Featuring Jennifer M. Duff (girlsrule001) as "The Boy" Jordan Haro (DeadTom) as "St. George"
NOTE: It's been 84 years. I'm excited that I could finally finish another chapter of this project! It's hard balancing everything I've got going on right now but very rewarding to see progress ^_^ Much thanks to Jennifer and Jordan for their hard work, and I hope this chapter will make them feel it was worth it! They're amazing, my whole cast has been amazing, I'm very lucky ok! :D In the trailer I released earlier in the year, I said that I'd be composing the rest of the music... but I really have no time to compose as many incidental tracks as are needed for this kind of project, so I reverted to my good pal YouTube Audio Library. I'd like to compose something for this project but it probably won't show up for some time.
Also, a new look! I commissioned the amazing MaxiMasMac (visit them on DeviantArt here! maximasmac.deviantart.com ) to create new cover art of our dear dragon ^_^ In addition, I had a dream a few months back that I edited the rest of the chapters without all my "he said"s/"said he"s and I wanted to see if it would actually work... and I think it did ^_^ So yay.

Here is a short trailer with a few sneak peeks at what to expect!
The final few chapters will feature beautiful new cover art by MaxiMasMac, as well as some original music.
Note that this audio production has featured many great voice-actors in past uploads, but since this trailer was made specifically for the final few chapters, it only mentions the actors who appear in those. You can catch up on the previous chapters on this channel!
I hope you will enjoy this trailer! Stock footage provided by Elemental Footage, Free Stock Footage, Epic Slow Mo, and RoyaltyFreeTube

Keep an eye out for Track 2 (coming soon!), in which the brave Boy will do a little exploring...
Hope you enjoy!
(On a more personal note, I kept Track 1 short for accessibility purposes but the length of each track will vary, as I'm trying to separate the scenes in a way which will feel natural in the grand scheme of things, like chapters, y'know? Though the book doesn't have actual chapters, we can imagine this is Chapter 1 :3
I have a wonderful cast and I'm soooooo happy to be uploading this first page of the adventure! I can't wait for all of you to hear their incredible performances and enjoy the beautiful story together with us ^_^ "The Reluctant Dragon" was one of my favorite books as a kid and remains so to this day, so it's really exciting and a pleasure to be working on this project :)

Wow, so many amazing auditions! It was hard on some roles to decide between you, but in the end I chose actors who fit my personal idea of what the characters should sound like... absolutely nothing against you if you were not chosen! Everyone was awesome but there are only so many roles, after all. So please don't be discouraged if you weren't cast, and I hope you will come back and try out for the next production! :)
Also, I am still open to casting understudies if anyone is interested! Even if you don't end up voicing in the final production, you will be credited and links to your channel included in the castlist. :) Contact me at seashellestories@yahoo.com if interested in auditioning to be an understudy!
All right, well, pretty much everything you need to know is in the video! I will be personally contacting everyone in the cast to give you a few notes based off of your auditions and send you the script! If you have any questions, feel free to speak up in the comments or in PM after I get in touch with you :) To reiterate, the deadline for sending in your completed lines is April 17th (unless I instruct you differently over messaging).
That's all for now! Will be contacting you all tonight or tomorrow, so keep an eye out for me! :D Thanks once again to everyone who is joining me in this adventure!

The Reluctant Dragon by Kenneth Grahame- Full Cast AudiobookHayloft Audiobooks2016-02-17 | Auditions are now open for my full-cast YT audiobook production of this epic, comedic short story by Kenneth Grahame!
Apologies for the delay on this! I had some problems getting started, but I'm back on track now! Just to clarify, this is a non-professional production done purely for fun and adventure and all good stuff!
SUMMARY "The Reluctant Dragon" originally appeared as a chapter in Grahame's 1898 anthology, "Dream Days". Set in the lush Berkshire Downs, it tells the story of a curious boy who befriends a lazy and poetic dragon... as well as the noble knight sent to fight him. Together, the three friends hatch a scheme to convince the terrified townspeople that not all dragons are things to be feared.
You can read the full story here, complete with the original "Dream Days" prologue and epilogue (which I will not include in this audiobook UNLESS I get like a crap ton of auditions, in which case I will cast the three characters of the prologue/epilogue accordingly): http://www.online-literature.com/grahame/dream-days/7
HOW TO AUDITION:
1. Own a microphone or ipod with recording app (quality will be taken into account but I'm not THAT picky XD)
2. Record the audition lines (provided below) for any characters you are interested in playing
3. Send your audition to me via a YouTube video or audio download (mp3, wav, or mp4 format only, please!) OR you can email the audio to me directly at seashellestories@yahoo.com (same format rules apply)
4. Sit back and chill until I upload the casting announcement video, and if your name appears in that video then you are part of the official cast! You'll receive a message from me at that time with all the info/lines/notes :3
Now then, the characters! Deadline for sending your auditions will be March 17th (St. Patrick's Day!)
THE BOY- cheerful, childlike, but still mature for his age. Looking for a youthful female voice with a boyish edge. AUDITION LINES: (CALM) "It's only a dragon, Father." (IRRITATED) "Arrange things indeed! The dragon treats the whole affair as if it was an invitation to tea and croquet." (EXHAUSTED, SNIFFLING) "Oh, it's this great lumbering pig of a dragon! First he makes me promise to see him home, and then he says I'd better do it, and goes to sleep!"
THE DRAGON- melodramatic, sometimes spacey, friendly. Looking for gentle male voice or possibly deeper female voice. AUDITION LINES (INDIGNANT, THREATENING) "Now don't you hit me, or bung stones, or squirt water, or anything. I won't have it, I tell you!" (MELANCHOLY, DRAMATIC) "Fact is- I 'm as happy up here as the day's long; never without an occupation, dear fellow, never without an occupation! And yet, between ourselves, it is a trifle dull at times." (SECRETIVE/BLUSHING) "Did you ever--just for fun--try to make up poetry--verses, you know?"
ST. GEORGE- wise, kind, fatherly. Looking for a deep male voice. AUDITION LINES (KINDLY) "Yes, come in, Boy. Another tale of misery and wrong, I fear me. Is it a kind parent, then, of whom the tyrant has bereft you? Or some tender sister or brother? Well, it shall soon be avenged." (FRUSTRATED) "This is an evil world, and sometimes I begin to think that all the wickedness in it is not entirely bottled up inside the dragons. " (GRAND) "But this would be a beautiful place for a fight! These great bare rolling Downs for the arena,--and me in my golden armour showing up against your big blue scaly coils! Think what a picture it would make!"
FATHER- nervous, panicky. Looking for mid-range male voice. AUDITION LINES (TERRIFIED) "It's all up with me, Maria! Never no more can I go up on them there Downs, was it ever so! " (INCREDULOUS) "Only a dragon indeed! And what do you know about it?"
MOTHER- cool, calm, loving. Looking for gentle female voice. AUDITION LINES (SCOLDING) "Now don't you take on like that, but tell us all about it first!" (PITYING) "To tell the truth, I'm not half happy in my own mind, thinking of that poor animal lying alone up there, without a bit o' hot supper or anyone to change the news with."
THE BOY'S FRIEND (2 lines)- curious, excited. Looking for youthful male or female voice. AUDITION LINE "Why, St. George, of course! He's heard tell of our dragon, and he's comm' on purpose to slay the deadly beast, and free us from his horrid yoke. O my! won't there be a jolly fight!"
ILLITERATE PEASANT (1 line)- puzzled, nervous. Looking for mid-range male or female voice. AUDITION LINE "Bain't you goin' to cut 'is 'ed orf, master?"
Thank you all and hope to hear from you soon! Feel free to comment with any questions (I'd add more but I can only make the description so long XD) Cheers and best of luck!
