This is my arrangement of "Ocean Force Point Temple" from Star Fox Adventures! It's my favourite song and area from that game, and my first ever SF cover! This is my orchestral cover of the "Drowning Valley" theme from Chrono Cross, also known as "Fossil Valley", originally composed by Yasunori Mitsuda. The original is more or less my favourite VGM track of all time, so I'm not entirely sure why it's taken me so long to create a cover of this theme. I tried to make it sound and feel like a mysterious, dry, dusty, windy, rolling tract. This track was nominated and voted for by my patrons on Subscribestar. I hope this song finds you well, and that this video may bring you into wonder, insight, and aesthetic arrest. May it uplift your heart and suffuse you with pleasure.
This is my arrangement and performance of the Marbule theme from Chrono Cross. The original track was composed by Yasunori Mitsuda. I've already covered this theme a couple of times, but I really enjoyed playing this on my harp, so I decided to record it. This version is unique, combining aspects of the Home World, Another World, and Magical Dreamers variations of the theme, as well as some improvisations.
This is my orchestral arrangement of Erana's Peace from Quest For Glory aka Hero's Quest. The original soundtrack was composed by Mark Seibert. This theme is very special to a friend of mine. I really hope it will fill him with all the magic he felt playing this game for the very first time.
This is my arrangement of the "Lightroot" theme from Legend of Zelda, Tears of the Kingdom. The original track, while very minimal is one of my favourite themes in the game. I wanted to enhance the "sacred" feeling that occurs when Link alights the shrine roots in the underworld. To me, the lightroots might be the most beautiful and interesting thing about TotK. Link repeatedly dives into the abyss, wherein he simultaneously purifies himself, and his kingdom from within. I tried to make this song sound like it was overflowing with with minerals, soil and fluids, insects, darkness and light.
This is my second "Threads of Fate" aka "Dewprism" arrangement. It's a remix of "Book of Cosmos", originally composed by Junya Nakano. While I'm a fan of Nakano's style, and this game's entire OST, for some reason, I've rarely gotten around to doing covers for ToF! So, this was a nice change of pace! The vibe and instrumentation was heavily inspired by various SimCity OSTs! This track was nominated and voted for by my patrons on Subscribestar. This is my orchestral cover of the "Dead Sea" theme from Chrono Cross, originally composed by Yasunori Mitsuda. The track is also sometimes referred to as "Tower of Geddon". A lot of thought, love and care went into this arrangement, since I found this part of CC to be one of the most memorable, haunting and inspiring moments in any RPG. I wanted to capture as many aspects of its essence as I could. I hope you will like it! This track was nominated and voted for by my patrons on Subscribestar. This is my arrangement and performance of the Fi's Theme aka Fi's Lament and Fi's Farewell from Legend of Zelda, Skyward Sword. The original track was composed by Mahito Yokota. I've already covered this theme a couple of times, but I really enjoyed playing this on my harp, so I decided to record it.
This is my arrangement and performance of the Sage Laruto theme from Legend of Zelda, Wind Waker, which is also a version of the main prologue theme. The original track was composed by Toru Minegishi. I decided to go for a mysterious, mystical feeling in a pseudo-Celtic style. I hope you like it!
This is a remix of the horse riding theme from Breath of the Wild, "Riding Night". The original song from BotW, as with the day version, was composed by Manaka Kataoka. I was compelled, once more to compose. I worked on this one throughout the night, as the chill air trickled in from the garden. I think of this as a companion piece to my Riding Day arrangement that I created two days before this one. I suppose I also feel that this piece is thematically connected to my Hyrule Field Night arrangement from Twilight Princess. I hope this cover will make you feel relaxed and inspired, and may it bear you to the realms of myth and dream.
Last night I had the first long and restorative sleep I've had in ages. At some point, I dreamt that my brother and I were children again, and we were riding horses. When I woke up I felt a deep sense of healing, both emotionally and physically. Then I felt compelled to create this remix of the horse riding theme from Breath of the Wild, "Riding Day". The original song was composed by Manaka Kataoka. It was always one of my favourites in the BotW OST, if not my favourite. Nothing compares to that first moment, riding a horse on a bright sunny day, through grass and trees and flowers, and then, spontaneously, this transcendentally beautiful, otherworldly and freeing music gently trickles into your awareness. The song, itself, sounds like a sun shower to me. A moment of sudden, joyful arrest. The moment was fleeting, as life, nature, joy and all of experience is eternally brief. May my arrangement heal you today, as my dreams have healed me.
This is my orchestral arrangement of "Steiner's Theme" from Final Fantasy 9. The original FF9 soundtrack was composed by Nobuo Uematsu. I tried to create the sense of ambivalence, conflicted duty, stubbornness and deliberation. The song should sound as though it is combative, with vigilant military instincts kicking in reflexively. I wanted to capture the feeling of a morally confused individual who frequently sees the world in black-and-white. On some level, we are all Adelbert Steiner. Very often, the more righteously committed we are to our beliefs and allegiances, the more susceptible we are to manipulation and deception. When I wrote the various parts of this waltz, I was inspired by many experiences from my childhood, as well as the places where I've lived. Ferns are an especially important plant to me, representing a kind of otherworldly beauty. Being a prehistoric plant, I tried to simultaneously represent my association with ferns and the faerie realms, as well as something of their ancient, primordial natures. I also tried to include their shapes, colours, and position relative to the ground. This composition got nominated and voted for by my patrons on Subscribestar. Again, I've included songs dating back to when I was in eighth grade, right up until the present. Admittedly, some of these desperately need a redux, but I hope you guys will still enjoy them. It’s a mix of straight up midi, VST, and live keyboard/vocal/tin whistle performances. A couple of them are recordings of me playing my keyboard around 20 years ago! Because I have so many compositions (some of which may never see the light of day), I've decided I’m not going to redux all of them before sharing them - though, ironically, there are some reduxed versions in this compilation.
The Sky Islands them from Legend of Zelda, Tears of the Kingdom was immediately striking! It's so peaceful, aimless, contemplative and free, yet also precise and logical in its own way. Perfect for an air element theme! I was immediately inspired when I heard it. I wanted to capture and, perhaps also elaborate on that relaxing, heavenly feeling. This arrangement is called "Emanations from the Garden". I imagined that all of the tiny floating islands in TotK were once part of a vast, ancient kingdom in a golden age predating Hyrule. Or perhaps that the floating world is an echo of a realm even more powerful and pure.

As a continuation of my compositions concerning the Mystery Cults of Ancient Greece, this meditation piece is themed after the Greek and Roman sun god, Apollo. It's a theme for revelation, introspection, reflection, and deep thought following by inspiration, as well as the quest for enlightenment. It's also about finding order from chaos, focus from distraction and epiphany (the inner light) from darkness.
This is my arrangement of the Great Bay Temple theme from Majora's Mask. In this cover, I wanted to create a sense of wonder, curiosity and subtle, yet exciting danger. For this cover, I wanted to express how the Southern Swamp, Deku Palace and Woodfall Temple might have felt in their most sacred and balanced state! I imagined this dungeon as a place for cleansing and fertility, as opposed to poison and corruption. I also tried to get a sense of "positive" rituals taking place to nourish and harmonize the land. This is an original composition, titled Pearl Mist. I have two other titles for it as well - Amphritite, and Fortuna. It is meant to be a theme for a fey goddess of the ocean. I hope this song brings comfort, introspection and good fortune!
This is my first attempt at an arrangement from Actraiser! This remix is for "Birth of the People", originally composed by Yuzo Koshiro. I've only been through the game once, but I love the music! This is my vocal cover of "Flowers Blooming in the Church" from Final Fantasy 7. The original FF7 track, composed by Nobuo Uematsu, is one of my favourite songs in the game. I also find it incredibly sad, and have often cried while listening to it. In this new age lyrical version, I tried to express all of my deepest and most prominently experienced emotions in life - love, hope, joy, grief and sorrow. I tried to make it sound almost as though a mother and daughter are singing together in the Lifestream, bridging the gaps between Earth and whatever lies beyond.
These are my original lyrics:
🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸 Hold my hand, come to me Let my words like seeds rise in the sunlight Past the stars, heaven far Our hearts are one Light lives on, by the stream Where she sows our futures in her garden There she weaves, melodies Through clouded skies She is more than the wind She is with me, as I'm with you We'll live on, carry on Love shall come, like the sun I’ll plant this future Life will fly home again My heart shall treasure Every moment of joy, love shall abide, in this song Harmonies, nourish me As they find their futures in my gardens You may see, unity Flow in our stream Fortunes flow, let them go Greater riches greet you by the streamside Love will heal, when love's real Open your wings Feel the songs, in the trees As the bird settles by the nest Life flows on, carry on Peace may come, like the sun We’ll plant this future We shall be whole again Our hearts shall treasure Every beauty we find, life shall abide, in our song 🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸
This is my arrangement of the Black Mage Village theme from Final Fantasy 9. The original track was composed by Nobuo Uematsu. Admittedly, this was one of my lesser favourite tracks from FF9 (which, to be fair, isn't saying much, since there isn't really a song in that game that I don't love deeply!). It was an interesting challenge finding inspiration for this cover. In the end, I thought about ancient pioneers, foreign frontiers, clockwork automatons, natural magic, cuckoo clocks, pine forests and “Victorian” life. I feel that the aesthetic of this arrangement fall somewhere between all those things. This track was nominated and voted for by my patrons on Subscribestar. Here is my very first Trials of Mana (Seiken Densetsu 3) arrangement! I went through this game for the first time a couple months ago, and I absolutely loved the soundtrack! This is an orchestral/folk cover of the track "Swivel" which plays on parts of the overworld, including Golden Road.

This is my orchestral arrangement of "Doga and Unei", also known as "Let Me Know the Truth" from Final Fantasy 3, originally composed by Nobuo Uematsu. Merry Christmas everyone! Once again, I have created a Zelda medley as a gift to you all! It contains many of the water related themes from the LoZ series. For this piece, I tried to create a smooth, dreamy, impressionistic mood, as though diving into a dream, travelling through the shallows and the depths, exploring wonders, dangers and moods, and then, finally, waking in the sunlight. I had the help of three amazing performers in this arrangement, including Gamer of the Winds on flute and piccolo, Medlix on oboe and english horn, and Steven Higbee on ocarina. I highly recommend checking out their channels, as they've all produced many beautiful tracks!

This was composed for my Legend of Zelda inspired audio drama, "Lamp of Destiny". It's meant to sound like an original "dungeon" and/or "castle" theme reminiscent of the gameboy era Zelda games like Oracle of Ages or Seasons, or Link's Awakening.

This was composed for my Legend of Zelda inspired audio drama, "Lamp of Destiny". It's a variation of the Chamber of Sages and Legend of the Triforce themes used throughout the series. The audio drama actually has nine different versions of this theme for different scenarios!

This was composed for the epilogue of my Legend of Zelda inspired audio drama, "Lamp of Destiny". This theme will play in the final moments of the story. It comprises several original themes, as well as reoccurring series themes! Out of all the themes created for this project, this one required the most thought, care and planning!
This was composed for my Legend of Zelda inspired audio drama, "Lamp of Destiny". It's used inside Hyrule Castle at various points! This arrangement is based on the various Hyrule King and Castle dungeon themes from Link to the Past, Wind Waker, A Link Between Worlds and Twilight Princess.
This is a relaxing, hopefully spiritually uplifting composition conducive to sleeping, healing anxiety, and guiding meditations as well as other altered states. The song was inspired by the textures, sounds, sights and scents of the forest floor, especially in woods or groves filled with cedar trees (something we have plenty of here in Canada)! I love the feeling of dry, old soil. It is grounding, soothing and inspiring! I tried to make the track sound as though it's teeming with textures, life, medicine, minerals and oils.

This is a new age song which combines several compositions I composed between 2002-2005. All of them were themes for planetary bodies, moons, outer space and/or mythology. I decided to call the track "Europa" because the most prominent theme was named for Jupiter's moon.
This is another original composition inspired by Greek and Roman mythology. I've actually had this song in the works for quite a long time now, but I'm glad I waited to complete it. It revolves around the ideas of attraction, beauty, love and harmony, in all contexts. It is, at its core, a pacific, life affirming and celebratory composition.

Even though I'd already created a choral version of this theme (you can hear that one here: youtube.com/watch?v=quzFDxvxAaE ) and although there are already so many amazing covers of this song out there, I still felt like I had more to say about it, because it's just such an important song to myself, and to so many others!
