Tekken's take on Final Fight or Streets of Rage, only there's one big problem: IT SUCKS. It's incredibly clunky with the main issue being how fighting enemies works. Your character will try to lock on to an opponent, but fighting two enemies at once leads to a lot of confusion, as your character will often randomly switch the enemy they want to look at. You can't move easily either, which can make collecting the chickens really frustrating. It was a nice idea I guess but it just doesn't work very well here.
However the majority of people who've owned this game have no doubt slogged through it as it's the easiest way to unlock Dr. Bosconovitch. You need to beat it three times first to collect three keys, the beat it again and the good Doc will fight you after Heihachi. Beat him to "rescue" him as the game puts it, and he'll be unlocked. This is far less time consuming than the other method, which is to pick a character 700 times in total.Street Fighter Alpha 3 dramatic battle playthrough (PS2)RQ87 EX Plus2019-10-19 | Playthrough of the dramatic battle mode, I'm playing as Ken, CPU is playing as Ryu. There is a small amount of video glitching during the fight against Vega. This version of the game is included on Street Fighter Alpha Anthology.Street Fighter Alpha 2 Gold dramatic battle playthrough (PS2)RQ87 EX Plus2019-10-12 | Playthrough of the dramatic battle mode, I'm playing as Evil Ryu, CPU is Shin Akuma. This version of the game is included on Street Fighter Alpha Anthology. Again, like with vanilla Alpha 2, this mode gives you infinite super combo gauge.Street Fighter Alpha 2 dramatic battle playthrough (PS2)RQ87 EX Plus2019-10-12 | Playthrough of the dramatic battle mode, I'm playing as Ken, CPU is Ryu. This version of the game is included on Street Fighter Alpha Anthology. The Alpha 2 dramatic battle mode is great as you get infinite super gauge!Street Fighter Alpha dramatic battle playthrough (PS2)RQ87 EX Plus2019-10-05 | Playthrough of the dramatic battle mode, which was something new added to this version of the game. I'm playing as Ken, CPU is Akuma. The original game did have a dramatic battle of sorts, but you could only play Ryu & Ken Vs. Bison. The PS2 version lets you pick any character, and there are more fights.Garou MotW survival mode playthrough (PS4)RQ87 EX Plus2019-07-20 | Playthrough of the survival mode with Kim Jae Hoon. Beating this mode will unlock the "Yup...It's no bull... It's all about heart!" trophy.Annet Futatabi playthrough (Mega CD) (English subs)RQ87 EX Plus2018-09-05 | Turn captions on for English subtitles. Thanks to shmuplations for accepting my commission request of getting this game translated: http://shmuplations.com patreon.com/shmuplations
Annet Futatabi was released in 1993, exclusively for the Mega CD. It's the final game in the Earnest Evans trilogy, and unlike the other games in the series, this one is a scrolling beat 'em up. A particularily bad scrolling beat 'em up, with its only redeeming features being the music and cutscenes. For more information about this game, visit my site about it: http://rq87.flyingomelette.com/RQ/A&E/AF/1.html
I did a glitch at 13:00. Throwing those smaller robot enemies into broken objects can cause a bug where you'll get lots of points instantly, you can sometimes get several million in a few seconds.El Viento Enhancement Hack playthrough (Mega Drive)RQ87 EX Plus2018-09-04 | This is a playthrough of M.I.J.E.T.'s hack of El Viento, played on the Kega Fusion emulator. Go to his site for more info: http://mijet.eludevisibility.org
The main differences are that the script has been re-written, with added lines of dialogue that were cut from the American version, and the test level can be accessed with a cheat code (I do a playthrough of the test level first). The ending has been changed as now only one music track plays during it.Earnest Evans playthrough (Mega CD) (English subs)RQ87 EX Plus2018-09-03 | Playthrough of what's chronologically the first game in the series. Turn captions on for English subs during the cutscenes. A massive thanks to shmuplations for accepting my commission request for getting this game translated: http://shmuplations.com patreon.com/shmuplations
So, this game. There's plenty more information about it at my site: http://rq87.flyingomelette.com/RQ/A&E/EE/1.html But for a quicky summary this game was released twice. The first version was for the Mega CD, which is the version that features cutscenes, and is what I'm doing a playthrough of for this video. The other version was released for the Genesis, which is mostly the same game other than the cutscenes being removed.
A few notes about the levels:
Level 1 lets you skip around half of it if you take the shortcut I used at 1:30. Also I've never had one of those porcupines enemies enter the boss room before. It glitches out once the boss appears.
At 11:03, Zigfried is seen leaving with the Necronomicon. Yet suddenly at 12:44 Earnest has it. My theory is there was a level between these two parts of the cutscene which was scrapped.
The start of level 5, seen at 13:16, has a massive shortcut which you can get if you just hold left when the level starts. This way you'll land ontop of the train, which saves a lot of time. It's a harder route though since there are two enemies with guns, and their bullets do a lot of damage.
Just before level 6 starts, the cutscene shows Earnest and friends in jail for some reason. How or why they got there is unknown. Anyway, when level 6 does start, I show a secret that went undisovered for over 20 years since the game came out. If you crouch and whip the wall on the left a few times and then wait, a small white car will appear. You can collect this car to receive some bonus points.
Level 10 has a glitch in it where you can beat it by going up instead of down. I tried to do this at 28:12 but the bad controls prevented me from doing so. So I had to beat this level the normal way, which went really well given it's seen as one of the hardest levels to beat without using a continue.
This was played using the KEGA Fusion emulator. This game is a real pain to get working with Gens -most versions seem to refuse to play this game at all, or the couple of versions I used that did work crash either during one of the later cutscenes, or during the ending.El Viento: Hidden test levelRQ87 EX Plus2018-08-29 | This is a playthrough of the hidden test level. The test level is full of traps and hazards, and is the most difficult level in the game. You can access it in the Japanese version of the game if you have a Game Genie -use code AB9A-AAH6 and then start the game. This code doesn't seem to work in the American version, I just got a red screen of death when I tried it.
Thanks to TCRF for the Game Genie code: http://tcrf.net/The_Cutting_Room_FloorEl Viento playthrough (Mega Drive)RQ87 EX Plus2018-08-28 | Playthrough of the Japanese version of the game. The most notable differences are that Al Capone (who was re-named Vincente DeMarco in the American version) can be seen smoking in the cutscenes. Vist my site about this series here: http://rq87.flyingomelette.com/RQ/A&E/1.htmlEarnest Evans prototype playthrough (SEGA Genesis)RQ87 EX Plus2018-08-27 | This prototype was dumped by drx in May 2016. I've wrote up a page showing all the differences here: http://rq87.flyingomelette.com/RQ/A&E/EE/proto.html
But basically much of the game is the same as the final version levels wise. The intro in this prototype is different and much longer to what the final version features, and there's also a brief ending scene which was cut from the final version.Annet Futatabi score glitchRQ87 EX Plus2018-08-07 | http://rq87.flyingomelette.com/RQ/A&E/AF/1.html
The easiest place to do this is in level 3. There a section where the screen will stop scrolling and there's a breakable statue in the bottom right corner. I'm still not 100% certain how to pull this off consistently, but it appears what causes this is the little robot enemies who have flamethrowers. Move to the right of the statue and then lure a robot toward you. Quickly grab it and then throw it at the statue. What appears to happen is that the robot will hit the statue, but this will cause any enemies near the statue to also be sent flying due go a bug. Your score will for some reason increase to ridiculous levels, you can sometimes get several million in an instant. The score will reset back to nothing if you go over 10 million.
The only other level I've managed to do this glitch in is level 7. It appears that the little robots are the only enemies you can do this with, none of the other enemies work.Street Fighter Zero 2 illustrations mode (SEGA Saturn)RQ87 EX Plus2018-07-21 | The illustrations mode is a mode exclusive to the SEGA Saturn version of the game, featuring 100 pieces of art. It also features a very relaxing piece of music.Metal Slug art gallery (NGCD)RQ87 EX Plus2018-05-26 | A look through the art gallery that's featured in the Neo Geo CD version of Metal Slug. This port was released as a stand-alone game in Japan (which is the version I have) but for the American and European markets, it was released as part of SEGA AGES Vol. 1, which also includes Space Harrier and OutRun.Hyper Street Fighter IIs A.I. sucks #4RQ87 EX Plus2017-11-26 | ...Hyper Street Fighter IIs A.I. sucks #3RQ87 EX Plus2017-11-26 | NO NOT THE HEADBITEHyper Street Fighter IIs A.I. sucks #2RQ87 EX Plus2017-11-26 | That's 90% welcome to Jamaica monHyper Street Fighter IIs A.I. sucks #1RQ87 EX Plus2017-11-25 | That's not how your flash kicks work GuileHyper Street Fighter II Xbox 360 backwards compatibility playthroughRQ87 EX Plus2017-11-25 | Playthrough of the Xbox version of Hyper Street Fighter II, played on an Xbox 360 console. This features the same stuff that was present in the Neo Geo CD's art gallery, but with one difference -the art featured in the illustrations is in color for this version, it wasn't in the Neo Geo CD version. It includes three separate categories:
The unused arts show a lot of concept drawings for characters who never made it into a KoF game. I doubt these guys ever had much of a chance of getting into KoF '98 as the game doesn't feature any new characters and instead brought back old ones like Mature, Vice and the USA Sports team.KoF 97 private mode (Playstation)RQ87 EX Plus2017-08-11 | The private mode for Playstation KoF '97 contains two art galleries and a trailer for The King of Fighters: Kyo. The first art gallery is also featured in the Neo Geo CD and SEGA Saturn versions, but the second art gallery and the KoF Kyo trailer are extras exclusive to the PS1 version of the game.
The second art gallery unfortunately has this annoying problem where whenever you go to the next picture, the music track restarts.KoF 96 extra mode (Playstation)RQ87 EX Plus2017-08-04 | Located in the options menu of the Playstation port of KoF '95 is the extra mode, which includes a sound test and then "private". I only play a couple of the music tracks, just search Youtube for the arranged soundtrack if you want to hear more.
