Fun Facts:
1. Disneyland's Matterhorn is 147-feet tall, making it exactly 100 times shorter than the real 14,700-foot Matterhorn!

2. Matterhorn Bobsleds was the first thrill ride in Disneyland. In fact, it was the first roller coaster built by Arrow Development.

3.More than 800 gallons of paint were used to create a realistic look of heavy snowfall on the original Matterhorn!

4. Throughout the years, climbers have appeared during the day to scale the mountain, including Mickey Mouse!

5. Matterhorn Bobsleds is unique to Disneyland Park; you won't find another Matterhorn at any other Disney park!

Fun Facts:

1. Splash Mountain opened July 17th, 1989 in Disneyland and the earliest riders happened to be company executives. The executives were getting quite soaked from the ride, when it was supposed to be a light spray. Opening day was pushed back to redesign boats to hold fewer passengers.

2. Going far over budget, at $75 million, Splash Mountain was the most expensive projects that Walt Disney Imagineering had ever created. The original concept had the name Zip-a-Dee River Run, which was changed later to Splash Mountain.

3. Each drop is a little different depending on where you ride it. In Disneyland and Walt Disney World the drop is 52.5 feet while in Tokyo the drop is 60 feet tall! The drops occur at just over 40 miles per hour!

4. There are approximately 965,000 gallons of water on Splash Mountain!

1. Gadget’s Go Coaster first opened on January 24, 1993.

2. Gadget's Go Coaster is the only remaining Disneyland ride that was based on a Disney afternoon television series.

3. At the first turn to the left in the entrance queue, look for a hidden Mickey on the rock wall. There's another peeking out from the blueprints in the workshop.

1. When Walt Disney first conceived the ride, it was called "Children of the World"

2. When the ride first opened at Disneyland on May 28, 1966, Walt invited kids from around the world to come help dedicate it. They each brought a container of water from rivers and seas of their native lands and added it to the flume of the ride in Anaheim.

3. More than 256 million people have experienced the ride.

4. The famous song "Its A Small World (After All)" is the most played and most translated song in music history! Its plays around 1,200 times during a 16-hour operating day at a Disney Park.

5. Every holiday season at Disneyland, It's a Small World has an overlay featuring decorations, costumes, soundtracks, props and effects celebrating the holidays. This tradition started on November 27, 1997!
