(this is definitely me studying for ochem and not goofing off)anyone taking ochem will notice that the front-facing frames are not proper Newman Projections and that's because the circle would look jarring in the animation so I just represented the back carbon's bonds with dashed lines which is a confusing choice given that dashed lines are supposed to represent bonds going into the plane. but here they're representing planar bonds that are just further away from the viewer. in other words the notation in this video is not consistent or accurate. the point of this video was to rotato butane in my mind and not create a scientific model.

It was pretty much my first attempt at digital painting a human, which is why it's a bit rough around the edges, and why I used a bunch of different brushes and techniques with no consistency. some kakyoin colors iyote 2020-10-01 | it's Kakyoin from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, in a few palettes. (I keep forgetting to do speedpaints...) jojo's bizarre adventure is the only piece of media I know that intentionally has no (or at least very few) canon colors. no dovewing eye color debates here, folks. all of these palettes are equally non-canon and I love it. the way Hirohiko Araki uses color is something I find fascinating and inspiring. essentially, Araki uses color to accentuate emotion and fit scenes - he draws everything as whatever color he feels it needs to be at any given time. thus, the colors of each character change constantly. “Canon color” isn’t really a relevant concept. jojo's has not only single-handedly taught me how to draw humans, it has also expanded my horizons in terms of how to use color in my art. Also Kakyoin is a great character, and extremely fun to draw as well. I think this description could be summarized if I just stopped after "jojo's bizarre adventure is the only piece of media I know"(kidding, of course, i'm working on my survivors and oc projects toooo)

Council foxes speedpaint iyote 2020-08-05 | ▶ I was kind of indecisive for naming three of these OCs, so I could use some input. Nevermind, I figured out their namesAnyway, these are (mostly) minor ocs from a story that I've made some videos on before. The main characters in this story are called Jaide and Heron; they're not in this speedpaint - and in fact, these foxes and Jaide don't personally know each other. See, I wanted to flesh out the world, so a few days back, on a flash of inspiration, I wrote about 3000 words re-drafting the backstory. It called for a bunch of side characters, so I figured I'd design them all here, in a speedpaint. (Of course, I'd already planned out the basics of each design in my head and chosen some colors.) The most important fox of this set is the large one in the center facing right. As a placeholder name, I've been calling them [clever fox]. They're a writer, and genderfluid. The one next to them was placeholder-named [rebel fox] and is now named Mahogany. He's not much more important than the rest, it's just that he's my favorite. The pair in the top right corner is Seervin & Skey, whom I've drawn before. They're the worst, but way more important than the other foxes of the council, so I had to note their existence. Also I love them despite the fact that they are the worst. They're even more evil now that I re-wrote the backstory, really. It's great. Anyway. Names. jotaro listens to music iyote 2020-04-14 | so i've been watching more jojo's bizarre adventure, and jotaro = best jojoJotaro is cool and punk as hell, but he's also secretly an animal-loving nerd. So anyway I was doing a screenshot redraw (was going to make a speedpaint, got carried away and forgot to record) and I was listening to Jotaro's canonical favorite musician, Toshinobu Kubota, so uhh... This mini-animation sketch was created. I guess I'm getting song recommendations from fictional characters now. Toshinobu Kubota's style isn't the type of music I'd typically listen to, but I do like the instrumentation in this song. As it says in the video, this is a redraw of a frame from the 2001 Stardust Crusaders OVA. I like Jotaro's design in it, and I needed more practice drawing humans, so I figured a screenshot redraw would be a good way to practice. Iggy speedpaint iyote 2020-03-28 | Today I didn't want to do anything, so I just did my online homework and watched Jojo's Bizarre Adventure. I've only finished Parts 1-3 so don't spoil me please. Also avoid this if you don't want Jojo spoilers. Anyway I was inspired to draw Iggy, since he's the only Jojo character I can conceivably draw. I only recorded my lineart cleanup though. All dogs go to heaven.
