TomBobBlenderThis video was my submission to STARMEN.NET's PK Tube'N Earthbound Contest 10 years ago today. Through the amazing community at Starmen.net and Fangamer, I grew to love this franchise and has become my favorite game series. I have completed MOTHER 3 a total of 36 times (so far) and EarthBound 24 times (so far). I've played through EarthBound Beginnings 7 times (so far). I decided to reupload this video with a few new musical decisions as well as a higher quality video output. I hope you enjoy it!

I recently had the privilege of being interviewed for his video about the history of Mario Paint, including my unique timeline with the game, especially my content here on YouTube. It was a tremendous joy contributing my experience, and I was more than happy to recreate the theme song. He creates high-quality content, producing fantastic documentaries that really dive deep into the history of video games. Do check out his content!
I discovered this catchy tune while playing through New Horizons and figured Mario Paint would recreate its charm quite well. I hope you feel the same way!

At the time of this particular video upload was my 10-Year Anniversary of uploading Mario Paint videos to YouTube. It was a very rough start for me in the beginning, lacking any decent video recording software on my computer and any fancy editing tricks. I also did not think to use multiple takes of Mario Paint music and piece them together in order to create longer songs, which explained the weird ending notes on my original video. Also, in my earlier videos, I wanted to keep the music in their original key, like this particular track in A minor. That didn’t last very long, since Mario Paint was unable to use chromatics. Transposition was pretty much inevitable at that point.
What I’ve uploaded today is a video that contains the rest of the song in the mindset of 10 years ago if I had written it at that time. I tried to emulate my compositional style at the time, which has evolved over the years to create an authentic sound.
Thanks for being such a dedicated viewer of my videos! I love making these!

It was arranged in the Super NES 1992 video game, Mario Paint.
A lot of gamers may not know this, but Super Mario Maker makes an incredible amount of references to the Mario Paint game, borrowing assets from it such as icons, music and mini-games. One of the features I was deeply hoping for in this game was an updated music editor, though it doesn’t seem to be a reality. I’m hoping one day, Nintendo decides to either release a DLC/update to include it as part of Super Mario Maker or as a separate game entirely. Either way, I am pleased to see that the spirit of Mario Paint is still in sight for Nintendo.

It was arranged using the music editor found in the Super NES game Mario Paint, which was released in 1992. I originally started this arrangement the day the series was announced on the Wii U Eshop, but put it off due to writers block and other musical issues. I found it increasingly difficult to replicate the track in Mario Paint; the atmosphere specifically. Luckily, I found some confidence in the end, and I hope you enjoy it! Also, viewing at 1.25x is quite awesome! The soundtrack was composed by David Wise, Eveline Fischer and Robin Beanland.
I was overwhelmed with the amount of fan art dedications to him, and his remembrance on social media using #thanksiwata and #thankyouiwata. I generated a slideshow video with some of my favorites. For my music selection, I chose the Ending Credits to Mario Kart 64, a theme which pulls my emotions in many directions at once; happiness, sadness and, most of all, a celebration.
The gaming industry was so lucky to have someone as deeply dedicated and motivated to bring new and exciting ways to enjoy video games. His franchises were rooted into the bottom of gamers’ hearts, and everyone could easily relate their life and personality to them.
I hope you enjoyed this video. Smiles and tears.Cleyra’s Settlement from Final Fantasy IX on Mario PaintTomBobBlender2014-11-20 | This is “Cleyra’s Settlement” from Final Fantasy IX. This particular arrangement has gone through several revisions, but in the end, I think my ears liked it the way it is currently presented; simple! ;) I hope you enjoy it!
This particular song is very hard to find anywhere, but I always loved its simple, beautiful theme. This video was originally uploaded on March 5th, 2011 but after several attempts trying to upload it, YouTube managed to mangle it every time, reducing it down to a 'less-than-one-second' video. I left it up and challenged everyone to try and guess what song it was. Someone eventually figured it out; the amazing SatoshiLyish!
While there is quite a dedicated fanbase for this particular game, it never did settle with me. The music, however, is super catchy and fun, which makes it a perfect match with Mario Paint's wackiness.
This is video is dedicated to my fellow Yoshi's Island fans: CrispyYoshi, Foxtrot200, jbizzo49, shipguy55 and lizmol20.
