This one was from a Hyundai Super 286E and has a pleasing shape and insert and eject action that does not seem intuitive, but that’s how it works!
Mitsubishi Diamond Scan Multisync monitor AUM-1381A demonstration andys-arcade 2023-02-09 | Testing out most of the video modes that this multisync monitor is capable of displaying and switching between them on my testbench. This monitor is capable of displaying 15.6khz to 36khz Horizontal and 45 to 90hz vertical analogue or digital video signals. This means it can display MDA, CGA, EGA, VGA (up to 800x600) and composite video signals all in one nice compact monitor, perfect for your test bench!
15x CRT video display wall andys-arcade 2022-05-13 | Recent project of mine to use up the various CRT monitors I have been accumulating. This uses 11 video inputs from vhs, laserdisc, dvd, mpeg, camera etc. I have programmed some patterns to demo the work-in-progress wall. I need to expand the number of inputs with more sources, fix up some more displays, and program even more tricksy patterns. I may even add some scalers and get more fancy, and if I get more displays I might expand capabilities even further!

6 casette-tape changer-digitiser andys-arcade 2019-05-13 | I modified a Pioneer CT-M6R by adding an MP3 digitiser into the deck that starts/stops recording when cassettes load. It saves to a USB memory stick that pokes out of the rear of the case. It is mounted internally and is powered internally too. Theflashing green light means its recording, the steady light means its not. Its a little bit janky, but it works!

Computers And You (1972) 16mm educational film andys-arcade 2019-05-02 | This is a pretty bad recording of "Computers and You" made by Journal Films, an educational 16mm film with sound from 1972. Its sub-par because my equipment and setup is rudimentary, and the projector has problems that need repairing. This was a basic test just because I've had this film for a couple of years and have not been able to see the contents until now! The film is pretty red-shifted, software has tried to correct some of it, but its not ideal.

USS Cubera SS-347 submarine operations 1958 andys-arcade 2018-11-25 | 8mm film reel from around 1958, showing the handover to the new captain Herzog, some sea trials and then out on operations where it meets the USS Sea Leopard (SS-483). Ship to sub personnel transfer, gyrocopter mail delivery from an aircraft carrier, crew diving from the side for a swim. Awards ceremony at the end. Lots of things in here. This is from a time period where they were likely on an operation in the Caribbean where they were exercising anti-submarine warfare. Film graciously provided by the son of Captain Herzog.

Fixing the way-finding Z andys-arcade 2018-08-17 | Transport, installation, wind storms and other handling issues all take their toll on this custom glowing 'Z' that needs periodic repair. This is usually mounted up a 28ft tower that stands in our Burning Man camp. At night, even with all the blinky of the city going on, this is visible from pretty far out into the playa and helps to guide our wayward camp mates back home!
