Constant Creation Mumbo 2020-05-09 | Filming projects take a lot of time to setup, and unless you are doing consistent client work they are often decently spread out. For me recently, I have found shooting tiny 'Micro projects' has really helped keep my creativity alive, and given me a chance to stretch my creative legs. The great thing about shooting tiny personal filming projects is that you can make mistakes, experiment wildly and completely fail without it being a huge issue. ON THE MAT - Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Mumbo 2020-01-18 | ON THE MAT - Brazillian Jiu Jitsu. BJJ is a sport I have recently taken up, and it has had a hugely positive influence on my life. This is a BJJ short film that we shot in the form of a spec commercial. We filmed this to be as fast paced and as choppy as possible, with a gritty colour grade, added grain and contrasty cinematic lighting. For the past 50 years, he has sustained himself along with his wife and 10 children through fishing. Living in a small hut on the edge of the ocean, he wakes up early in the morning to take out his little fishing boat to catch the days food, any excess is sold at the market. Our mini documentary that we shot on the newly released Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K follows Desiderio through his average day in the Life. The Pocket Cinema Camera 4K was the obvious choice for a shoot like this, as we were working in challenging environments, with no access to mains electricity, where mobility and keeping your kit light was essential. Certain locations (Such as Desiderio's tiny and mildly unstable fishing boat) would have been nearly impossible to shoot in with conventional cinema cameras, but the size and weight of the Pocket 4K meant that we were able to capture it, and the camera doesn't compromise when it comes to quality. Throughout the process of filming I was very grateful for the dynamic range, as the bright Philippines sun could have caused issues for other cameras, and once we got the footage into post and started working on the colour, the amount of data available really started to show. Mark 3: The Forgotten Supra Mumbo 2018-08-19 | In my opinion, the Mark 3 supra is the coolest of the Supra family. The boxy styling, pop up headlines and old school analogue drivers feel makes it an icon to me. And I feel it is definitely overlooked by it's more popular, and more curvaceous sibling the MK4. This is a film about my friends MK3, shot at 4:30am on a Friday morning. I tried to capture the rawness of the driving experience by keeping everything fast paced.
