Franky D. CrafterThis week I decide to challenge a legendary crafter to a craft off. Wyloch’s Armory joins me to craft a dieselpunk Skytrain. I got three of these at the dollar tree store and I was instantly inspired to make them into what they were always meant to be. Horror creatures from another dimension.

There are two huge issues with the way transportation is handled when it comes to fantasy games. The first is making wagons out of something that can easily be destroyed by any type of flying creature. I mean look at this, cloth, cloth!! Their tripping. If I was in Skyrim or a place similar to that you could not pay me enough to travel in that.
The other issue is pulling those carts with what has to be dragon bate. If you’re goal was to catch these hands and fire than you have succeeded but also failed at being alive anymore. Luckily for you I have fixed both of these problems. One I’ll admit in a very lazy way.

Molds are something I’ve been extremely afraid of since I started the hobby. I pretty much risk making a mistake that will cost me. This stuff is not cheap. But it’s very rewarding because once you make a successful mold, you can pretty much print an army without the need of 3D printer.

Hi, I’m Franky, and today I’m making some awesome sewer tiles.
I wanted to make these tiles stand out from any of my other tiles. The sewage wasn’t going to be enough of a difference. I dedicated a lot time painting these just right. All while still experimenting with resin. One of those materials I’ve been too scared to work with.
Talking about the resin, I ran into a few problems I still have to figure out. Problems I failed to mention in the last episode. Alright, let’s get into this.
Welcome back gang, let me tell you something about how I dm. When I build dungeon, I actually stray away from doing long halls unless they make sense. When you look at buildings, you notice that things tend to be split by rooms, not halls. Players still like that sense of cloister phobia, so how do we compromise. Easy, make your dungeons stand out from each other. Capitalize on what kind of dungeon is best for what type of game play. It’s nice to have one set of tiles that you use for everything, I get i. But at the same time, if you are playing a lot with the same group, I think it’s best to spice things up with different dungeon styles. Long Galway’s don’t make sense for buildings but they make perfect sense for something like the sewers.
Sewer tiles is that project I’ve put off for too long and honestly I think it was such a missed opportunity. Specially because its one of those projects you can basically offer players to explore in just about any town settjng. Stay till the end for some extra builds we’ll knock off while we are here in the seeers. So let me show you how I made mine.I Made A Sewer Dungeon To Piss Off My D&D PlayersFranky D. Crafter2022-02-03 | I was talking to my good friend from scratch bashing about what we should make this year. He ended up building this amazing orkmek. And I have always wanted to do a series where I make pieces of a forgotten era where magic may have not been the main source of progression and instead it was robotic technology. So I will end up using this as an excuse to start, I think these will also go great with another project I recently made. How I Created an Epic Floating Island Diorama ... That is also a shelfFranky D. Crafter2022-01-27 | Today I’m going to tell you about that time i made floating islands.
I Haven't really talked about this in the channel but some of my patreons know I’m part of a gallery for a year where i display my art work. Im part of four resident artist for the space. all the resident artist get a section where we display our work. most of the artist are two d artist so displaying their art work was something simple. me on the other hand, well that was a bit more tricky. i came up with what i thought would be a cool idea. i would build these floating islands where i cold display my terrain. I had to run it by the art director and he said “that sounds great” now the only issue was that i only had five days to build it because that’s when we were going to open.
Art has always been a huge part of my life. It truly saved my life. Specially coming from nothing i felt like no matter my situation i always had my art. And hopefully some day my art would give me much more. so this was a big deal to me. This was my chance to prove myself to show people this wasn’t just a hobby.Turning a Dollar Store Toy Into Glutton Demons!Franky D. Crafter2022-01-21 | I was looking though my box of stuff I’ve collected over the years and figured I would makes bits from them. And while cutting these dollar store lizards I realized the bodies would make for some awesome monsters. Toy conversion time.
First step was to make this look more like a mouth.
I’m using modeling apoxy for this, and to be honest, after this project I think I’ll be using this for most of my conversions. This thing dries like a rock. If you have kept up with my clay relationships here on the channel you will noticed that I pretty much worked with everything. I tend to mix sculpting material depending on what’s best for the situation. So far my favorites have to be apoxy.
At this time this was my first time working with this type of apoxy and I could already tell I was going to love this. The detail I’m able to add to this is next level. To make it easier on myself I decided to try it out on a small project like this where I’m using the apoxy more as an add on to an already existing object versus me starting something from scratch.Big Epic Golem Miniature Craft, Magical Construct!Franky D. Crafter2021-08-27 | Welcome to another episode of Franky D. crafter. Today, I really wanted to continue my catacombs dungeon, but I didn’t want to spend a lot of time or Money on skulls. So I started plotting and this is what I came up with.
For this project I want a pool of skulls, but i don’t want to use up my whole inventory for it. I want to have a detail I could easily clone. Something that makes it look like I put in more time than I actually did. so lets start by making a stamp of sorts. i’m not reinventing the wheel here. I’m going for something simple. something I can get a lot of milage from.

Welcome to another episode of Franky D. Crafter. I’ll be tackling a project I’ve been meaning to craft since I started the channel. I figured that this was one of those projects I would take upon once I felt that I had the right skills to properly handle it. I feel like it’s time now. Im a huge fan of The Planet of the Apes franchise. Old and new. And just like everything else I’m a fan of. I always try to bring those things into my dnd games. This week I’ll be making a planet of the apes strong hold. One straight from the movie but with a dnd/Franky D.Crafter twist.

Crafter2020-04-17 | Welcome to another Franky D. Crafter episode. I ran a poll on patreon to decide what my next Dino mod would be. I drew up three concepts using three different dinosaurs toys I had. All with different themes. I didn’t know my supporters missed the bars this much. We are making a kegasaurous on this episode. You can also think of this episode as how to craft miniature whiskey barrels or beer barrels. If you want to get more involved on the direction of the channel you should consider becoming a patreon. If that’s not your thing a simple like or subscription would also go a long way. Without further delay, let’s get started.
I figured I want to make sure it fits the mood of the setting I place this creature in. I knew it to be something you encountered in a forest. Almost like an outdoor tavern. I kept asking myself why would this need to be transported in this manner. I started talking to some of my patrons and realized this whole concept demanded a complete back story. In what world would this concept make sense? And this is why I love dnd.
I had a blast modifying this dinosaur. I feel like the concept was a good combination of something fun and something practical. I also like how I can just put chest on top of kegasaurus. The other great thing that came out of this is that while thinking of a story, I ended up crafting a campfire and a trunk bar top. Plus now I have a good idea for a game I want to run with my players next time I see my friends.

The versatility of this project is incredible and I feel like this will be one of my most used projects for outdoor encounters. I wanted to elevate my game. I wanted a piece that was an obstacle, but at the same time an advantageous location where my players could hold their ground. I wanted a playable elevated platform that would also look really nice as a display. I knew that the top of this hill had to be special, that’s why I made sure to leave it blank. Allowing me to change the purpose of the top depending on what the game called for during that session.
