Who, when my life is through?
Who will know the joy
I have known with you?
Who will touch your face?
Sleep in your embrace?
Who will take my place
When I sleep alone?
Who, when the day is done?
Who will hold the hand
Of my only one?
Who will climb the heights?
Finding in your nights
All those wild delights
Only I have known
You say you'll always love me
Time has another claim
Why do the gods above me
Play the cynical game?
Oh, life, isn't what it seems
Fickle as the wind
Fragile as a dream
When I end my years
Who will ease my pain?
Kiss away my tears?
And bury me again?
From her album "Dusty... Definitely" (1968)
Lyrics:
Well I felt something
Yeah something in the air
Like I'm in big trouble
Or you're in town
Cause my insides
Have been magnified
Five times my soul is dirty
I've been a bad bad girl
I want to take it all off
And my skin's too tight
And my head is full of what you fed me last night
You said nothing good
Ever comes when I call
That I'm headed for failure
And I should graciously take my fall
Ya I'm the horse I'm kicking
I am the lie I'm thinking
I am the drink I'm drinking
And I am the love I'm making
You have given me
Fuel and I'm gonna burn
This bridge we built
I don't need it anymore
Cause I'm a wicked good swimmer
Watch me dive
So drawn to turmoil
I'm so eager to fix
If you're lost and hopeless
I'm gonna fall in love with it
It must come from somewhere
Or I'm just out of luck
Cause I attract disaster
Like I've got a neon sign
And it's blinking through my forehead
And it reads "take me for a ride"
You said nothing good
Ever comes when I call
That I'm headed for failure
And I should graciously take my fall
Ya I'm the horse I'm kicking
I am the lie I'm thinking
I am the drink I'm drinking
And I am the love I'm making
You have given me
Fuel and I'm gonna burn
This bridge we built
I don't need it anymore
Cause I'm a wicked good swimmer
Watch me dive
You said nothing good
Ever comes when I call
That I'm headed for failure
And I should graciously take my fall
Ya I'm the horse I'm kicking
I am the lie I'm thinking
I am the drink I'm drinking
And I am the love I'm making
This ride has cost me
More than a dollar amount
This ride has cost me
A love that counts
This ride has cost me
A love that counts
But I felt something
Yeah something in the air
I think I'm in trouble
Or you're in town
So now what of her
The girl in the wings
She's been living her life
While I've been off making a mess of things
Will I ever be able
To make all these wrongs right
Will she forgive me?
Will she forgive me?
Will you forgive me?
Will you forgive me?
You said nothing good
Ever comes when I call
That I'm headed for failure
And I should graciously take my fall
Ya I'm the horse I'm kicking
I am the lie I'm thinking
I am the drink I'm drinking
And I am the love I'm making
Cause I feel something
Something in the air
I think I'm in trouble
Or you're in town
You're in town
You're in town
Lyrics:
You blow me right away
With the things that you do
You're Mrs Me and I'm Mr You
My all important everything
When nature has a way
In a way that we do
I know that you feel close to me too
My all important everything
Everything..
Everything..
Your looks are laughable
Unphotographable
But you're my
favourite work of art
Oh baby
I knew it right away
Looking over at you
You're Mrs Me and I'm Mr You
My all important everything
Everything..
Everything..
You're my all important
Everything..
Everything..
My all important everything..
Everything..
Everything..
Your itching skin, a craving from within
A being posessed from eternal rest
Salve me, salve me a wretched cry, Kyrie.
Libera Me, Domine.
Emancipate, eject the hate
A vice few avoid, and nobody craves
Sick, sickly thrill, you protest
And it strengthens it still.
From the ashes to the soil
I will watch your soil recoil
Requiem, requiem from the green eyed.

Lyrics:
Lorsqu'un jour tu m'as vu chanter
Tu étais fier et tu pleurais
Même les pères ne sont pas éternels
Un triste jour tu es parti
Depuis je traîne mon âme solitaire
Tu étais mon unique ami.
Lyrics:
Here in the light of late afternoon
Sun on the water, I'm thinking of you
How we've come too far
To be drifting apart
All this distance we're losing
I know it's my fault
But I think that I love you
I know that I do
I just need you
To help me, help me be good to you
Help me, help me be good to you
Help me, help me be good to you
I don't know why
I can't settle down
Something from my childhood
I still haven't found
And I don't wanna hurt you
With all my longings and my doubts
Just the way I need to feel free
I can see how it brings you down
Well I think that I love you
I know that I do
I just need you
To help me, help me be good to you
Help me, help me be good to you
Help me, please help me dad
Help me be good to you
Help me be good to you
Help me, help me be good to you
Help me, help me, help me, help me
Help me be good to you
Help me be good to you
Help me, help me be good to you
Help me, help me be good to you
Lyrics:
I am the biggest hypocrite
I've been undeniably jealous
I have been loud and pretentious
I have been utterly threatened
I've gotten candy for my self-interest
the sexy treadmill capitalist
heaven forbid I be criticized
heaven forbid I be ignored
I have abused my power forgive me
you mean we actually are all one
one one one one one one one
I've been out of reach and separatist
heaven forbid average (whatever average means)
I have compensated for my days
of powerlessness
I have abused my so-called power forgive me
you mean we actually are all one
one one one one one one one
did you just call her amazing?
surely we both can't be amazing!
and give up my hard earned status
as fabulous freak of nature?
I have abused my power forgive me
you mean we actually are all one
one one one one one one one
always looked good on paper
sounded good in theory

Lyrics:
Once living life was just
A hungry mouth to feed
West was West
And East was just
A dead end street
Berlin beat
Once...
Once uniforms were heaven sent
And glory bound
Do you prefer the front
Or shall I turn around
Shaky grounds
But all that counts
Is what you see in me
I am a woman
You are a man
You're not supposed to
Understand
Go on and take me
Take me as I am
But think of me
Think of me..
Once caught between
The shadow dancing of the day
And the sweltering charm
Of midnight cabaret
Straight or gay
Come what may
You'll find out who I am
I am a woman
and you are a man
You're not supposed to
Understand
Go on and take me
I know I turn you on
Take advantage of a friend
When all is said and done..
You know
It doesn't matter
Just how many walls will fall
Falling bricks will never
Bring a change at all
Divided souls
Are we
So put your trust in me
I am a woman
And you are a man
Why is that so hard to
Understand
Go on and take me
Take advantage of a friend
But think of me
When all is said and done..
Go on and take me
I know I turn you on
But think of me
When all is said
And done.
Lyrics:
Every one I know in town
Tells me you've been sleeping around
Looks like I am being used
And I'm not quite enough for you
Now I don't mean to be cruel
But I can do better than you
I can do better than you
I took your car and packed my bag
Don't you beg me to come back
I don't know what I'm looking for
But I don't need your lovin' no more
Now I don't mean to be cruel
But I can do better than you
I can do better than you
How could I've been such a fool,
Giving you my love
Did I forget the basic rule
"Never give it up!"
I don't know what I'm looking for
But I don't need your lovin' no more
Now I don't mean to be cruel
But I can do better than you
I can do better than you.....

Lyrics:
A cigarette that bears a lipstick's traces
An airline ticket to romantic places
And still my heart has wings
These foolish things remind me of you
A tinkling piano in the next apartment
Those stumblin' words that told you what my heart meant
A fairground's painted swings
These foolish things remind me of you
You came, you saw, you conquered me
When you did that to me
I knew somehow this had to be
The winds of March that make my heart a dancer
A telephone that rings but who's to answer?
Oh, how the ghost of you clings
These foolish things remind me of you
The scent of smouldering leaves the wail of steamers
Two lovers on the street who walk like dreamers
Oh how the ghost of you clings
These foolish things
Remind me of you
How strange, how sweet, to find you still
These things are dear to me
They seem to bring you so near to me
The sigh of midnight trains in empty stations
Silk stockings thrown aside dance invitations
Oh how the ghost of you clings
These foolish things
Remind me of you
Remind me of you
Remind me of you
Alison Moyet - Je Crois Entendre Encore
Je crois entendre encore
Caché sous les palmiers
Sa voix tendre et sonore
Comme un chant de ramiers.
Oh nuit enchanteresse
Divin ravissement
Oh souvenir charmant,
Folle ivresse, doux rêve!
Aux clartés des étoiles
Je crois encor la voir
Entr'ouvrir ses longs voiles
Aux vents tièdes du soir.
Oh nuit enchanteresse
Divin ravissement
Oh souvenir charmant
Folle ivresse, doux rêve!
Charmant Souvenir!
Charmant Souvenir!
(Album: Slowed Down)
hear me out
I'm not the one to take the garbage that you give
hear me out
told you the truth and you rewarded me this way
all my anger did shine through that day
couldn't help it
stick your teeth into my heart
you stick your teeth into my heart
hearts can mute brains
couldn't hold it
it's all in here
my friends and I study the attitude you teach
it's all in here
nothing matters and I've been drinking anyway
is jealousy the thing you want from me?
you see I'm sweating it out
stick your teeth into my heart
you stick your teeth into my heart
hearts can run dry
see i'm pouring it out
you go away but I'm getting nowhere
I, I who have nothing
I, I who have no one
Adore you, and want you so
I'm just a no one,
With nothing to give you but Oh
I Love You
You, you buy her diamonds
Bright, sparkling diamonds
But believe me, dear when I say,
That she can give you the world,
But she'll never love you the way
I Love You
She can take you anyplace she wants
To fancy clubs and restaurants
But I can only watch you with
My nose pressed up against the window pane
I, I who have nothing
I, I who have no one
Must watch you, go dancing by
Wrapped in the arms of somebody else
When darling it's I
Who Loves you
I Love You
I Love You
I Love You
A heart that's full up like a landfill
A job that slowly kills you
Bruises that won't heal
You look so tired and unhappy
Bring down the government
They don't, they don't speak for us
I'll take a quiet life
A handshake of carbon monoxide
No alarms and no surprises
No alarms and no surprises
No alarms and no surprises
Silent, silent
This is my final fit, my final bellyache with
No alarms and no surprises
No alarms and no surprises
No alarms and no surprises please
Such a pretty house, such a pretty garden
No alarms and no surprises (let me out of here)
No alarms and no surprises (let me out of here)
No alarms and no surprises please (let me out of here)
When I Go
words and music: Karin Bergquist
recording: Films For Radio
it makes a difference
when you walk through a room
with that worrisome smile
road weary perfume
but this isn't the place
and it isn't the time
for this beautiful delusion
that is robbing me blind
i want to know
i want to know
will it make a difference
when i go
it makes a difference
that i'm feeling this way
with plenty to think about
and so little to say
except for this confession
that is poised on my lips
i'm not letting go of God
I'm just losing my grip
i want to know
i want to know
will it keep you guessing
when i go
what is a love
if the love's not my own
this is not my home
this is lonely
but never alone
i just want to hold you
in my gaze for awhile
so i can remember
every line around your smile
then i want to know
i want to know
will it make a difference
when I go
