After completing assembly and system checks at the Uprise shop, we towed the MPS 2 hours to the Ocotillo desert. Upon arrival, we began charging a Tesla using the stored power in the MPS’s batteries. Once the turbine was set up and generating power, it sent energy directly to the Tesla, with any excess power going back to the MPS's batteries. The setup took just 15 minutes, and the MPS ran flawlessly for 2 hours, achieving peak outputs of 11kW and generating over 12kWh. After the successful test, we packed up and returned to Uprise HQ—all in the same day.

The Uprise Energy Mobile Power Station is a 14kW wind turbine that fits in a 20’ shipping container, and sets up in one hour to produce clean, affordable electricity. The machine is designed to be especially efficient in low wind speeds, which allows it to be conveniently located near customers, particularly in areas that have historically relied on diesel generators for power.
The United States Air Force (USAF) is seeking modern capabilities to rapidly establish distributed operations in hostile environments around the world. This effort addresses an important aspect of Agile Combat Employment (ACE), a scheme of maneuver that shifts operations from centralized, physical infrastructures to a network of smaller, dispersed locations, providing flexibility for friendly forces and complicating circumstances for adversaries.
The USAF recognizes that future USAF operating locations will need to be lean, versatile, scalable, sustainable, and resilient. The Expedient Basing challenge aims to significantly reduce base setup response times from weeks or months to just hours or days without degradation of operational capacity to swiftly execute missions.
