Is Free Will Incompatible with Eternal Security? Answering a Common Objection to OSAS! #shorts Standing For Truth 2024-03-21 | #christianity #theology #apologetics #soteriology #creation #evolution #bible #salvation A common objection to the reality of eternal security involves free will. Those that believe in conditional security (the false doctrine that says a believer can lose his regeneration) will say something like this:"eternal security is false because God gave us free will. If a believer wants to give the gift back or walk away, they can. God doesn't force them to stay in the family."This argument is easily debunked. Humans make free will choices every day that have consequences which cannot be changed. We don't have unlimited free will. Nobody has unlimited free will. We are limited in what we can freely choose to do. A person who chooses to commit suicide (as horrible as that is) has done so by their own free will. When we reproduce and have children, we have made a free will choice to do so, and cannot go back on that choice. Many choices have everlasting consequences. How many times have you freely chose to do something, and immediately wanted to go back and undo that choice? Many times I'm sure. Just because we have the freedom to make choices does not mean we can always go back on the outcome of that free choice.Trusting Jesus Christ for eternal life has everlasting consequences. When a person believes on the Lord Jesus for salvation, they have been passed from death unto life. They are in the life now. They have been baptized into the body of Christ. And they have been sealed with the Holy Spirit unto the day of redemption. There is no going back on the results that the choice to trust Jesus Christ led to. This is because that choice resulted in everlasting consequences. The Bible says that those justified (through faith) will be glorified. This is a guarantee. This is an everlasting outcome of believing. Does God have unlimited free will? God is eternal. He is all-knowing and all-powerful. Can He stop being eternal or all-knowing and all-powerful? God is true. The way to the truth is through God. Can God lie? Can God stop being true? These are questions those that hold to conditional security need to ask themselves. There are numerous things about us that we cannot change. There are many things we can't do even if we tried really hard. We can't become Superman and fly. We can't change our ethnicity and height. And somebody who has believed and been predestined for glorification cannot change that. Everlasting life is a result of trusting Jesus Christ and His finished work. A believer cannot change that which he has been predestined for--which is final sanctification. In summary, this objection put forth by those who oppose eternal security have not properly thought through their argument. They need to ask themselves the important question "do I have unlimited free will?" People frequently make choices that have everlasting effects. Believing on the Lord Jesus Christ for eternal life has everlasting consequences. There is nothing anybody can do to undo the work that God is doing in those that have been regenerated. The REAL TRUTH About Carbon Dating! #shorts Standing For Truth 2024-03-14 | #creation #evolution #science #apologetics #christianity #debate #genesis #bible Carbon dating has turned out to be a great friend of Young Earth Creationists. The reason for this has to do with the decay processes associated with radiocarbon.Carbon decays quickly. C-14 has a half-life of 5500 years. If every single atom in the universe was made of carbon, it would all decay in less than a million years. And this is being generous to proponents of an old earth. Since C-14 has such a short half-life, any C-14 should essentially be negligible after even 100,000 years. Why this is all important is because if the rocks and fossils really are billions of years old (as apologists of common descent argue), there should be no carbon left. It should have all decayed away. This is precisely why scientists don't carbon date samples assumed to be millions or billions of years old. I want to look at one important example. This example is diamonds. And diamonds provide incredible scientific evidence for Young Earth Creation. Firstly, diamonds are claimed to be billions of years old. This means they should have no carbon 14 present in them. Unfortunately for those that believe in an earth that's billions of years old, diamonds have been analyzed and found to have measurable carbon 14. This provides observable evidence against an old earth and for an earth that is young. Diamonds come from deep within the earth. This means they have not had any contact with the atmosphere. They should not have any radiocarbon present in them. And since they are one of the hardest substances on earth, they would be resistant to contamination. The diamonds that were tested all yielded detectable levels of radiocarbon with much of the radiocarbon giving the same age. This is all repeatable data. And this data strongly refutes the idea that the earth is billions of years old. This simply cannot be the case. Or else we shouldn't be finding measurable amounts of radiocarbon in diamonds that are said to be a billion or more years old.Many defenders of evolution and an old earth have employed an argument from contamination to counter this amazing evidence for Young Earth Creation. The problem for those who don't want to accept the data for what it clearly indicates, the laboratory applies extremely strict pre-treatment protocols. These protocols involve harsh washings that are repeated in strong acids. These acids will dissolve anything. The samples are hit with multiple treatments that help to ensure that only carbon intrinsic to the sample ends up in the instrument for measurement. This is a weak rescue device that is easily countered. These samples cannot be contaminated. The carbon must be intrinsic to the samples. There is another rescue device employed by critics of Biblical creation. They argue that there should be other nuclear material down in the earth (where diamonds are) that can recharge the C14. They argue this is why we find detectable (sometimes 10x above the detectable limit!) radiocarbon in diamonds. This rescue device has been addressed. The RATE team (which comprises several PhD scientists) investigated this explanation, and they estimated that you would need 13, 000 times more nuclear material in the nearby rocks to adequately recharge the C14. This argument requires unrealistic amounts of material to act as a sufficient recharging mechanism.Critics of a Young Earth have failed to account for why radiocarbon is found in samples claimed to be millions and even billions of years old. Again, radiocarbon cannot last even a million years. The Basis for Condemnation: John 3:18 - Irrefutable Evidence for Eternal Security Standing For Truth 2024-03-11 | John 3:1818 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.We find the basis for positional condemnation in John 3:18. Those that are not condemned (regenerated and therefore predestined for glorification) are those that have believed. When a person trusts Jesus Christ for everlasting life, they are passed from death unto life (John 5:24). This means believers are in the life now. This refutes the notion that says everlasting life is not something the believer has until future. Eternal life is the present possession of the believer. The Bible says "now are we the sons of God" (1 John 3:2). The aspect of salvation that is future is final sanctification (glorification). This is the salvation of our bodies (Romans 8:23). Believers are justified (legally declared righteous). We are born again (regenerated). We are being sanctified (set apart). And we will be glorified (final sanctification). Glorification is when our condition fully conforms to our position in Christ. The moment someone is justified, they have a new destiny. And that destiny is to glorification (Romans 8:30). God will not abort the work that He has begun in believers. God justified. He regenerated. And He will glorify. The basis for condemnation is belief. Those that are condemned are those that "hath not believed" (John 3:18). This means we have two positional categories. These categories comprise those that have believed and those that "hath not believed" or have never believed. John 3:18 puts an end to the once saved always saved versus conditional security debate. Those that hold to conditional security (the false doctrine that says a believer can lose his regeneration) argue that when a born-again Christian stops believing (will a believer stop believing is a greater question), or walks too much in the flesh (resulting in too much sin), they will lose their regeneration. They assert that a believer can go from life back to a state of death. John 3:18 (which gives us the basis for condemnation) provides us with two positional categories. To reiterate, the two categories are those that are condemned (have never believed) and those that are not condemned (the believing ones). Where is this hypothetical category of people who apparently believed, got saved, stopped believing and therefore lost of their salvation? Positionally, we have those condemned (for having never believed) and those that are not condemned (having believed). The moment someone trusts Jesus Christ and His finished work, they have everlasting life. This is life that never ends. Proponents of conditional security have an impossible challenge in interpreting this important text in light of their doctrinal starting point. John 3:18 precludes conditional security from being true. This passage alone effectively falsifies the soteriological position of conditional security. It is impossible to argue that somebody could lose their salvation since they would first have to believe, then stop believing, and as a result become condemned again. But you could not say that these people "hath not believed". This is simply because they did believe. And condemnation (going to the lake of fire) is reserved for those who have never believed. There are far too many major flaws that evolutionary theory does not account for. Proponents of common descent have failed to address substantial challenges to the theory. The purported mechanisms of natural selection (keeps a species as strong as they can be) and mutations (largely deleterious) are inefficient to explain large-scale evolutionary changes. The evidence best suggests that the vast majority of genetic variation is the result of created diversity, and not mutations. Mutations are overwhelmingly deleterious and do not help to create sophisticated biological systems. Mutations are akin to the dings, dents, and rust marks a vehicle will accumulate over time. This is one of the many reasons why the Biblical model of ancestry best explains the data. Eternal Security is 100% Biblical! | Demolishing Conditional Security Standing For Truth 2024-03-08 | #christianity #bible #eternalsecurity #oncesavedalwayssaved #apologetics #debate #creation #evolution The Bible teaches a believer cannot lose their regeneration. You are not born again and again and again. You are born again one time. This is akin to your physical birth. A person is only born physically into this world once. And a believer is only born into the spiritual family of God once. We are told to be born again - born of the spirit. Our first birth was of the water. And our second birth is a spiritual birth that occurs the moment we place our trust in Jesus Christ. When you trust Jesus Christ for salvation, you are passed from death unto life. This means you are in the life now. This should be obvious. But many who hold to a sloppy form of soteriology called conditional security would have us believe that we can go from life back to death. This is contrary to both scripture and logic.We are all born into this world as creatures of God. Once a person places their trust (believe and trust are used interchangeably in the Bible) in the finished work of Jesus Christ, they are legally declared righteous. This is known as justification. You cannot be un-justified. Justification is once and for all. You are also born again or regenerated. A person who has placed their faith in Jesus Christ for salvation has gone from a creature of God to a son of God. God does not commit spiritual abortion. But @shamounian would have us believe that God would spiritually abort His own children! This is not sound soteriology. And this is easily debunked.The Bible also teaches that once a person is justified and regenerated, they are also predestined for glorification. Glorification is final sanctification (being conformed to the image of His son). This is when believers get a new body (the redemption of the body). @shamounian would have us believe that God will abort that work that He has begun in us. No, the believer has a new destiny the moment he chose to put his faith and trust in the finished work of Jesus Christ. There is no changing that destiny. The believer is also indwelt and SEALED with the Holy Spirit unto the day of redemption. This is a downpayment. There is no un-sealing the Holy Ghost. Believers WILL receive new bodies at final sanctification. Jesus speaks of salvation as being life that never ends. Jesus says no man (including the believer himself) can pluck us out of His hand, or His Father's hand (double eternal security!). Jesus says the believer is in the life NOW. The passing from death unto life is not something that is ongoing. No, it has passed. This shouldn't be complicated. But apparently conditional security proponents like Sam Shamoun think this is complicated. Jesus also says that the one who believes in Him will never thirst, never hunger, and never die! In the Greek, never die is quite emphatic. It literally means never ever die! But conditional security proponents would have us believe that we could die, or we could thirst and hunger. But this is not Biblical. Believe it or not, never die literally means never die. Since a believer clearly cannot lose his salvation since Jesus has promised us eternal life (life that never ends). And if you could lose salvation, that would not be eternal life. That would be temporary life. Jesus does not lie. The question becomes: what can a believer lose? A believer can lose his fellowship (different from sonship or position), blessings, his testimony, and rewards. A believer will also be chastised by his heavenly Father for not walking in the spirit and following His commandments. A person who gets saved goes from not having chastisement TO having divine chastisement. This is meant to correct the believer back into fellowship.The Apostle Paul says "if we live in the spirit (our position), let us also walk (our experience) in the spirit". A believer may stumble and fall in his experience, but nothing can change his position in Christ. Our condition as believers should be conforming more and more to the image of His Son. And we do this by walking in the spirit and excelling in our spiritual education. In summary, a believer cannot lose his regeneration. God does not commit spiritual abortion. When you understand the differences between justification and sanctification - or position and condition - it becomes extremely easy to refute guardians of spiritual abortion such as Sam Shamoun. Jesus says a believer will never die. And Jesus does not lie. Believers are eternally secure. Jesus assures believers that He will never cast us out, we can never be plucked from His hand or His Father's hand, we will never die, never hunger, and never thirst. The Bible is clear when it says nothing can separate the believer from the love of God (a merism that covers the believer as well). Those that believe in conditional security (the teaching that says believers can lose their salvation) fail to put enough attention on the eternal rewards a believer can earn based on the way he lived on this earth. Human engineers design modes of transportation with a lot of common features. Sedans across Europe, Asia, and North America, comprise many similar traits. They are built with four doors (generally), two rows of seats, four tires, engines, frames, steering wheels, etc. Vehicles of all kinds are now front-loaded with a variety of special features. These include back-up cameras, navigation systems, and different types of neat safety features (adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, parking sensors, lane assist). The reason for these similarities are not because the sedans share a common arctic ancestor. No, these similarities exist for functional and aesthetic purposes.Apologists of evolution attempt to argue against design analogies by repeating the argument "cars don't reproduce". They assert this loudly and proudly. They make this argument as if this is some profound truth that only those in the evolutionary community have managed to figure out! Committed evolutionists have no choice but to invoke this weak response to the obvious evidence for design (seen in biology) because they understand the focus on design analogies appeals greatly to the general population. Human engineers build in homologous (and even nested hierarchical) patterns. Therefore, why shouldn't God? Remember, the Bible states that we as humans are made in the Image of God. This must mean there must be something about humans that reflects the divine. We should be able to get an idea into how God designed the biological world based on the way we build things. Does THIS argument refute Special Creation? Dismantling evidence for Evolution! Standing For Truth 2024-03-01 | #creation #evolution #christianity #bible #science #genetics #apologetics #debate Apologists of common descent argue for their viewpoint by looking to homologous patterns in the biological world. This applies to both organismal structure and genetic content. Homology is largely agnostic to the overall origins debate. The common design model can easily account for homologous patterns in the biological world, and this goes for similarity in both anatomy and genes. Human engineers design in homologous patterns. Therefore, we would expect God to do the same. Biological organisms perform many of the same functions. This means organisms are going to need similar DNA sequences and genetic content to code for the proteins that make up the bodies of living organisms. Defenders of evolution will frequently concede this point. They will agree that this kind of homology is agnostic to the question of ancestry. Rather, they will look to what they call homology in sequences of DNA they believe are junk and represent evolutionary leftovers (functionless DNA, pseudogenes, ERVs, Alu sequences, etc.). The important question to ask is: do these genomic sequences and interesting DNA elements really represent evolutionary leftovers? The answer is no, and I'll explain why by referring to a previous post I wrote debunking the concept of junk DNA:There exists powerful evidence for genome-wide functionality. The ENCODE project (and subsequent projects) has revealed that at least 80% of the genome is active to some extent (biochemical activity). We have also learned that about 60% of the genome is transcribed into RNA. These findings were a surprise to those in the evolutionary camp that expect the human genome to be a reflection of evolutionary history. If common descent were true, we should be finding genomes of junk, and evolutionary leftovers. But this is not what we find. Militant evolutionists argue that the greater majority of this activity is simply spurious or noise. This argument is easily refuted. Transcription is an energy and resource intensive process. Every time a single nucleotide as added to a growing RNA chain, the cell is utilizing energy. This would be incredibly wasteful of energy and resources if the activity taking place in the genome was simply noise. The large amount of transcripts produced would clutter up the interior of the cell if they were not involved in important operational roles.If guardians of common descent were correct on this matter, and most of the genome was non-functional (many evolutionary scientists argue the genome is only 10% functional!), natural selection should have been able to weed out a lot of this junk over time. There should also exist mechanisms to suppress this activity (if the activity were merely spurious). Transcribing a large portion of the genome for non-functional reasons should be minimized. This tells us that the transcription, and activity, is beneficial, and not mere noise. This would be akin to buying new clothes weekly and stuffing it into your dresser without ever taking old clothes out to throw out or give away. Your dresser would quickly become a mess. And you would have no choice but to remove older clothes to make for more efficient living. Transcription factors are proteins that regulate the transcription of genes (copying into RNA). These amazingly designed proteins ensure that the right genes are being expressed in the right cells of the body, and at the right time. If we find high levels of non-specific binding in the genome, you will be titrating out transcription factors. This essentially means the cellular processes won't be able to get the transcription binding that is necessary. Random binding will gum up the operations. This would also go against genomic efficiency. Most of the binding in the genome (which is a lot) must therefore be serving a purpose or else cellular operations would be incredibly messy. The random binding of transcription factors would muck up the systems of the cell. The genome would be a disorganized mess. All of this would create what's called an interference problem. There are limited transcription factor copies that can be produced. If transcription factors are only binding randomly (noise) to various sites in the genome, there isn't going to be enough transcription factors available to actually do the type of binding that is important for healthy cell processes.*** For the rest of this post, see the pinned comment in the comment section of this video.

What does it mean to believe for eternal life? Scripture interprets scripture. To believe is to trust:Ephesians 1:13-1413 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,14 Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.Notice how the words believe and trust are used interchangeably. Those that have believed in Jesus Christ have trusted Him. To believe is to trust. Once a person is born again (passed from death unto life), they are commanded to bring forth good fruit. What is Biblical fruit? Fruit is the product of something. For example, God commanded Adam, Eve (at creation), and Noah (after the Flood) to be fruitful and multiply. This command meant to reproduce physically and have children to fill the earth:Genesis 1:2828 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.Genesis 9:19 And God blessed Noah and his sons, and said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth.The reader will notice that according to the text, being fruitful is to replenish the earth. This has everything to do with reproduction. The product or fruit of a human is another human. Humans produce humans, dogs produce dogs, and apple trees produce apples. Again, fruit is the product of something. Humans are born into this world as creatures of God. Our physical birth is our first birth. Humans reproduce physically. We are told to be born again. When we are regenerated (by faith in Jesus Christ), we are commanded to bring forth good fruit. In other words, believers are commanded to reproduce spiritually by preaching the Gospel to the lost and providing them with the necessary information to get saved as they trust in the finished work of Jesus Christ:Proverbs 11:3030 The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise.Believers are righteous through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. We are justified because of His imputed righteousness. According to Proverbs 11:30, the product of a believer is more believers. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is the power of God unto salvation:Romans 1:1616 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.Those in an unregenerate state are saved by faith and faith alone in the finished work Jesus Christ. He sanctifies. And He glorifies. For a person to believe the Gospel they must hear the Gospel. And we as soldiers of Jesus Christ are to go out into the world making believers and disciples of all nations. Paul tells those that are regenerated to walk in the spirit. When we as believers walk in the spirit, we will manifest the fruits of the spirit. The product of the spirit is love, joy, peace, etc. By walking in the spirit, abiding in Christ, and putting in the necessary work to reach the lost with the Gospel, the justified will be fruitful. Believers will excel in their spiritual education as their condition conforms more and more to their position. Do Humans and Chimpanzees share a Common Ancestor? Chromosome 2 Fusion (Irrefutable Evidence?) Standing For Truth 2024-02-26 | #evolution #creation #christianity #origins #debate #apologetics #science #genetics Apologists of evolutionary theory look to the apparent chromosome 2 fusion in humans as evidence for common descent. When this argument is examined, it becomes evident that this is a dispute largely agnostic to the overall ancestry debate. In other words, looking to a possible chromosomal fusion in the human lineage as a way to differentiate (or discriminate) between the creation and evolution models will not work. This is simply because both models can account for the data. As a matter of fact, the Biblical model of ancestry provides the more parsimonious (the simplest) answer. The Biblical creation model comprises 2 bottlenecks post-Flood. Right after the Flood, the human population is 8 (Noah, his wife, Shem, Ham, Japheth, and their wives). People don't spread out around the planet right away. This means we have several hundred years where humans are mostly situated in a single geo-graphical location (rather than spreading out to different parts of the planet). At the tower of Babel, we see most of the human population (some isolated human families may have spread out prior to Babel, but the Bible appears to be silent on this) isolated to one major area. God then confuses the languages which results in people spreading out and filling the earth. This time period from when Noah and his family walk off to Ark to the tower of Babel dispersal could explain how a fusion could become fixed in the population before people move out around the planet. In other words, the separate ancestry model can better explain why all humans today have 46 chromosomes rather than 48 (if they were created with 48 chromosomes).This is not to say there really was a fusion in the human lineage. I am simply pointing out the agnostic nature of this argument that defenders of common descent argue is undeniable evidence for their viewpoint. There exists scientific evidence against a fusion. One of the biggest reasons proponents of evolution believe there are traces of an ancient fusion in the human genome involves telomeric repeats. But finding head-to-head telomeric repeats in a human chromosome cannot be irrefutably interpreted as being the result of a fusion. It turns out these elements are found within the human genome at locations not applicable to a fusion. They simply represent functional stretches of DNA fulfilling a purpose to the overall management of the human genome. If these telomeric calling cards (in a head-to-head arrangement) were only found at the reputed fusion site, the evolutionary community may have a point. For awhile this was thought to be the case. A fellow Young Earth Creationist and myself discovered telomeric-sequences in a head-to-head (the so-called calling cards of a fusion) arrangement at other locations within the genome that are not pertinent to an ancient fusion. This was a novel discovery. It also adequately answers an evolutionary challenge. The head-to-head arrangement of repetitive telomeric DNA (TTAGGG/CCCTAA) has now been demonstrated to not be completely unique to the so-called fusion site—as these DNA elements have been found in other places within the human genome. The innovative research performed by a fellow Young Earth Creationist and myself has resulted in compelling evidence for telomeric repeats (interstitial or internal telomeric sequences) in both forwards and in reverse existing on multiple chromosomes (1, 2, 6, 9, 10, 15, 16, 18, 20). Most importantly, we also discovered a similar signature in chromosome 9. The telomeric-like hexamer sequence and its reverse complement are arranged head-to-head in a similar fashion to the purported fusion site. Was the reputed fusion site cherry-picked? It appears so. It is important to note that chromosome 2 is moreover the second largest chromosome in the human genome. Chromosome 9 is much smaller, and yet it contains fewer gaps between the telomeric repeats, with the chromosome 2 site containing numerous gaps. The asserted fusion site is only 798 bases in length. If this really was the mark of an ancient fusion event, this region should be much larger than 798 bases. There are only roughly 10 intact TTAGGG telomere sequences that exist at the site. And there are only about 43 of the reverse complement telomere sequences that are recovered intact.In summary, the chromosome 2 fusion argument does not provide the evolutionary community with discriminatory evidence for common descent. If there was a fusion event in the human lineage, the Biblical model of ancestry can easily account for it. As a matter of fact, the separate ancestry model can better account for it! The evolutionary community has to address both the fixation problem for a fusion as well as the good evidence against a fusion happening at all.
