TASLabzHey there everyone, this is Joe here. This is my second video on TASLabz, the first being Summer Starville which was uploaded at least half a year ago now. As for this run, I know it's improvable but I was aiming for a sub 33, and that's what I got :). The legit BKT Lap 1 is 34.369 by Remy, in case you're interested.
[MKWii TAS] Wetland Woods Lap 1 - 32.863 by SolFireTASLabz2014-01-05 | Hey there everyone, this is Joe here. This is my second video on TASLabz, the first being Summer Starville which was uploaded at least half a year ago now. As for this run, I know it's improvable but I was aiming for a sub 33, and that's what I got :). The legit BKT Lap 1 is 34.369 by Remy, in case you're interested.
Authorship distribution: Majority of the run was created by me (Ejay); Citrinitas kindly helped to shave off some milliseconds at the last two turns.
Very happy to cut off nearly 0.1 from the former BKT on such a short, lines-based category, and without wheel inputs on the shortcut too. QM makes this category surprisingly difficult to TAS, especially when passing by the block corners. I'm sure 15 is barely possible with wheel inputs.
I found a way to make Marth's final ramp strat much faster and also viable for 3lap runs. It is VERY QM-reliant, and caused Citrinitas and I much grief when working on the last turn.
I decided to upload this run to TASLabz because it's basically the same lap as my supergliding flap, and I didn't feel like a repetitive upload. So, here we are.

This TAS was made by @MalleoSquirrelX, @Malleo, and @MKWiiTomas.
This TAS stood out as it was perhaps the most affected by the GDQ deadlines. At the end of February 2019, Blaze and Malleo had made their way to lap 3, and had to settle for a 32.495 in time for the submission. In late March, Thomas offered to help clean up the ending, though stopped short with a time of 32.420, eventually uploading it a couple weeks later. In late June, Thomas properly finished the TAS in time for GDQ, producing the completed last turn with a rewheelie.

Noteworthy as being the most rewatched moment in the MKWii TAS segment of SGDQ 2019, the first lap was considered one of the most entertaining sequences of strategies to date. Without the creativity from RS and Jellopuff, combined with the help from active collaborators at the time, specifically Akari's incredible TASing speed, this TAS would not have been possible.

With more than 80% of the TAS being locked to the box cycles, the GDQ commentary team took it upon themselves to clean up the ending (while they were at GDQ), as that was the only place left with room for improvement. The community was therefore presented with this slightly faster lap 3 instead of Blaze's original TAS from a few weeks earlier.
Special thanks to @Kierio04 for recording and editing this video[MKWii TAS] New Ultra Shortcut on Daisy Circuit (+15.805 Flap)TASLabz2021-07-01 | Make sure to watch in the highest quality possible!
Yes, you read it correctly. Daisy Circuit officially has an ultra shortcut viable in Time Trials! This makes the star cup the first cup to have an ultra on every track.
You may be asking, “is this RTA viable?”, the answer is: very likely not. Due to the combination of TWO extremely precise time-sensitive wallclips, it would be highly unlikely that it can be performed in a real-time flap WR, without a major strategy change or new tech discovery to change that fact (which could happen at any point out of nowhere).
If you would like to view the flap with info such as Lap and Race Completion then check out this alternative encode (youtu.be/jGo0pRqMdpI)

I started a slip drift too early (about 4 frames) so I lost .00x but I didn't think that his slip drift was possible with my slide while count down. However I was ahead of his No-SC TAS by a little bit when the timer was at 16 seconds. I think .6 is possible but it will take me more many hours (I already spent 40+ hours) and I'll get 1:52.7xx by next month (maybe).[MKWii TAS] Grumble Volcano (Rock Hop) - 1:29.345 by MatsTASLabz2018-05-26 | MKWii TAS Records: (goo.gl/MWMi9h) MKWii TAS Discord: (discord.gg/NCZghgy)

5 years later... Yes, I know this channel is dead but since my last two Delfino lap 1s were uploaded here I figured it was only appropriate to upload my third and final one here as well. Improvements were mostly from better lines and getting a slip drift before the dock sc instead of hopping. Despite this small time cut off of Remy, creating a 3lap here will be complicated due to the gates designed to separate the different pathways each lap not falling in time. Since the strat saves a small amount of time, slowing down in front of the gates lap 1 would make you lose time over a no-glitch run. If I DO ever go 3lap, I would do the first lap shroomless without the wallclip strat. On the second lap, I will perform the glitch shown in the video. If all goes well, the last lap gates will be down, and the intended cannon shortcut will be possible. Worst case scenario, I will be too fast for the last lap gates and the glitch will be obsolete. This SC will even be pointless for any potential FLAP runs, considering that waiting for the third lap gates to descend into the ground and starting the run will be much faster. I don't know how far ahead I was from Remy's run before the wallclip shortcut.

About the run: A couple turns can be tightened. If I tighten the turn before the trick, then it will be impossible to get the strat that I do (which saves .1 compared to a perfect double trick! Hello! I'm Luke and this is my second video for this channel. If you have seen my other TASes on this course then you will interested to know that I am working on it again! After I heard that Lamejoin wasn't interested in getting 1:59 anymore, I decided to see how a lap with the dock shortcut would turn out. I'm very happy with a .8 and I'll probably improve it a bit more. Last turn can be improved slightly. I used a few new strats in achieving this time. Most notable the wall clip around the second turn, this is faster due to taking a tighter line, the wheelie is only delayed 2 frames later, which doesn't really affect anything since you accelerate during those frames anyway. The realignment I used before the shroom is similar to the one Lamejoin used lap 3, but with a jump to make it tighter. in the cut I did an early wheelie and jumped to go way tighter and then use the 1 drift strat to get the miniturbo out quickly. This strat would actually save time on a run that does not use the dock. And my bridge strat is a bit different but nothing really notable to say about it. For anyone wondering, getting as high as possible on the bridge is fastest because it means I can align around the grass much later than I normally would if I got a lower trick. As far as I know, the left side of the split path is most optimal to get the miniturbo out and get a better alignment for the dock.
I will try to keep improving this lap and work towards a 3 lap run which will hopefully sub 2:00. The 3 lap run will be uploaded on my channel which can be found here: (http://bit.ly/19emeVm)
Thank you very much for watching and reading.[MKWii TAS] SNES Ghost Valley 2 Lap 1 (Glitch) - 16.298 by TASPlasmaTASLabz2013-11-27 | Hi guys, it is TasPlasma. In case you are wondering why there hasn't been an upload for 2 whole months, everyone is very busy with school, and several TASers have quit the past month or so.
About the run: Because it is an individual lap, I thought it would look better to not align for the next glitch yet. There is also another reason for this, I am not going to start lap 2 until a soon to come feature in dolphin is is implemented. This will allow even higher optimization than before in TASes. If you are wondering why the turn at 0:18 is wide, it is because if I take it tighter, I will not align well at all for the next turn, it is much slower to be farther away from the next turn. The only way to tighten the turn and have it be faster is to hop one frame earlier, but unfortunately, I cannot do this without crashing into the wall (even with a softdrift). This could be fixed by changing my angle towards the turn, however previous attempts at doing so have proven to be slower.
Regarding Desert Hills: I have finished lap 2, but I have encountered a problem. There is a fireball blocking my path aligning for the first turn on lap 3. This could cost the sub, unless Paco's wheelie in double trick strat is faster (which could save the sub). Expect Desert Hills to be completed either this weekend, or next weekend.

Hello! This is Luke. This is my first video for this channel, and I'm quite glad with this time. First few turns can be improved slightly, as well as the SC. The bridge strat used here is 0.1 - 0.15 faster than the strat used in the previous BKT. This is one rare case where a low trick is not faster, because a re-align is necessary to get around the grass. Getting around it with the a boost keeps me at top speed and saves time. Basically to achieve this, I used a technique called rapid fire hop abuse (RFHA) to get low air on the bridge. I then side tricked last frame and somehow clip the other side of the bridge to start a wheelie without canceling the trick or giving me the boost from the trick. Obtaining the wheelie pushes me much farther through the air, and I'm able to land much farther ahead, making the boost last long enough to re-align in the grass area without dropping too much speed.
I will try to keep improving this lap and work towards a 3 lap run which will hopefully sub 2:02. The 3 lap run will be uploaded on my channel which can be found here: (http://bit.ly/19emeVm)

Zak had recommended multiple times to try a higher first zipper strat, it is faster by 3 or 4 frames maybe. Rules: -Must be done with TAS -Anyone may participate -Begin this on the 1st lap -Turn around and make the left side glitch anyway you want -Get the lap count trigger -Make the right side glitch -Go under the bridge to count the lap
Your lap 1 is your submission time.

Hi guys, it's TasPlasma here with my first ever 3 lap run. I was somewhat satisfied as my original goal was 1:51, but now I see that 1:49 is possible if re done with extra patience, time and optimization. The last ramp varied on each lap for a few reasons: For one, lap 1 had the fastest strat theoretically, but not for lap 2 and 3 because that strat throws you off course so much, only useful if being done right before the ultra. For two, lap 2 last ramp strat was essentially exactly as fast as lap 3, lap 2 had less air time and lap 3 had more forward launch. Lap 2 and 3 last ramp strats were not possible without a rapid fire hop trick off the previous ramp. 1:49 looks possible due to many improvements in this run, however I am very tired of TASing this track so I will move on to something else and eventually come back and improve.
(BKT cut 0:15.776) previous Kart TAS BKT is 2:06.559
Music is "Dry Dry Ruins 8 bit remix", made by me.

I'm bringing you guys a long awaited improvement on rPB glitch. Most of the .5 improvement comes from the improved first glitch recovery. I think the 2nd to last turn could be improved though, but I couldn't seem to get a good angle with my landing. Note that this is a 21.9 lap 1 without going for glitch.
Music: Sonic the Hedgehog - Scrap Brain Zone Remix by Dummeh[MKWii TAS] New rBC3 Ramp Ultra StratTASLabz2013-05-26 | Hey guys, Malleo here! First, I'd like to thank Mastare (http://www.youtube.com/FelixGamingHD) for this glitch idea, and ultimately being the first one to pull it off. This glitch basically involves clipping the wall after riding on the yellow booster causing you to launch into the air. This could definitely save time if done non-stop and even more if done shroomless. We'll see in the near future.
Hi it's TasPlasma with my first upload to TASLabz! I was satisfied with this lap 1 time, a .23 off Remy's lap 1, my time was faster mainly because the shortcut to cannon was good and hitting the middle of the cannon saves extra time as well. I think there are still some improvements to be made, mainly snaking, as well as the trampoline. Remy's Lap 1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rJPzsnrqCu8
Music: Donkey Kong's Jungle Adventure[MKWii TAS] Cliff Village (No Shortcut) - 1:06.726 by AtekTASLabz2013-05-23 | Hi there! This is Atek! This is my latest Cliff Village TAS. I'd say the run is decent overall. It was my third attempt and much cleaner than my first attempt. I've added in lower jumps and improved the shrooms a bit. Actually, I'd say the whole thing is a lot better. The time of the ghost I'm racing is 1:07:647. Hope you enjoy!
Version of Cliff Village is the latest version ( v3.0, so the shortcuts and glitches previously present on this course no longer work).
