Another -40 run, as to make it a little more interesting. The only other thing to do with this is either off meta runs, which generally get very low interest on the channel, or speedruns, which I find personally very boring. -40 isn't too much more interesting either, but it increases the challenge a bit more than the usual GM runs. And while yes, it's not a true -40 due to scaling, weapons and whatnot, this is about as close as you can possibly get. There's no way anybody could get to a true 1800 without never playing the account, as you'd need to have 1800 gear entirely with a +0 bonus and you'd level up during the run itself, or a full set of 1790 gear with a 10 bonus and never level up while playing. Neither are realistic, so this is as close as you can get.

This seems to be a guaranteed drop at tier 7, although there have been a few reports that it hasn't been guaranteed for a few people (I haven't seen any video proof though). Additionally, people have reported it dropping from tier 5, but i haven't seen any proof of that either.
I also tested 4 Deep Dives before doing this one: 2x Tier 1 Deep Dives, and 2x Tier 3 Deep Dives (both with a Pressure Trial), none of which gave the Exotic Catalyst. While there's still a chance lower tiers could be up to RNG (as 4 runs from one person is a small sample size), I wanted to try and do some testing that it wasn't available from other tier levels before just completing the Tier 7 and getting the catalyst. A lot of people were very hasty and rushed to post that it was guaranteed by a tier 7 only - and while that turned out to be the case, there was nowhere near enough time to properly test that it couldn't come from other sources first. So I wanted to at least test a bit before making any conclusions.
Outside of that, it's a lot easier this week for the most part, as Attrition is a great modifier and helps with healing on a setup like this. I wiped on the boss fight as I didn't realise the Ogre could shoot through the floor when underneath them, and it caught me off guard. So I just cut that out. Boss fight was also painfully slow, as I didn't want to wipe again.
If you want to see a full flawless run, you can see the one from a few weeks back with worse modifiers: youtu.be/L7EIXFuzapM

As per the April 6, 2023 TWAB, I'll no longer be having individual Destiny 2 cutscenes on the channel. I know a lot of people came here for when their game crashed or had issues playing them. I was as quick as possible to have them up for that purpose, while keeping them spoiler-free. But they seem to be uploading all of them to their own channel now, and have requested that people leave it to them. I'm assuming the seasonal story compilations like this are still fine, along with including the cutscenes within those. So I will continue posting these for the foreseeable future, unless Bungie request otherwise.

I'm mostly posting this to see how interest is going forward for -40 power runs. When they first came out, there was a bit of interest, but it quickly fell off. Largely due to the fact they're more or less similar to regular -25 runs, and the difference in both damage dealt and received isn't too much. Not to mention this is one of the easier nightfalls, but it will give me a good feel going forward if they're worth continuing with or not. The run itself was a bit sloppy too, quite a few missed grenades, but it still got the job done.
Either way, the next few weeks will probably be a bit quiet, as there's not too much else to do during the season. I'll probably redo a few dungeon runs and see if I can get anything interesting going with those (as I skipped redoing most of the dungeons last season). I'll also be heavily covering Remnant 2 when it omes out in 2 weeks, so the Destiny content will be on hold for a little while at that point.

The season of arc is here once again!
As has become the tradition for these videos, here's a place I can put my thoughts on the current state of GMs and difficulty in the game. That being said, my thoughts from last season haven't really changed too much this season: youtu.be/Dm6Iof0Ro_w
If anything, this season has further reinforced the idea that I don't know what place in the game GMs are meant to occupy. If they're intended to remain at their current difficulty, that's fine (as I've also explained in detail before). But there's no noticeable difference between master and grandmaster, so it makes them feel quite redundant as a result. More often than not, master nightfalls can be more challenging due to the modifiers, and the 5 power level difference changes almost nothing.
There's also been no innovation to grandmasters since their release 11 seasons ago, and repeating what are mostly the same set of nightfalls each season doesn't feel great. While I'd also like to commend the additions of battlegrounds and revamps of old strikes, I don't think battlegrounds fit very well as nightfalls at all. The revamps have potential, although the Lake of Shadows one was done extremely poorly. The Arms Dealer was actually enjoyable thinking back on it, outside of the tedious threshers.
I feel like going forward, one of two things need to happen so that GMs have their own unique place. Either innovation, through new ideas or increased difficulty. Or the other option, that legend and master difficulties are changed, ideally with their forced handicaps being removed entirely. Their efforts to "bring challenge back to Destiny" in theory I agreed with, but as I already said before; when increasing the lower difficulty levels and leaving the highest difficulties alone, nobody wins. It only frustrates the more casual player, while doing nothing to appease the more hardcore player. So I feel like something has to give.
All of that being said, outside of the nightfall landscape, I do feel like Deep Dives were an excellent addition to the game. If their rewards were matching for the effort involved, I feel like they're a great start for how content and escalating challenge could be. A little more fleshed out, and even higher tiers of rewards and difficulty (that are actually rewarding and worth the effort), they'd be brilliant. Maybe outside of the awkward difficulty in random groups and activating Pressure Trials.
The exotic mission I personally felt was great from a challenge perspective to solo, while also being manageable for groups (especially now that strategies are evolving). I think if not for Deep Dives and the exotic mission, I'd be left feeling quite apathetic towards the game and difficulty as a whole. But it was a nice surprise, and leaves me a little more hopeful going forward.
Lastly, the GM selector node should not be on a knockout system. I understand they did it so people would stop farming their favourite GM when the week aligned, but it would be nice to be able to do any GM you want, at any time.

I'm not sure if I'll keep posting these in following weeks, unless something major happens. Otherwise it'll just be Veil Containment dialogue, and I'm not sure if there's much reason to post those individually.

A bit more of a relaxed run this time around, taking it a bit slower as I've done it so many times at this point, and I didn't want to wipe to something easily avoidable and have to do it again. A lot of people asked before about Crown and using Chaos Reach instead of Stormtrance. The simple answer is that I just wanted the regen benefits from Crown, while also having a ranged super option. Using Fallen Sunstar doesn't work as well here due to all the awkward terrain from the traces to get stuck on. Just The Disgraced to go now, and after that I'll have the usual compilation with my thoughts on the game and GMs.

An actually challenging solo encounter, which was a very nice surprise! Unfortunately it came at a time where I haven't been playing much at all, so the gameplay isn't the best - but I still managed to work out a nice approach which should be helpful for most to use.
If you're near the area at the entrance the boss doesn't push or move as much, so you can DPS pretty freely while playing solo. The boss launched me there one time, so it was a happy accidental find. The usual Synthoceps and Hammer build to deal with everything else, and using Forerunner as it's great for dealing with Tormentor enemies, easy to aim with lots of ammo, which is commonly used for the first encounter in Root of Nightmares.
I was originally running double special, but found I ran into ammo problems more often than not. Having one special and one primary worked well, as you weren't splitting the bricks when picking them up, and it lets you stagger the Phalanxes a bit better. I also tested Loreley, Lament & Double Slugs to begin with... that was terrible.
I personally had a lot of fun with this anyway, and I'm sure with time it'll become easier as approaches are learned. The only downside is that it was tied to fishing, but outside of that I'm pretty happy with Deep Dives as a whole.
Builds are shown at the end of the video. I'll have a collectibles guide up shortly too. I'll post the final 2 GMs later today / tomorrow. Along with a "week 7 story" (even though the finale already happened, there's still some extra dialogue this week).

Taking a little break from the Solo Deep Dive to do this. Not sure how long that'll take, so I figured I'd quickly do this and do it again after. I have a decent strat and have the boss below a third, but I need to refine it more to be able to beat the timer. Maybe there's a way or spot to make the boss DPS more reliable, along with getting more ammo to drop. For now here's the GM this week though, very messy at the start areas as I was distracted, but it's an easy enough one anyway.

I probably should've done this earlier in the week, but here it is regardless. It's a very annoying "strike" to learn at first, particularly the motes and first phase for the Aspects of Savathun. The rest is pretty straight forward, but those two took a little bit of extra testing and practice on how to properly approach them. After having learned it though, I don't think it'll be too bad for repeat clears.
Glaives have also always been very good at negating damage and in situations like this, but outside of that I've never liked how they felt, which is why I haven't bothered using them. They definitely have a place in the game, and particularly in GMs, but they're still just not for me.

More perma-invis play to learn the Nightfall, how fun!
Outside of that, battlegrounds don't really work too well as Nightfalls imo. There's so many tanky enemies that take ages to defeat, with constantly respawning enemies, so it feels tedious all the time.
Difficulty-wise, the only tricky part is the Projections. But once you figure out how to approach them and keep out of range, they're not too bad. It's a bit annoying trying to see in that realm due to the lighting and it somewhat obscuring the arc blasts. I also had the game crash twice in phase 3, so that was great. I'll probably do it on other classes throughout the week too.

Not the best loadout for this, but it's something different and gets the job done anyway. I went with the Warsat cheese as the Warsat section is just a waste of time, and the earlier run this week I did without using that, so why not speed it up a little bit this time.

As I've said before in the past, titles and videos like this are something you'll rarely ever see from me. It is only in the rare case that I think a game is truly worthy of it, that I'll make a dedicated video or title in such a manner. This is a game that I cannot rate highly enough. The video includes clips from my overall Apolcalyse playthrough, defeating all of the bosses and encounters no damage. That video can be found here: youtu.be/lwMooz2F2l0
It very much went under the radar, and even I was a whole year late to actually discovering it. Once I did though, I absolutely loved it. It's mostly referred to "Dark Souls with Guns", and while that's a somewhat accurate description, I'd say it's much more than that.
The combat is both challenging and engaging, and there's a multitude of different builds, weapons, bosses and playstyles you can adapt. There's so many different skills you can progress in the game, that even after so many hours you'll still be able to progress more. The gunplay feels great, which is something I feel a lot of games tend to get wrong these days. Each playthrough will also be unique, as other than a few set encounters and the world order, the game is randomised with the bosses and zones you'll face. It makes for a very fresh and rewarding experience each time, with loads of content to sink into.
Challenge-wise, it's incredible. While the lower difficulties aren't too bad, and you also have the option of co-op, when you step it up to Apocalyse difficulty it can be brutal. There's enough enemy and boss variety to constantly keep you on your toes, and a lot of the bosses feel very rewarding to overcome. So if you're looking for a challenge, this is definitely up your alley. If not, the lower difficulties and co-op options will also be good for you.
Overall I can't really give this game enough justice through a short video alone, but I hope it did a good job of quickly showing some of the variety, gameplay and bosses you can encounter in this game. There's so much more the game has to offer though, and a lot of that I cannot convey through words or video alone.
Remnant 2 will be releasing next month on July 25, which is my most anticipated game of the year by far. I'll be covering it extensively on the channel when it does release. You can find more info here: remnantgame.com/en
The song used is also from in-game, as part of the theme of Rhom and some of the bosses on there.

How to completely prove yourself wrong about Fallen Sunstar in one video. Although to be fair, it's only beneficial in situations like this where there's loads of enemies and not awkward terrain for Ionic Traces to get stuck on. When you don't have those things to contend with, it's decent.

I did some runs with Fallen Sunstar as everyone is constantly raving about how great it is, although I was never huge on it personally. I wiped a couple of times to the double Champions at various points, as they're the only threat in the boss fight and the super wasn't consistently clearing them as I wanted. So I swapped to Geomags and got it first try after that, as it suited my approach better here. The ability uptime really wasn't too much different either. I much prefer Crown of Tempests or Geomags personally, but each to their own I guess.
I also forgot to change the mods on my helmet. Ideally it would be with Kinetic Siphon & Arc Siphon though.

Outside of that, it's kind of strange that you can fail one of the initial objectives and still get teleported to the boss. Usually the higher difficulties on these wipe you in that instance, but not here. So realistically, you could just AFK the first zone entirely, teleport to the boss, and then do only the boss fight to get the triumph. I figured I'd make it a little bit more interesting by at least completing 2 of the 3 jobs in the first area. This build is great for the first job, but not great for the second. Maybe on a different rotation or a different setup to be able to melt the Wizards, you'd have enough time to complete the third. But this way completes the triumph, and at least it isn't 6 minutes of sitting AFK.
Boss fight itself is just a lot of enemies all at once. Arbalest is great to deal with the shield. After that it's just about taking your time and staying alive. it could've been a lot faster, but didn't want to waste time by wiping because I wanted to shave a few minutes off. I might try other classes and rotations later on, but I'll settle on this for now.

I was going to do this last night, but with the servers being down for 3 hours it threw off my schedule and I left it until today. It's a pretty sloppy run tbh, and a lot slower than ideal. I took my time on a lot of places as I haven't really played for the last week, so this was me getting familiar with things again and it definitely shows. Acolyte also made a brilliant play and took out my sparrow too, so the swamp part was slower as I haven't done that in ages. I'll probably run all 3 classes this week.

00:00 - Parade Master
01:36 - Mad Donkey
03:49 - Scrapped Watchman
My thoughts on the game are also below (it's the same as I detailed on the Scrapped Watchman boss fight).
Any reservations I had about the combat in this game, were pretty quickly resolved after fighting the final boss boss for me personally. I think the 3 bosses they chose to begin with and have in the demo were a great choice to showcase the different playstyles required.
After the first boss (Parade Master), I was left thinking that dodging was pretty much useless and that it was going to be a completely parry focused game. I felt that it could use some changes, but I wanted to see how it played out.
The second boss (Mad Donkey), showed that the game was more than just a parry focus, and baiting out certain attacks would be optimal in some cases. In fact, the timing for parries on that boss was pretty unpredictable at times, and while possible, baiting certain attack patterns would be the safest play.
This final boss (Scrapped Watchman), showed that all 3 could be implemented to play with. You can go pure parry focus on this boss, or you can dodge most of the attacks too. On top of that, baiting out certain attacks and using movement to dodge them all will work well, which is what I used here. All of those approaches are common for these sort of games, and I'm glad it's not limited to the one playstyle fits all for every boss.
The only other real issues I had was both finding attacks very hard to anticipate, and backstabs being very unreliable. I think the first is probably a positive, as it's both by design of the game, and the nature of the puppet enemies moving in ways you otherwise wouldn't expect. With familiarity and more time on the game, I think it was be a non-issue. The backstabs however, particularly on Mad Donkey, were very unreliable. You'd see the indicator and hit the R1, but still it wouldn't work most of the time. Ultimately though, it's a minor issue.
After defeating the final boss you also get a preview of the skills and perks you can unlock. One of those is to enhance dodging, so I'd think that would further alleviate any issues on that front. Overall, I'm pleasantly surprised by the demo, and my enjoyment of the game grew the more I played it.

Any reservations I had about the combat in this game, were pretty quickly resolved after fighting this boss for me personally.
After defeating this boss you also get a preview of the skills and perks you can unlock. One of those is to enhance dodging, so I'd think that would further alleviate any issues on that front. Overall, I'm pleasantly surprised by the demo, and my enjoyment of the game grew the more I played it.

So for this one, as I played first boss more aggressively and parry focused, I wanted to test out a more passive and dodging/movement focused approach. I think from doing this fight no damage, I learned a lot about the strengths and weaknesses of the combat in this game. There's a few things I feel that can be improved, but there's also a lot that I've enjoyed. I'll finish the demo first before giving my thoughts on it all, so I can have a complete idea of the whole demo to see the full picture, and I'll put all of my thoughts in the last video.

A promising game that I've been following and looking forward to since they first announced it. So far it's quite fun to play. It's very similar to Bloodborne as a lot of people have said, but I'd argue it benefits more from playing like Sekiro when taking advantage of the perfect guard mechanics. When combining both the Sekiro-style deflecting, and Bloodborne-style stagger mechanics, it can seemingly overpower the boss fight. We'll see how it holds up on future bosses.
While this boss fight wasn't the most difficult, and I beat it fairly quickly, there's still challenge and unpredictability in the game. Mostly because of the enemy puppet design, they can move in ways that would otherwise seem unnatural. I'll upload the remaining boss fights from the demo over the next day or so, and consider if I want to upload a single video for the full demo.

After the annoying run that was posted yesterday, I wanted to run it back with a better clear while also getting the flawless triumph along the way (and actually getting the proper rewards this time). This is actually a decent challenge to do solo flawless while getting all of the rewards. Even on the Titan build which is incredibly strong, there's a lot that can go wrong. Some of the line-ups on the 3rd round are pretty much outright impossible to complete solo, especially so if you have the terrible Pressure Trial starting where you need to capture the 5 lights. I didn't want to risk it on the boss fight either, so I took it very slow and saved my super incase I needed it - otherwise it would've been faster.
I'm also curious as to what the remaining triumphs will be. As the Pressurized Deep was able to do be done this week, it would suggest there's likely no extra depths or pressure trials to further increase the difficulty. But maybe there's another thing that will unlock later in the season. Either way, happy enough to get this out of the way now, and a better clear than yesterday's error-coded mess.
As I also explained in the other video, the trials and enemies that spawn can be random, but ultimately they all count towards the same reward tiers: youtu.be/ujLzun2wjpY

Well, this run was an absolute mess. The servers are terrible at the moment, so I had to stick with what I could. I had multiple error codes during the boss fight, many of which caused me to wipe, and this time I luckily got to stick through 2 of them where it didn't completely reset everything. Unfortunately, that also meant my rewards were lost and reset to Tier 1, despite the activity itself saying it was Tier 7. Normally this is something I'd just redo due to all the error codes, but given my time constraints and not knowing when the servers will fix themselves, I'll just leave this run up so people can laugh at my frustration during the boss fight and terrible annoyed play as a result. It should still serve decently for all of the locations anyway, which is the main purpose of these.

As per the April 6, 2023 TWAB, I'll no longer be having Destiny 2 cutscenes on the channel.

Aquarium Vivarium triumph: Find all unique plants and flora throughout your Deep Dives and add them to the H.E.L.M. aquarium.
To note: All 3 zones are only unlocked after progressing the week 3 story. You then load into the "Deep Dives" playlist. At the beginning, you'll be able to get Twilight Plant and Flora. After that, you must successfully complete the combat encounters to progress to the next section. If you fail, or run out of time, you'll be teleported to the final boss. So the Midnight and Abyss sections will only be available upon the successful completion of their combat encounter prior.

REPRISED RAID:
...coming soon!
I made a similar compilation video last year, and I mentioned there that I'd probably revisit it with an update in a year or so - here's that update. Since the last video, there's been a few more encounters to be done in the older raids, such as Sanctified Mind in Garden of Salvation, and Gatekeepers in Vault of Glass. Other than that, there's been the introduction of King's Fall, which saw only Golgoroth being possible so far. There's also Root of Nightmares, where the entire raid is possible. I'll also probably continue this trend after The Final Shape and the second raid that comes out there.
As per the previous video ( youtu.be/dw_b15ynfRA ), I only included one variation of every encounter - as there's multiple different methods and strategies that are applicable, along with normal vs master or prestige. Similarly, I didn't include things that were possible but never completed before they were removed, or runs that were only possible via external methods. The only focus was to show every individual encounter that's been completed one way or another, and not every single way of doing them or on every class.
Either way, I'm happy to be able to have another video with every single solo raid encounter in the game so far. Hopefully there will more enjoyable solo encounters in the future, ideally some that don't have any Colossus in them with annoying slows, or just aren't RNG grindfests.
I was going to upload this towards the end of the season, but I figured now would probably be more suitable while there's still interest in the game, and it's unlikely (but not impossible) that any new encounters will be possible before the end of the season. I also didn't have a video to fill the weekend, so it fits in nicely.
I've also had a lot of questions about Diablo 4, but I won't be playing that due to the time investment required. I will however be playing and uploading Remnant 2 when that comes out, along with Lies of P, and other games that are similar. Hopefully they end up both being great. I'll also have a Solo Flawless Master Ghosts of the Deep dungeon up at some point soon. I've had no time in the last week to be able to sit down for the over an hour doing that, but whenever I do I'll get it done.
Anyway, thanks for watching as always, and for all of the support over the years!

This seemed to be helpful last week, so I figured I'd do the same again this week. Not "flawless" as I wiped once on the boss to an enemy spawning and instantly wiping me, but the rest of the run should still be helpful anyway. Interesting to see that this extra section gets added on to the first one, and I'm assuming next week we'll have another one entirely. Gets a bit close on the second pressure trial, so I'd imagine the third will be even tougher.

And that wraps up the 3 classes now! All 3 have a very strong build that will do enough damage to 4-5 phase each of them, as you can see. This is essentially the same loadout and approach I used for the Hunter, but instead of punching the first boss I used Lament. The final boss Riskrunner was nice with all the arc damage there, and the same approach as using the Bipod rocket to keep enough bow ammo to swap heavy weapons. It turns out the Leviathan's Breath was actually a good choice in the end, even if I was horrible with it on my first Hunter clear when the dungeon first came out and questioned my choice at the time.
Outside of that, there's just Master left to do, which I'll get around to at some point. Whenever I get the exotic I'll probably make a catalyst guide. There's also 3 phasing each of the bosses which is possible right now, but I don't think they differ enough from the 4 phase to run it back for those. I think a 2 phase at some point could be possible, but that'll require being closer to 1830, or some other broken build that hasn't been found yet. Either way, happy enough to have the 3 classes done now, and to be able to show builds for all 3 that are decent for damage in this dungeon. Best of luck to anyone who's going for their solo runs.
