Ingredients:
- 2 (7-ounce) packages shirataki fettuccini noodles
- 18 medium-size, wild-caught shrimp
- 2 pastured eggs, beaten
- 1 ½ tbsp. Brain Octane oil, divided (shop.bulletproof.com/collections/brain-octane-oil)
- 2 tbsp. coconut aminos
- 1 lime, juiced and divided
- 1 tsp. cashew butter
- 1 clove garlic, pressed or finely minced
- ¼ tsp. crushed red pepper
- ¼ cup cilantro
- 2 green onions, chopped
- Sea salt
- 4 cashews, crushed (optional garnish)
Instructions:
1. Prepare shirataki noodles according to package directions (rinse for 15 seconds, then boil for 2 minutes in a pot of boiling water, then drain the noodles and place them in a dry skillet over medium heat and “dry roast” them for 1 minute). Set aside.
2. In a small bowl, mix ¾ tablespoon Brain Octane oil, coconut aminos, ½ of the lime juice, cashew butter, garlic and crushed red pepper. Set aside.
3. Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add remaining ¾ tablespoon Brain Octane Oil, shrimp and a pinch of sea salt. Cook for approximately 1 ½ to 2 minutes each side.
4. Move the shrimp to the side of the skillet and add the beaten eggs to the open area of the skillet. Quickly cook the eggs to a soft scramble, about 1 minute.
5. Add shirataki noodles, sauce mixture, cilantro and green onions to skillet with shrimp and eggs. Toss everything together and mix well. Heat until warmed through.
6. To finish, drizzle the rest of the fresh lime juice and remaining Brain Octane oil over entire skillet, taste for seasoning and add sea salt and/or more crushed red pepper if desired. Garnish with optional crushed cashews and serve.

Ingredients:
- 300 grams frozen organic mixed berries
- 1 tsp. gelatin powder mixed with 2-3 tsp water (try Collagelatin: shop.bulletproof.com/collections/collagen-protein/products/collagelatin-net-wt-16-oz)

Instructions:
1. Mix the gelatin and water together in a small dish. Set aside and allow the gelatin to bloom (thicken) for 1 minute.
2. Add the frozen berries, bloomed gelatin and vanilla into a saucepan and bring to a simmer.
3. Simmer the berries until the liquid starts to evaporate. This will take roughly 15-20 minutes.

Instructions:

3. Add chicken, garlic, dried oregano and Himalayan pink salt to skillet and cook for approximately 8-10 minutes or until fully cooked, stirring occasionally. Remove chicken from skillet leaving and set aside.
4. Lower heat under skillet to medium and add lemon juice to deglaze pan. Next add butter and stir until melted. Then whisk in Collagelatin to finish.
5. Add noodles and chicken back to skillet and toss to combine.
6. Serve topped with lemon zest and a garnish of fresh oregano.

Ingredients:
- 3 cups almond flour

Ingredients:
- 1 cup organic sushi rice
- 1 ½ cups water
- Pinch of Himalayan pink salt
- 2 tbsp. grass-fed butter
- 1 tsp. raw honey
- 3 tbsp. coconut oil
Instructions:
1. Bring water to a boil.
2. Rinse rice well in cold water and drain.
3. Add rice and coconut oil, reduce heat to low, cover, and cook for 20 minutes.
4. Remove rice from heat and immediately transfer it to the fridge. Let rice cool in the fridge for 1 hour, or longer. You can portion out the rice before putting it in the fridge so that it cools more quickly. (Think chunks shaped like your thumb, like you’d use for nigiri sushi.)
5. When rice is cool, set oven to warm.

Ingredients:
- 1 cup unsweetened coconut butter

Ingredients:
- 6 pastured eggs, separated
- 1/2 cup grass-fed Bulletproof Collagen Protein
- Grass-fed butter or ghee (to grease pan)
Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Use middle rack and remove any racks above as bread will expand while baking.
2. Generously butter a loaf pan/dish with grass-fed butter. (Side note: If possible, use a ceramic pan. The bread will cook evenly without sticking, and a ceramic pan won’t leach chemicals like Teflon cookware will.)
3. Beat 6 egg whites until stiff peaks form – a hand mixer on high works well. Really beat the whites until the peaks are VERY stiff. If you don’t beat them enough, they’ll collapse when you add the collagen protein and egg yolks, and you’ll end up with a Styrofoam-like concoction. Yuck.
4. Add ½ cup of Bulletproof Collagen Protein and the 6 yolks. Blend gently on low just until fully incorporated. The batter will be fluffy.
5. Pour batter into prepared dish and place in oven.
6. Bake for 40 minutes.
7. Remove and allow to cool completely. The loaf will sink to a normal height.
8. Once fully cooled, release from dish, slice and serve.
9. Leftovers will keep in the fridge for a few days.
Makes 1 loaf
Reheating recommendation: Heat a skillet to medium-high and add ghee or grass-fed butter. Sear bread slices in skillet until lightly toasted on each side, about 30 seconds per side. Do not overheat.
Use heat-stable collagen over whey protein, and keep in mind that oxidized cholesterol from the cooked egg yolks can cause a little inflammation, so don’t eat this every day. Stick to every few days, if you can control yourself. 😉

Ingredients:
- 3 1/2 pounds pastured beef short ribs or beef shank
- 2 teaspoons ground turmeric
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 2 teaspoons ground cumin
- 2 teaspoons ground coriander
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 cup cilantro stems, coarsely chopped
- Optional: 4 cloves of garlic (crushed), 1 teaspoon chipotle powder and 2 teaspoons paprika
Instructions:
1. In a small bowl, combine dry ingredients.
2. Add short ribs to slow cooker and lightly coat each piece in the spice mix.
3. Sprinkle cilantro stems and optional garlic over the ribs. Carefully add water without rinsing spices off the meat.
4. Cook on low for 6-7 hours, or until it is falling apart. Check the meat at 6 hours and cook longer if it is not tender enough.
5. If desired, drain cooking liquid into a small saucepan and reduce for 10-15 minutes over medium heat.
6. Return liquid to the crock pot. Using two forks, pull the meat apart and shred the beef.
7. Serve hot with guac, silverbeet leaves as a taco, roasted pumpkin, cucumbers, green beans and fresh cilantro.

Ingredients:
- 3 cups almond flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 6 large eggs
- 9 tablespoons honey
- 6 teaspoons vanilla
Instructions:
1. In a medium-sized bowl, mix almond flour and baking soda until no clumps are visible.
2. In a separate bowl, mix in eggs, vanilla and honey. (Make sure honey is melted before mixing.) Mix all ingredients until fully incorporated.
3. Slowly add dry ingredients to the wet ingredients. Mix until fully incorporated with no clumps.
4. Grease donut tray with room-temperature butter, making sure there is plenty of butter covering each space of the mold.
5. Pipe in donut batter 3/4 of the way up, leaving room for donuts to rise during the baking process.
6. Bake at 350 degrees F for 10 minutes, then rotate the tray and bake for another 6 minutes, or until donuts are fully cooked.
7. Once pulled from oven, remove donuts from mold and let cool on a sheet tray. Donuts should be completely cooled before glazing.
Donut coffee glaze
- 3 cups xylitol
- 4 shots espresso
- Water as needed
Instructions:
1. In a medium-sized bowl, mix in xylitol and espresso shots. Whisk until fully incorporated with no visible clumps.
2. If mixture is too thick, adjust with a bit of water. Glaze should be thick enough to cover the back of a spoon completely.
3. Gently dip donuts in glaze, then place them on a sheet tray icing-side up to dry.
4. Devour.

Tina Anderson is the co-founder and CEO of Just Thrive Health. Her journey into the world of health had a unique start and some unusual turns. In this episode of Bulletproof Radio, Paul Stamets is with me in person at Alpha Labs. Paul is a speaker, author, mycologist, medical researcher and entrepreneur. He is considered an intellectual and industry leader in habitat, medicinal use and production of fungi, and he considers himself a “mycological warrior.” Listening to him describe, decode and illuminate the workings of the mushroom world is an enthralling experience, indeed.
“Mushrooms can feed you, they can kill you, they can heal you, they can send you on a spiritual journey,” Paul says. He knows all of this from first-hand experience. He’s spent over four decades in the Pacific Northwest studying and researching the world of mushrooms. He lectures extensively and his presentations cover a range of mushroom species and research showing how mushrooms can help the health of people and the planet.
From origins: “Over 500 million years ago, fungi were the first organisms come to land,” Paul says. “Just this past month [May 2019], they found new fossil records that pushes back the entrance of fungi onto land to a billion years ago. This is hundreds of millions of years before plants.”
To modern humans: “You and I are actually mycelial beings, and we are descendant of fungi,” he says. “Fungi are our ancestors.”
Paul says we’re intertwined with mushrooms at a cellular level. He believes that habitats have immune systems—just like people—and mushrooms are cellular bridges between the two. Our close evolutionary relationship to fungi can be the basis for novel pairings in the microbiome that lead to greater sustainability and immune enhancement.
And from neurogenesis to our microbiome to our mitochondria, fungi are linked to us. Part history lesson and all interesting, Paul’s stories are filled with intriguing discoveries.
His research is considered revolutionary and is creating a paradigm shift for helping ecosystems worldwide.
