Elden Ring Dodge Roll Input Lag Tino 2022-02-27 | Side by side comparison showing the difference in dodge roll animation delay between Elden Ring and Dark Souls 3. Recorded on Playstation 5. (Both characters have the lightest equipment burden rating/ quickest mobility)I hope this video demonstrates that:1. For both games, the "input" for the dodge roll occurs when the O button is released and not when it is initially pressed. (I am tapping O as quick as I can in both slides; pay close attention to when my thumb lifts off the O button)2. There is a perceptible delay between the release of the O button and the start of the dodge roll animation; this delay is greater in Elden Ring than it is in Dark Souls 3 despite identical inputs. (i-frames do not register until the animation begins, so that minor lag can make or break a boss battle.)For those of you who have noticed that the dodge roll feels off from previous Souls games, this is because of input lag, and not because you're not quick-tapping fast enough. The purpose of this video is to raise awareness of this issue in the hopes it can be eventually patched, and also for my own sanity feeling like the only one frustrated by this lol.Thanks for watching, please share the video if you agree and think it's worth getting fixed.
