I think it came out pretty okay. It's a real testiment to Bob Ross' ability to teach complete noobs like me how to make halfway competent landscape paintings. I'm sure semi-pro painters that may watch this will cringe at some of the happy little mistakes I made.I've got animation projects on the backburner but have been too busy being a husband and pest technician to dedicate the kind of time I did to make videos. I've been brainstorming a new way to do ocarina videos by making it more like guitar hero to make it easier to follow along and up the quality of the videos.My wife got me an oculus quest 2 for my birthday which I've been greatly enjoying. Easily one of my more spur-of-the-moment projects that I've been diddling around with until I got around to finishing it. Aside from those couple of DML type vids this was the most low effort I gave in terms of animation.J.I.M has been an animation staple of mine since 2005 when I was in high school. It's been amazing to re-introduce myself to his works and the obscene amounts of style changes he's done. Much like Scott Ramsoomair and his VG Cats, Johnathan Mathers is one of those guys who was super big in my social circles and was the sole topic of discussion at lunch when he dropped a new video on newgrounds or his website IllWillPress(.)com. I still haven't watched all his newer videos from 2010 onward so I've got that to look forward to. Now with the My little Pony series coming to a close it only seemed appropriate to make this around its end. A nice little bookmark I think. It's been a fun little ride, even if the show itself lost track of the initial vision along the way and had episodes that were exactly what Lauren Faust wanted to avoid in the first place. To be honest, the brony community has been one of (of not THE) best online communities with a lot of creative, talented people contributing and helping newer talented people hone their skills and passions. Something that can't really be said of most modern online communities based around a show (looking at you Steven Universe). The cringe parts of the fandom are not any worse than the Sonic fandom. The adult art is nothing new to the internet, though I agree that it was gratuitous for the short time the fandom has existed and the flurry of unsolicited pony content in forums and discussions that had nothing to do with the show rightfully stirred up scorn from people who had no interest in the show. Despite that, the amount of content created by bronies is a marvel and has helped make people aware of exceptional content creators on YouTube like TheLivingTombstone, SaberSpark, AntonyC, DWK, PrinceWhatever, NRGPony, ToxicThunderCloud, Balddumborat and many many more.I don't think I'm quite done animating ponies just yet (I've been sitting on remastering episode 17 of the Mentally Advanced Series). But I really do think I should branch out. I've got my eye on a few sea shanty type songs like "This Ship's going Down" and "The Mariner's Revenge". Heck, I've got one project that's 1/3 done that's a tribute to Foamy the Squirrel that uses my own voice track singing Randy Dandy Oh.As always, thank you for visiting my channel and supporting me. Pony Phonics 2 - Homonymble Game ocarinaplaya 2016-07-28 | This is probably the fastest I've ever made a cartoon. 28 hours in the span of 5 days.This song is from an old game I used to play in elementary school called Kid Phonics 2. I think it was made back in 1993 or so and since then the term "homonym" has been repurposed. What this song refers to as homonyms are now called "homophones" and homonyms now are "words that are spelled the same but mean different things". Words like fine, check, pole, etc.My current goal is to make a similar music video covering compound words. Most of the groundwork is already done so it shouldn't take as much time to do. I think after that I'll remaster my second favorite Mentally Advanced Series episode and have FimFlamFilosophy upload it on his channel. I figure that's fair.I got rid of my internet since AT&T was screwing me over on my bills so now I'm uploading on my brother-in-laws macbook. Gotta say, getting rid of my internet got rid of most of my distractions. I'm working more on animation and going outside and other crazy things like that.

Not just abridged episodes from the FiM show but abridging popular fanfics as well with the Rainbow Dash Presents series as well as a fun spin on Lets Plays where monkey girls play and discuss games (Soul Reaver and Legacy of Kain being my personal favs). Unfortunately they've made a lot more videos that were ultimately removed due to copyright claims. I don't remember if the claims were from Hasbro or not. Sucks either way since most of those videos had some pretty stellar writing that holds up well today. This video is a re-imagining of episode 12 of the lost Mentally Advanced Series in the style of Rainbow Dash Presents using flash puppets I made (because I have no patience for drawing). Kudos to Petirep for drawing a buttload of pictures to make videos several minutes long.In case those of you who are much better at the filming thing, my Hoity Toity cutout is supposed to look bad. Sparity Labretto ocarinaplaya 2015-12-22 | (Update: not sure why comments were disabled, finally got internet access back to my desktop to fix some things)Hey guys! I actually made another animation before the end of the year! Huzzah!As you can guess this is a little tribute to all you Spike and Rarity shippers out there. Siansaar and Kilala97 being the biggest shippers I follow. You may have noticed that there are two Sparity OC offspring dragon-pony hybrid... things in there. Those OCs belong to the ever-talented Kilala97 and were used with her permission. I would have loved to have used Siansaar's OC Lavender but his OC is a girl and would be weird for a doctor to sing about having a son when it's a girl. Incidently I had my 5 year old nephew do his first ever bit of voice acting as the bite sound from Turquoise. I totally wanted to involve him in this and it definitely wasn't because I couldn't find a decent "chomp" sound effect on flashkit or anything...This whole project took about 67 episodes of Game Grumps playing Wind Waker to do. Those guys are nice to listen to whenever my focus is somewhere else. Dan is best Grump.This is basically a pony version of one scene from an episode of Dexter's Laboratory (episode is called "Labretto") that is a musical detailing the early years of Dexter's life as well as his sister Dee Dee. I would do another scene where Claire plays as Dee Dee but then she'd be acting out of character and I don't think Kilala would fly with that.So what are your Christmas plans this year? My family has a little tradition where we eat homemade pizza for lunch and lasagna for dinner. It may seem a tad nontraditional according to the media, but screw it. The homemade spaghetti meat sauce we use in the lasagna kicks Olive Garden's sauces in the taint and then promptly curb stomps it with flavor. The only downside to our amazing sauce is the fact that it takes two hours to make.This video is also the first time I got to use my updated pony body animation rigs in legit motion. I built the rigs to use for the Petirep-style adaptation for the Mentally Advanced Series of MLP but after working with them for a while I noticed that they are much more user-friendly than what I've been working with before. I also built the adult Spike from scratch and I think he came out pretty okay (though the knobby elbows and knees may be too pronounced). You may have even noticed I recycled my stallion head and recolored it to suit Spike. Lazy ways are the best ways. I may put the .fla files in my dropbox and post download links on my deviantart for anyone that wants to tinker around with my rigs. That's because Mr. Ramsoomair revamped some of his earlier comics to fit his more modern style in his volume 1 vgcats book.I now have a new computer, custom built by one of my best buddies and this thing is a beast. I was able to render a 1080p video in 4 minutes compared to waiting 20 minutes to render a 720p video of the same length. With new hardware came a new desire to make an animation. I kinda went back to basics by doing a VGCats cartoon (been burnt out from doing ponies), and now I'm looking at my options for my next project. Doctor Whooves may not be finished at all at this point since the last one I uploaded hasn't been all that well recieved so it's not rewarding to the viewers and it certainly has me burnt out. It’s still 2013, right?The last episode of Doctor Whooves animated totally made me a liar. I lost motivation to animate for a while, focusing on other things and my second job. With the death of my primary laptop I had even less motivation to do things on an inferior laptop I had laying around; however that changed when I was finally able to install Adobe Flash CS6 to it and production went just as smoothly as I could have hoped for. Even though this dinky bit of animation took 2 years to upload, the total work I put into it runs at around 15 days. Lots of procrastination.Some of you Eagle Eyes may have noticed some details in the video that are off compared to the Winter Wrap Up song in the actual show. Truth be told I only watched the episode twice 3 years ago and based the musical bit from memory. I wanted to put Rarity and Fluttershy next to the Doctor as he was trotting along, but I wanted this thing done by the time the 100th episode of MLP was released so I cut them out. Come to think of it, I did the rake wrong as well since it had a different handle in the show. Eh, too late to fix it now.Heads up: I’m not planning to do any more Doctor Whooves animated bits for a good while longer. Ponies Marching In (40k subscribers!) ocarinaplaya 2014-08-02 | I saw recently that I had somehow managed to get 40,000 subscribers on this channel that has been otherwise dead for the better part of a year and a half. Thank you to everyone who was here from the beginning and those of you who liked my videos enough to hit the subscribe button.I've noticed that plenty of youtubers, animators and artists that I follow are using Patreon to help make money. I've thought about doing it as well, but then I said "nah." Having a worthwhile patreon account sounds like too much trouble for my lazy butt. Making exclusive stuff for patreon followers, releasing videos on a somewhat regular basis (some of you guys know how I am with deadlines), and just dedicating a lot of my free time for a hobby-turned-job. If you guys wanna support me and not have to throw any money my way, just watch my videos with adblock off, maybe click an ad or two (it helps, but don't click shady ads. Google kinda sucks at filtering spam ads) it's an easy way to say "good jerb, Ocarinaplaya." I wouldn't want to make a Patreon and have people pledge money to an erratically inactive account. My mind made the connection and I went with it.For the longest time I considered Tiarawhy my animation rival. However, he/she has pretty much surpassed me to the point that I don't think I can catch up. As a result I'm kinda latching onto JakeWhyman as a pseudo-rival in the hopes to improve myself in video editing and comedy. So far so good, right?...Right?Oh! I have a fun little story for some of you guys who enjoy descriptions and such.I was called into work on my day off and the place was a wreck due to my coworkers going in so early (and being lazy on the final stretch) to make king cakes. Once I finished cleaning the shop I started driving home. It's night, wet and cold on a semi-busy street. One overzealous cunt damn near caused an accident that would have surely sent me to the hospital! There are 5 lanes on this street (2 travel lanes on each side and a turning lane in the middle). This unbelievable bitch was in the left oncoming travel lane and felt the need to turn left despite not being in the turning lane. There was someone in left turning lane on my side blocking my view of this bitch and vice versa. The light was green with no turning arrows lit when she made her turn and I nearly slammed into her. The only way I was able to avoid a bad accident was to swerve hard into oncoming traffic (thankfully empty). This cumdumpster, instead of stopping when she saw me, floored it and nearly assured our injuries.Needless to say, I was super pissed off at her.Squealing brakes and revving engines for a split second and it was over. I was so pissed I made a quick (legal) u-turn and followed her home. She pulled up her driveway and got out. I parked on the street, got out and screamed:"WHAT THE EVER-LIVING FUCK?!!!"She knew she was in the wrong, she tried to apologize. I'm usually a sucker for 20-something girls who admit their wrong-doing but this harpy was getting no mercy from me. I went on a tirade of yelling and insults and would have still been there to this day had her (I assume) father not come out and start yelling at me. Dude was likely a veteran, which figures since most of my auto accidents involve some privileged army brat. I yelled at him about what happened, screamed one last "fuck you" to the bitch, and went home.I'm a pretty passive guy. I believe in "no harm, no foul." But that kind of recklessness is unacceptable to me. The only other time I was ever pissed enough to follow someone, was when some black chick cut me off so sharply that my engine stalled when I slammed my brakes. What pissed me off was that my sister and 2 month-old nephew were in the car with me.Drive safely kids, or crazy guys will follow you home.
