Walt Disney Animation 100 Years Exhibition: Telling Timeless Stories Stayf Draws 2023-06-04 | This year the Walt Disney Studios was founded 100 years ago. To celebrate that Disney has made several exhibitions. Yesterday I saw the exhibition Disney: Telling Timeless Stories…Go to this site for more information about the exhibition:https://forum.nl/nl/agenda/disney-telling-timeless-storiesThe exhibition is in Groningen in the Netherlands. It is a two hour drive from Amsterdam. I was flabbergasted by all of the original Disney art that was shown. If you are in the neighbourhood this exhibition is a must see. You can visit the exhibition until September 10th, 2023. I have collected a lot of books about the art of Disney, but to see the original art is a whole different ballgame. I am stil overwhelmed by the sheer volume of original art I saw. The exhibition is not setup chronologically, but in themes. It started out with myths and legends and showed concept art and backgrounds of Fantasia and Hercules. And Folklore with movies like the three little pigs and art of fairytales for silly symphonies and my favourite Mickey Mouse short. The Brave Little Taylor. I finally had the chance to see original art of my favourite Disney artists like Gustave Tengren, Mary Blair and Eyvind Earle. For those who can not visit this exhibitions I filmed the exhibition so you can enjoy it from your home. Procreate 5.3 Update Hover and New ColorDrop Stayf Draws 2023-01-14 | Procreate has a new update. Procreate 5.3. What is new? And is it worth it to download this new version?Welcome to Stayf Draws, I am Stefan de Groot and I will show you what’s new in Procreate 5.3To update to Procreate 5.3, you first need to update to iPadOS 16 or higherOtherwise you can not update Procreate 5.3It is a tradition that Savage Interactive will release its updates along with the new iPadOs or new features of the new iPad. Pro This time they integrated the hover function. Basically it is a feature you can hover over your screen and then already see the brush you have selected.I can not show you anything of the hover function, because I don’t have a new iPad Pro. I am showing you the Procreate 5.3.1 update on an iPad Pro 12.9 inch 5th generation from 2021.HoverSo what is the hover function?With the hover function you can now see a full-color preview before beginning your stroke, and see how you’re going to erase even before hitting the canvas. You can then adjust the size and opacity while seeing the full-color preview.With the new iPad Pro from 2022 you can now hover over your screen and see a full-color preview from your brushes, eraser or selection tool before you touch the screen with your Apple Pencil. I am showing you images that are available on the Procreate site. In order to create the brush cursor preview Savage interactive has upgraded the Brush cursor. When you select the brush cursor in Actions and the Prefs you see the difference. When you start drawing or painting, there is a bit of a lag in the performance of the brushes. Especially when you are sketching you will see a tiny point at the end of your stroke. Hopefully they will change that in a new update. Because it is a bit of a nuisance. New Color DropThe one new feature I can show you is the new Color Drop.This is a great upgrade to increase your workflow. Now you can keep dropping in colors with out sliding it from the color menu. First drag in a color . Then on the top a blue button appears Continue filling. When you press it you can continue dropping in coolers without dragging the coolers from the color menu. Just touch the sections you want to fill . In the top menu you will see Color Drop with a blue check mark. This means that continued Color drop is active. You can even choose different colours from the color menu and keep dropping in the colors. It acts more like the paint bucket of photoshop or other graphic apps. When you elect another tool the continued color drop will deactivate.ConclusionProcreate 5.3 is not a big update if you don’t have the new iPad Pro from 2022. I am not sure if I would like to use the hover function, but to me it is as useless as the features like face paint and The 3D paint function. I see that Procreate has a price increase of $ 4.00. It is now available on the AppStore for $ 15.99. Luckily you only have to buy Procreate once. All of the updates are for free. Now you can with the Stayf Walt Kelly Ink. It is an ink brush which is based on the Winsor & Newton Sable brush series 7 Number 2. With the ink brush you can ink with smooth thick and thin lines. The brush has a bit of a bleed. Digital ink brushes are most of the time too digital. This brush blends in better, creating an analog feel. Like you are inking on paper. When you using the tilt of your Apple Pencil the brush becomes a dry brush. So no need to grab another brush.
