I decided to completely modify an old portable CRT television set and turn it into a working PC. The unit is powered off the Raspberry Pi4 4gb and is entirely self contained. It can run off of either mains power or batteries, and has two USB3.0 passthroughs in the back. There is a front mount touchpad for the mouse, and a keyboard port. The keyboard is a 60% layout with arrow keys and Gateron silent brown switches.And yes, the radio on top still works. The 1937 Erika Model M Typewriter Chicago 2021-09-06 | One of the finest machines I’ve ever used, it is an exceedingly engineered typewriter.I thought the music was Wagner, fitting for a German machine, but the audio clip I chose was mislabeled. I had it down between this and the Tannhauser Overture, but the latter didn’t have enough going on in the first bit.

It was a top hit in 1970. The number one hit was Simon and Garfunkel’s Bridge Over Troubled Water, which I own an original studio recording of on reel to reel. 1950s/60s Family Dinner Typewriter Chicago 2021-05-12 | Just figured I’d post this for fun. This was the first tape I ever purchased for recording, but I felt bad erasing the old tape. Besides, it was shedding bad. I left it as is, only about 250 feet is recorded. From what I can tell, it is a half track rim drive machine, likely mono aural. Anyway, enjoy. Things aren’t like this anymore.

The Fabulous 1905 Williams Model 4 Typewriter Chicago 2021-04-17 | The audio for this video is captured from an old pressing of the Philharmonic Orchestra. Excuse the pops and crackles, I never cleaned the record. Track is “Bacchanale” from “Samson and Delilah” by Saint-Saens. The album is Philharmonic family library of Great Music.The machine itself is a 1905 Williams 4, I will be doing another video soon on a Williams 4 from 1901, which has some slight mechanical differences. Type is hit or miss on these, the slugs degrade severely from the ink pads they rest on.

This machine is fundamentally the same as the older models, but features a modern dust masking complete with a hinged lid and the signature glossy black Corona stripes.
