After years of research and constant growth, we developed our most advanced solution for ceramic 3D printing yet: a new system that combines the power of customization given by additive manufacturing and the concept of seriality, introducing an unprecedented kind of production.
The Production system is composed of the 3D printer WASP 40100 Clay and its two proprietary solutions: The Continuous Feeding System (CFS) and the conveyor belt.
The CFS is an internationally patented system that allows you to constantly add new material to the printer, overcoming the limited capacity of the tank while mechanically degassing the material without a vacuum pump. The conveyor belt makes it possible to let the printer work overnight, creating an automated process for 24/7 production.
Thanks to our upcoming new slicing and parametric 3D modelling software, It will be possible to queue different gcodes in the same file, creating a variety of unique pieces with ease, including different sets of vases, tiles, facades, and design objects.
Stay tuned as we unveil more about the technology and we prepare for the launch of the new web app!

Continuous Feeding System is a new system for the ceramic industry
The Continuous Feeding System responds to the needs of the additive market in the ceramic sector in the production sector by replacing the 5l aluminum tank with a pump to print without ever running out of material.
With continuous feed, not only are the tank and compressor no longer needed, but you can also handle harder materials and print faster with consistent material flows.
By pairing state-of-the-art design processes with additive manufacturing, Drag and Drop is creating distinctive designs with sustainability, beauty and quality in mind.

Urban Reef is a startup that researches, develops and designs situations and interactions for a more-than-human urban environment. The mission: terraforming world's metropoles 🌍
Following this principle, Urban Reef is developing "Reefs" which are designed to be open to a wide range of forms of life. These prototypes are created using algorithms and are 3D printed with "living" materials using Delta WASP 40100 Clay combined with the Continuous Feeding System. They can absorb water and provide a range of microclimates and nutrients, giving more organisms the opportunity to thrive in the city 🏙

Stefano Boeri on Unknown Unknowns. An Introduction to Mysteries

Following the values of reuse and sustainability, the staging for the thematic exhibition - designed by Space Caviar and created by WASP - is wholly created by 3D printing.
For this project WASP used the architectural 3D printer Crane WASP, a collaborative 3D printing system.
For the needs of this specific setup, WASP transported and assembled Crane WASP within the museum and mixed the material near the printer on the first floor of the Triennale.

Following the values of reuse and sustainability, the staging for the thematic exhibition - designed by Space Caviar and created by WASP - is wholly created by 3D printing.
It was produced in the spaces of Triennale by large printers on an architectural scale, using only organic materials, largely deriving from the food industry.
For the first time ever the exhibition design is completely produced inside the museum itself, printing 32 different pieces in only 10 days.

IAAC develops technological and architectural solutions in collaboration with industry partners to answer the current needs and challenges of our habitat. WASP, born in 2012, aims to respond to human needs with 3D printing. The house built at KM0, using natural materials from the surrounding area is a dream realized in 2018 with GAIA, then in 2020 with TECLA, and, today, with two concept stores built on the Dubai beach for Dior.
The first 3D printed earth wall with embedded staircase was designed by IAAC and built using Crane WASP technology in 2019 at the end of the 3D Printing Architecture (3dPA). The desire to develop a new approach to architecture more in harmony with nature promotes exchange in different research areas which include the use of the CRANE WASP 3D printer, robotic manufacturing with new LDM WASP Extruder XXL, research on materials, and performance-based design.
Today new developments that are based on mutual experiences, are born, they allow 3D printing Architecture students to take advantage of the integration of IAAC’s ongoing knowledge and investigation with the latest WASP technologies.
This collaboration is a brilliant example of the WASP’s opening to Universities and Research Centers around the world to print together with the ways of the future.
