Theme Park Nomads 2025-07-31 | The Rock 'n' Roller Coaster (in full Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith) is an indoor launch roller coaster in the American theme park Disney's Hollywood Studios and could also be found in the French Walt Disney Studios Park until 2019. The attraction was designed by Walt Disney Imagineering and built by the Dutch company Vekoma. 2019 can also be found in the French Walt Disney Studios Park. The attraction is all about rock and roll. Everything in the queue revolves around this theme. There are various posters of rock bands, music attributes can be found and rock music can be heard in the background. In the queue there is a preshow showing a music studio in which the band Aerosmith can be seen.

The ride takes place in a roller coaster train whose vehicles are designed as limousine. Before the train is launched, there is a countdown aloud. This is accompanied by sound and light effects. The ride takes place completely in the dark. However, there are decorations along the track that light up when a train passes. The decorations during the ride are references to the American borough of Hollywood.

There are 120 speakers per train of the Rock 'n' Roller Coaster that play music during the ride. Walt Disney Imagineering, in collaboration with Aerosmith, has composed a separate soundtrack for each train from pre-existing music by Aerosmith. Minor adjustments have also been made in some songs, for example Love in an Elevator has been changed to Love in a Rollercoaster. In the Paris version, each train also has a separate light show. The soundtracks of each train with accompanying light show (Paris) and number plate (Orlando) are:

UGOBABE: Love in an Elevator and Walk This Way , multicolored light show.
BUHBYE: Young Lust, F.I.N.E. and Love in an Elevator, mainly pink light show.

2FAST4U: Sweet Emotion, mainly blue light show.

Both rollercoasters have a different storyline. In Florida, board a Super Stretch Limo to be in time for an Aerosmith concert; in Paris you board a Soundtracker to end up in the Zone d'essais (Dutch: test zone) of a video clip. Although the roller coaster has five trains, a maximum of four are used at the same time. The roller coaster is powered by linear induction motors, made by the German company Intrasys.

In France's Walt Disney Studios Park, the attraction was called Rock 'n' Roller Coaster avec Aerosmith and opened March 16, 2002 in the Backlot theme area. The ride experience was almost identical to that of the version at Disney's Hollywood Studios. The entrance and exterior of the attraction were characterized by a shed that closely resembles a film studio. The facade consisted of a large billboard depicting a guitar, roller coaster rails and the name of the attraction. Two large CD discs hung on a rack next to the building.

In 2019, it was announced that the roller coaster will be closed for good and replaced by Avengers Assemble: Flight Force. On Sunday evening, September 1, 2019, the roller coaster will make its last ride, after which it was definitively closed to visitors.

Theme Park Nomads 2025-07-13 | Storm Chaser is a steel spinning roller coaster located at Paultons Park in Hampshire, England. The coaster debuted alongside the new £12 million Tornado Springs area of the park on 12 April, 2021. Storm Chaser and Tornado Springs were initially intended to debut for the 2020 season, but were postponed to 2021 due to the then-emerging COVID-19 pandemic.

Speculation for a new park area – following the widely successful Peppa Pig World and Lost Kingdom investments – was fueled by various developments that took place during the latter half of 2018. Between July and September 2018, Paulton's Park filed multiple trademarks with the IPO for the following names; ROUTE 83, STORM CHASER, and AL'S AUTO ACADEMY. During the fall, the park relocated various animal enclosures to other parts of the property, clearing a sizable construction site. In November, a Twitter account representing the tourism bureau of the fictional town Tornado Springs was created and immediately connected to the park's future developments. By this point, it had become apparent that Paultons Park was working on their next major project.

Paultons Park launched an extensive social media campaign marketing the new project, creating multiple Twitter accounts and even an official website for the town of Tornado Springs, which began to distribute artwork and teaser posters throughout much of 2020. During a March 2019 interview with InterPark Magazine, park owner Richard Mancey stated that a new themed area was due to open in 2020, with 5 new attractions intended for children, as well as a "world class" roller coaster. Using artwork teased during the promotional campaign and roller coaster footers beginning to take shape on the construction site, roller coaster enthusiasts eventually determined that this would likely be a spinning coaster from German manufacturer Mack Rides. In May 2019, Danish creative firm MK Themed Attractions confirmed that they had been contracted to handle the Tornado Springs' theming elements.

Tornado Springs was formally announced and unveiled in full on 4 July 2019. It would cover 4 acres (1.6 hectares), include multiple family and thrill rides, and feature a headlining attraction in the form of Storm Chaser, the rumored Mack Rides spinning coaster. Vertical construction of Storm Chaser began in late September, and its final track piece was placed and the coaster topped off on 17 October 2019. Theming and props were installed throughout the fall and winter, and an opening timeframe was set for May 2020.

However, in April 2020, the emerging COVID-19 pandemic forced the park to postpone the opening of Tornado Springs to Easter 2021.[16] Paultons' representatives expressed their disappointment of the delay, but assured that the new area and its rides would be opened the following year. Thus, the area stayed closed when the park was eventually safely reopened, although the site didn't remain dormant. Storm Chaser's first train arrived in March 2020, and testing of the ride first began on 16 July 2020.

On 23 September 2020 Paultons officially announced an opening date of 19 March 2021 for Storm Chaser and Tornado Springs. However, during the fall/winter of 2020–2021, the United Kingdom re-entered a national lockdown in response to a surge in COVID-19 cases. The second lockdown once again renewed uncertainty over the planned opening date. On 22 February 2021 Prime Minister Boris Johnson presented a four-step plan to ease restrictions, which would allow theme parks to reopen no later than 12 April. As the park's reopening schedule became further solid, the opening date was shifted to 12 April 2021, where it remained. The first on-ride point-of-view of Storm Chaser was released on 8 April 2021. As intended, Storm Chaser opened alongside Tornado Springs on 12 April 2021.

Theme Park Nomads 2025-07-11 | This is one very angry dragon and you’re in for a roller coaster ride through dizzying twists and turns, dips and dives and all the while your car is spinning and spinning. However many times you ride, it’s always different, depending on who sits where.

The ride has a Gothic theme and was originally very detailed, with a queue-line through castle gates, a fog-filled underpass beneath the coaster track, a graveyard canopy with Gothic tombs and dark passageway into the station. The station was dressed as a castle ballroom with flaming chandeliers, Gothic murals and a large pipe organ stage piece, with dramatic lighting and audio.[3] However most of this has since been removed. The famous theme music in the station was composed by Graham Smart in the style of an organ overture with a Gothic rock sound, alluding to Phantom of the Opera.[4]

The station features an animatronic organist playing at a large pipe organ (Named "Marcel").[citation needed] The character originally moved in time to the soundtrack, appearing to play to the music. In 2015, the graveyard canopy was demolished following years of little maintenance. The grand station chandeliers were also removed. Now, very little of the themed queue and station exists the way it was intended, with much of the scenery, sound and lighting design lost.

The original black, bat-themed trains were built by Arrow Dynamics and were the same style as the trains found on other Arrow Dynamics Suspended Coasters.

Towards the end of the ride, the coaster takes a sudden drop into a tunnel, before entering into the brake run. The tunnel was originally longer, darker and themed as a cave, however this theming has been removed to make room for larger, floorless trains provided by Vekoma.

In 1998, the ride was partly refurbished with new branding.

Theme Park Nomads 2025-07-05 | Rage is a steel roller coaster situated at Adventure Island in Southend-on-Sea, Essex, England. Rage is a Gerstlauer Euro-Fighter model roller coaster (the 6th overall to be built). At 97 degrees, it is steeper-than-vertical and tied for the third steepest roller coaster in the United Kingdom. it is also tied six ways between itself, Fahrenheit, Speed: No Limits, SpongeBob SquarePants Rock Bottom Plunge, Typhoon, and Vild-Svinet.

Designed by Werner Stengel, the coaster opened on 10 February 2007. When it was built, the coaster became the tallest structure in the park and one of the tallest structures in the nearby area. Riders on the coaster are offered expansive views of the nearby North Sea from the Southend-on-Sea beach. The coaster has a total of three inversions: a vertical loop, a cutback and a heartline roll. The coaster also has a helix near the end of the ride.[4] As with other Euro-Fighter model coasters, the coaster has trains that consist of individual cars. Riders in these cars are in two rows of four, for a total of 8 riders. The base of the coaster is 197 feet (60 m) by 125 feet (38 m). The coaster layout for Rage is particularly close to two other Euro-Fighter (model 320+) roller coasters: Falcon at Duinrell amusement park and Untamed at Canobie Lake Park.

Theme Park Nomads 2025-06-29 | Wiener Looping is a steel roller coaster at Wurstelprater (located within Wiener Prater) in Leopoldstadt, Vienna, Austria. Built by Mack Rides, the coaster will span multiple sections of the amusement park and be one of its few attractions operated by owner Stefan Sittler-Koidl.

Wiener Looping was first announced in 2021 but was marred by several construction setbacks, most notably the unauthorized demolition of a nightclub and its associated legal injunction. The coaster opened on May 23 2025.

Departing the station, riders will make a left hand turn into the lift hill, ascending overtop a guest pathway to a peak height of 101.7 feet (31.0 m) at a speed of 4 m/s (13 ft/s). At the top, the train makes a slow 180° turn to the left before descending a 92° drop. An airtime hill carries the train back over the pathway before plummeting into a trench and two successive inversions; a Banana Roll and elongated vertical loop, offering a brief stall while upside down. The car follows up into a sharply ascending right turn only to exit into a dive loop/drop. Riders navigate a counterclockwise helix and airtime hill before making a final turnaround to the lift in the brake run.

Onride: Siren’s curse 🎢 4K/POV 2025 - Cedar point

Theme Park Nomads 2025-06-26 | Siren's Curse is a steel roller coaster at Cedar Point amusement park in Sandusky, Ohio. The Tilt Coaster model, manufactured by Vekoma, is planned to open to the public on June 28th, 2025. The ride will have a length of 2,966 feet (904 m) with a maximum height of 160 feet (49 m), a 90-degree drop, and two inversions, making it North America’s tallest, longest and fastest Tilt Coaster. The ride will be Cedar Point's third roller coaster installation in as many years, after Wild Mouse (2023) and Top Thrill 2 (2024).

Siren's Curse's theme is tied to the park's presence on Lake Erie, making reference to Greek mythology, where "sirens" were female beings who sent sailors to their demise via songs. The ride's trains will feature an integrated audio and lighting system to tie into the theme.

The Odyssey (formerly Jubilee Odyssey) is a roller coaster at Fantasy Island in Ingoldmells, England. Built by Vekoma of the Netherlands in 2002, it was named to commemorate the Golden Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II. It is Vekoma's tallest example of their Suspended Looping Coaster (SLC) design in the world. Standing at 167 feet (51 m), it is the fourth tallest roller coaster in the UK, after Hyperia (236 feet) the Big One (213 feet) and Stealth (205 feet).

It is tied for the second tallest full circuit inverted roller coaster in the world (alongside Banshee at Kings Island). It has a top speed of 63 mph and can exert forces up to 4.8 g's.

Original plans for the ride showed an SLC ride 265 feet (81 m) in height, which would have made it the tallest inverted roller coaster in the world and seventh tallest overall. The plans were scrapped due to complaints from local residents, limiting the height to a maximum of 180 feet (55 m)

In the year of Elizabeth II's Golden Jubilee, 2002, it was opened and ridden by Prince Edward, Duke of Kent.

It was initially sponsored by the chocolate bar Kit Kat, but this association has now ceased.

Stardust Racers is a steel dual launched roller coaster at Universal Epic Universe in Orlando, Florida. Universal Orlando first announced the new park in August 2019 before officially unveiling Stardust Racers and its associated Celestial Park central district in January 2024.

Stardust Racers was manufactured by Mack Rides and includes two 5,000-foot (1,500 m) pairs of track, collectively making it one of the largest steel coasters in the United States.

Universal Epic Universe was first announced on August 1, 2019, as a new third-gate theme park that would double Universal Orlando's footprint. No attractions or details were divulged at the time, although a large dueling coaster was predominantly visible in concept artwork. German roller coaster manufacturer Mack Rides subsequently patented a new ride inversion design in the fall, where twin tracks twisted over each other while rising and falling from a peak. This would later become widely referred to as the Celestial Spin.

Epic Universe was originally scheduled to open in 2023, but parent company Comcast announced in April 2020 that construction would be delayed as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Europa Park owner Roland Mack announced in September that Universal had cancelled his company's order for "the largest roller coaster in the world", which was valued at well over 20 million euros and wouldn't be delivered in the foreseeable future.
